Sanli lawn mowers starts and dies quickly. What to do?
1 answer
Fiddly buggers, but they cut well and run well once going. A few simple things to check. Is your air cleaner clean? Easy to undo the nut and check. Ensure it's left clean in there. Enough fresh fuel? It's a gravity feed so have enough in there. Ensure good fuel flow. Is there an air lock at the filter outlet? Disconnect at the outlet end and hold it up to fully prime the filter. I might even flush fuel forward from the hose to help with the next step... If that doesn't work, then drop the carb float bowl. Jiggle the small white floats up and down to hopefully dislodge any junk stuck up there. If the fuel is flowing well you should be good to go.

do you have a parts breakdown

Check the fuel. Make sure there is plenty of fuel. Make sure the fuel lever is pulled back to the top. Pull the cord full length. It may take several pulls on the starter. Its stops starts all the time and the try tieing the chock and still no good is this brand any good on making mowers cause it looks good but working wise in the other hand not to good at allTake it to a mower repairer, the first thing they'll do is drain all the fuel and fill it up with fresh 95 octane rated fuel

Which way can I tip my 4stroke mower on its side?
1 answer
On the Sanli mower, looking from the rear or handle side, tip it towards the right. Should be a big arrow on the LHS of the mower.

are the blades soposed to move by hand when the mower isnt going?

I'm not sure if the blades are meant to move if the mower isn't going? You would be best to contact the manufacturer, that way the information will be hopefully informative as well as accurate, however don't expect accountability. Another alternative may be to explore forums and/ or Internet that specifically focuses on your particular model of mower. I am not a mower mechanic, nor have I ever been one, I regret the purchase of this mower due to the manufacturer Sanlii not honouring warranty, passing the buck, and well customer service......what customer service....I would recommend a different mower as SANLII HAVE NO INTENTION OF CHANGING AND ACTUALLY LISTENING TO CUSTOMER FEEDBACK! Have a great day, keep smiling and good luck!Yep! They can move as long as they are not loose!!

I tried to pull the cord, but it only comes out a couple of cms. It seems to be stuck. I had used the mower successfully earlier in the day, but it slowed to a stop. i assumed it had run out of fuel and topped it up. Then the problem with the not being able to pull the cord. What to do? Old Meg

Sounds nasty. I hope it hasn't seized. Did you check the oil level?? Maybe a repair job. Is it still under warranty?? P.S. Cats shouldn't drive lawn mowers!Very common issue only with this brand apparently, sounds like the seal, and exactly what happened to me...I had only used my mower approx half a dozen times if that and still under warranty yet manufacturer stated it was my problem...VERY BAD DESIGN ON THEIR PART.. IM contacting the ACCC. This mower is the WORST I have ever come across and I have had a few...they weren't helpful when contacting the manufacturer no customer service or follow up so good luck...recommendation - buy a different brand stay away from Sanlii

how to repair sanli victory 400 lawn mower, has stopped after hitting rock?
1 answer
Unfortunately you've probably broken the crankshaft. You may need to take it to a mower repair shop for a quote. I did this to one of my old mowers when it hit part of a concrete slab hidden by the grass.

How do you change the oil?
1 answer
I just undo the dipstick and tip the lawnmower over an ice cream container. Find something to prop it up and let it all run out.

I need to top up the oil on my mower as I bought it second hand.. Can anyone tell me what viscosity engine oil I need to use?

Sae 30 cheers mattis not the mower problem its you that got problems in how to operate machinery

What is the best fuel rating for this mower????

I just use the standard unleaded without any problems. Be careful that you don't run the mower in the choke (fast) zone as it seems to burn out the spark plug which I did once. No problems since, ever.Standard unleaded and remember to top up oil and change regularly for long life. You. An add a thimble of 2 stroke oil to petrol this helps reduce upper cylinder wear in small 4 stroke engines cheers mattSAE 30 is the recommended oil for your machine. Adding a thimble full of 2 stroke oil to your fuel (not the oil you are using in the sump ie: SAE 30) is a good idea but don't use more than a table spoon full. Bloke next door used the same oil as the sump, did not damage the engine but soon found his spark plug black and clogged up. also oil residue in the oil injection system (carburetor) needed to be cleaned out. As a rule - change your oil and use new fuel every spring, always use 95 not 92 octane fuel unless you have too. I think 98 is better used than 92 octane if you have no option. 92 octane fuel seems to be full of impurities. The overhead valve 4 stroke engines tend to run cooler than their older brothers also modern alloys in valves don't burn out like they used too using higher octane fuels. We have had 4 stroke engines running for years in insane conditions. What I do is add 100ml of Engine Protect with the oil from day one (This is not a plug for Liqui Moly) but I'm a great believer in the properties of (Molybdenum Disulfide). Liqui Moly has it as part of its make up. It worked a treat in the British Spitfires during WW2.
