Hi Dani, I can't recall the grade of stainless steel, however the casing did not rust at all, so it was obvously a very good grade. My problem was with the burners, which was made out of thin SS and rusted pretty quickly. I was quite surprised at how quickly they rusted, i guess if you clean after every use, they may last longer. The flame tamers helped, but there was still residue left on the burners after each use.
