Did u sort this issue? I just had the same problem and managed to buy a new controller BL0810 which fixed it, thanks goodness! Hit me up if you want details. Has anyone managed to buy the R & L heat control units? I'm thinking I may try to get them to have just in case. I bloody love this quilt and cannot fathom why they are not popular.

Suggestion Reg, Perhaps have another chat with the old Sunbeam technician and ask him if you could connect the faulty side to the side that is working as well. It might be possible to connect both sides to the one side that is working. At least if you could do that the quilt would work for you if you can't find anyone with an old quilt. Cheers.

Hi Reg, I too have the same king-sized heated quilt which occasionally exhibits problems. I am not familiar with the red light problem but if ours ever fails to come on, which does occur from time to time. The solution is always to do a complete reset by disconnecting it from the mains power socket, disconnecting the push-in plugs, reconnecting, and of course, checking your batteries in the remotes. I tried everywhere to buy a replacement (as a spare) and was told by Sunbeam that this model was introduced over 10 years ago and didn't sell well, so they deleted it from their catalog. We have one and cannot understand why Sunbeam ever stopped making them? I will see if we can locate the brochure and get back to you but if not try disconnecting everything and just switching the power on to the controller, it might just reset the controller? We also had an issue with the plugs, so make sure they are both the correct way around and push them extra hard into the clips.

Sorry Tony, I'm pretty sure you can only use it from one of the controllers. I have mine set up like that and it is the left controller, if yours is the same then I assume my memory is correct. Why doesn't your controller work? My batteries corroded in it last year and it wouldn't work but I carefully cleaned it and it started working again. My quilt is 15 years old

That’s right. But the controller I’ve been using is giving a double beep when operated and the control unit is saying check left controller (red light). Batteries have been replaced but hasn’t fixed it. I set up the one remote to operate both sides, but can’t remember how it was done as the other remote only operates one side now.

Hi Chris - we had a queen size sunbeam electric quilt. One of the best investments we have ever made. We bought the quilt some 12 years ago (or longer). It is a quilt not a blanket. The left side of our quilt stopped working last year and we are always on the lookout for another one - especially if it is kingsjze. We contacted Sunbeam about 4 years ago to see if we could buy another quilt. Unfortunately Sunbeam advised that they no longer make a heated quilt - very disappointing. However still looking!

Hi Chris, This is a blanket heated quilt and comes with 2 independently wireless remote control and timer units - one for each side of the bed. After 50 years of using electric blankets, this King sized quilt is the best thing we have ever used. It's a brilliant design that for some reason Sunbeam stopped making about 5 years ago. I know this because we tried to buy one for our guest room. I tried everywhere to buy another one, but no luck. If you have found a supplier, please let me know?? Hi Annb. Sunbeam's recommendation is that all of the internal elements are lying flat on the bed so that there are no kinks or bends in the element. We don't have any records of any issues with what you are doing, but we also haven't tested different sized blankets on different sized beds. So without testing this, we can't recommend it.

Unfortunately sunbeam stopped making these several years ago, however you can get something similar on ebay. The controls are attached similar to an electric blanket, so I put the quilt in the cover upside down so the controls were coming out the bottom of the quilt cover

Hi Paul1075, To reset the blanket try switching the power off at the power outlet, securely re-attaching the control connector plug to the blanket and switch the power back on. If the timer light flashes once the power is connected, the control connector plug is not properly fitted.
