Silverstone All Terrain AT-117 Questions & Answers
What's road noise like?
I have these as fitted to a second hand vehicle I purchased. I wanted to check the age of the tires, but I cannot find the DOT or the age stamp, both of which I thought are required by law in SA. (I'm unable to easily see the inside tire wall, but the age stamp should be on the outside anyway, but its not).
Are Silverstone tyres good for passenger cars, like Audi A6 2LTR TDI - multitronic?
How are these tyres going now? I'm considering a set for my Amarok.
Gidaye Andy They are the best tyre I've ever fitted to any of my vehicles, tread really gives good grip in all conditions, no jumping around, the vehicle just sticks to the seal. In wet weather they are 100% plus. Off road they just carry on regardless.
I've a swb 2006 Ssangyong Korando 2.9 turbo diesel, compared to the Hancook's I first put on and only got 28000 before the walls bubbled, bead split, plus three punctures, I'd never buy the hk's again.
The Silverstone are good honest tyre, 9 outa 10.
The reason, with windows down, slight road noise but with windows up, no noise.
The guy who sold them to me uses them on his Land cruiser series 70. 80, 000 km's before he replaced with the same Silverstone brand.
I travel over tareseal, (corse chip, high rainfall highway on the West Coast of NZ, 80% of the time, but as I work in a coal mine the tyres see some challenging conditions. So far no punctures.
Hope this helps, you won't regret the purchase. I'm a very happy customer.
Cheers
