How to use this iron I just had it given to me without instructions
My Stirling steam iron just stopped working. It was going great then suddenly after a couple hours of ironing it just went dead. Is it possible to be repaired? Anyone had this happen? Does anyone know where to repair these?
Irons only last a few years. Not worth repairing.
Thank you for your reply.
Need a new water tank for the steam station iron
Not economical to repair these.
Sad that can’t get part as the iron itself is working well — dropped the water tank and split it
I purchased a Stirling iron/ steamer and have had in storage. Today I finally unpacked only to find it doesn’t work. It doesn’t get hot nor does any steam happen. Any suggestions before I bin it?
Steam is coming out but also lots of water coming out of the holes.
Where can I access a user guide for this steam station?
the sole plate does not get hot try everything in the manual
The heating coil is burnt out
I've used this iron for three years and it's been great to use until now. It is leaking water from the bolt on the tank underneath the unit. Can this bolt be replaced? Sabina
If there is water coming past the screw at the base then it's likely that the water tank itself is cracked. You might be able to take the screw out, and seal the tank with sealant. It might not work.
Hi How do I clean the iron as it’s putting streak marks on the cloths and it looks like they are coming from the holes. Cheers
Put a cup of vinegar in the water tank and add a cup of water . Turn the iron on to cleaning mode or the highest setting. Press and hold the steam button and the vinegar will loosen up any build up in or around the holes on the iron. Hold the str button down for about 30 seconds then release, wipe over the iron and then press and hold for another 30 seconds. Keep doing this until the tank is empty. Rinse out the water tank and fill woth water, press and hold steam buttton again for 30 seconds to get rid of any vinegar solution still in the iron. By now any build up in the iron should be gone and it should be ok to use as normal. I also do this if the iron hasn’t been used for a long time. If I use the iron regularly then I normally do this every month or so.
How do you clean the iron as we are getting marks on the cloths.
My wife’s iron won’t heat or release steam but the boiler seems to be heating the water. Should we look at something that may be the problem before we give up and throw it into the recycling?
Go to Aldi and return if you have the warranty..
Hi Greg, Thank you for your enquiry. If you could please provide the model number of the unit, we can look into this for you. It is usually alpha-numeric (numbers and letters). It should be on the back or bottom of the unit, as well as on the front cover of the instruction manual.
If you do need any further assistance please don’t hesitate to contact us on 1300 886 649 on Monday to Saturday 8:30am – 6pm.
Thanks the model number STS2406.
Hi Greg,
Unfortunately, this isn't a Tempo product. Please contact Balco Brands Pty Ltd on 1300 663 907 so they may provide further assistance including your warranty options.

The steam station not releasing steam but the iron is hot
Is this product slill available or is another mdel coming out on the market.
My Stirling Steam Station iron has been good but now will not allow steam function to work. I have done descaling but it may have been too late and it is blocked inside somewhere. It turns on but immediately all the three red lights on the top turn on and stay on. It gets hot but will not steam 9 even with the tank full to Max). It it a dead duck?
if it's past the warranty and nothing else is working, it might have been too little too late. I know in Sydney the water has been quite hard and brown during the drought. Nothing to lose by trying this. Fill the water tank with equal amounts of white vinegar and water. Allow to heat and holding the handset continuously run for steam. It might clear the block. Use the whole tank. Follow up with plain water doing the same. I'd probably stretch to buying a bottle of distilled water for the iron. If it doesn't work, it's probably cactus. Good luck. PS: do it near an open window, the vinegar can get stinky.
PS Aldi are very good at replacing products still under warranty. Ring them and they will guide you through the identification process, and will tell you if it's still covered. Do that first.
My sterling steam station from Aldi continues to steam gets to hot on the handle to iron. How do I descale it
Hello Jenny, there are two places to turn down the heat. one on the iron which u turn down just like an ord. iron. The other on the station itself. Next to where u turn it on/off are two buttons, push the one to the right of the switch. This should take it down to a lower temp. Hope this helps. Mary
My Aldi Stirling Steam Station Iron is faulty (it trips our Scanelac switch). Where can I repair it or buy a new one please?
What would cause it to stop steaming when everything is working like lights and iron is heating up ????
Hi, make sure iron turned on. On your iron there is a normal dial, 1,2 or 3. To make it steam when you are ironing there is a switch under the handle of the iron at the front, push it up with your finger. Make sure when you put your iron on the station push the iron into the cradle from right to left. It will click. The remove push little black button on the left. Main thing if you want steam must hold that button up. Hope this helps. Regards Peter aka THe Bear
Might need descaling, especially if you have hard / tank water. You can buy a descaler from Aldi that is actually designed for their coffee machines but works on any water tank
The steam on my iron will not work, I have checked everything and hold the button down?
I experienced that once and realised that the setting had been switched to dry by a previous user. If it's still under warranty, phoning ALDI head office they will check the warranty, send you a postage paid returnslip and then will repair or replace. They are very good to deal with. Goodluck
