Hi Greg, All Weather is not an anticorrosive coating so it will not prevent further rusting. With what you have described, the recommendation is to remove the rust by sanding and to apply White Knight Rust Guard True Bite Primer prior to the finishing coats of All Weather.

Hi Dave. Please see the below instructions for applying Taubmans All Weather onto weathered timber surfaces. Weathered (greyed) timber must be sanded to the original timber surface. Tannin rich timbers such as cedar should be primed with Taubmans 3 in 1 Prep or a suitable Taubmans oil based wood primer. Apply 2 topcoats as per application instructions listed on the back of the tin in the colour of your choice.

Hi. Taubmans All Weather can be applied on stable prepared existing painted surfaces. Follow instructions listed on the can for preparation and application. For general use, we normally recommend All Weather in Low Sheen or Semi-Gloss.

Hi Lana. Although Taubmans All Weather Low Sheen can be considered on a timber deck, it’s not a dedicated decking paint and would required regular re-application to maintain the appearance in high wear environments. We can’t advise how often as this is directly proportional to the amount of wear.

Hi, The aluminium surface will need to be cleaned and free from any surface contaminants. Once clean and dry, apply 2 coats of White Knight Rust Guard SLS Etch Primer and allow to dry as per instructions. Topcoat with 2 coats of Taubmans All Weather in the colour of your choice.

Hi, For spraying Taubmans All Weather, we recommend thinning the paint with water up to 10%, secondly you can always use the viscosity checker that comes with the spray unit for consistency before spraying. For any further spray equipment advice, we recommend contacting the spray equipment manufacturer.

We recommend applying 2 topcoats onto a prepared Colorbond gutter surface on the exterior. We do not recommend applying a third topcoat in oil based as the water-based Taubmans All Weather or Sunproof will outperform the oil-based product.

When I painted the exterior of my house 30 odd years ago I used Taubmans Sunproof as it was then Taubmans premium exterior paint. My understanding is Taubmans All Weather Exterior sits above Sunproof in the range and is now Taubmans premium exterior paint. I obviously can't give a 30 year review of All Weather Vs Sunproof but it is my understanding the former is better.

Hi Vice K, Yes. Taubmans All Weather is the Ultra Premium range and has the Nanoguard Technology with added UV resistance. Taubmans Sunproof is the premium range of products safe for the collection of rainwater. They are both great products but it just depends on the level of quality you require.

Thankyou for your answer, its for the exterior of my house and the colour is a neutral base from the british paints colour range, so maybe the all weather would be a better option?

Hi, Taubmans All Weather Matt is intended as an exterior paint where indoor air quality is not a factor. Gloss level is between 3% and 5%. An interior ceiling paint is typically about 1% which offers the best defect-hiding capabilities which is a strong requirement on interior ceilings. We don't support the use of exterior paints inside.

As long as the existing Colorbond is not peeling, there is no chalk on the surface and clean and dry, then you can apply 2 nice even coats of the Taubmans All Weather to the surface following the directions on the back of the tin.

Hi Troy, Picture framing is not always related to colour. It is due to different texture, different sheen or different spread rates between brushing and rolling. To assist with preventing picture framing, roll over the brushed area as close to the edge as possible while the paint is still wet and glossy.

If you need to paint at the limit of the painting range, the paint will dry twice as fast compared to lower temps. Add about 5% turps to the product and work fast. Ideally wait for more favorable weather conditions.

Taubmans All Weather is self priming on may types of surfaces but not all types of substrates.

Please advise what the surface is currently coated with.

What type of spray gun? Generally they don’t recommend more than 10% clean water. If it’s a small cup fed HVLP gun, then it should have a viscosity cup to tell you how thick it is. If it’s a proper airless, then 5-10% with a 517 tip should do the majority of the work.

Thank you. It is an Aldi spray gun with a 1 litre aluminium can connected to an air hose.

I did the 10% water and it worked like a charm.
