Ziegler & Brown Turbo Elite 4 Burner on Cart Questions & Answers
VerifiedI need to replace the 4 burners, are there any other options than buying from BBQ Galore for $250 each,, $1000 for four, that is ridiculous.
On trying to light burner, flame thrower burns a slow yellow flame, not the blue jet that it should, doesn't light burner, and makes a "flickering" sound.
My turbo elite rqt bbq doesn't run on radiant heat, just the flame come up on all 4 burners. What could be the problem? Thanks, Otto
Handle on hood is coming loose how do I tighten it
Hi Vincent, Please see troubleshooting steps that you can do. Replacing Turbo Hood Handle or Tightening the hood handle – Approx 15-20mins Tools needed: 1x large flathead screwdriver, a size 2 phillips head screwdriver, a 10mm spanner and a small bowel/container to not lose the removed screws.
1. Undo the hood hinge screws (1 on each side) and set aside. 2. Remove hood and place upside down on a towel or non-scratch surface. 3. Undo the hood thermometer and set aside. 4. Unscrew the 5x small screws from the inside of the front panel. 5. Remove inside front panel and set aside. 6. Unscrew all remaining screw from the inside of the hood and remove the hood inner skin from the outer. 7. After the hood inner has been removed you will have access to the screws that hold the handle on, remove the screws and replace handle. 8. Reassemble hood and attach back on the BBQ. 9. Start grilling!
I hope the above information is of an assistance to you.
I’ve got a similar issue - except the hood handle adapter has broken (SKY36-0545) - can Zeigleir provide one?
Hi - I need a replacement of the thin metal frame that the quartz dome sits on that attaches it to the burner - any ideas where to get? I was told that to get this part you have to buy a brand new burner that comes with the attachment parts (2 of them) which seems a bit ridiculous as the burners are working fine …
New installation and the burners will not stay alight. What is the solution?
Hi John, For any warranty issues, please contact your store of purchase, or Barbeques Galore's dedicated customer care team at: external link
Having issues with one burner not lighting properly, flame still flows but doesn’t shoot flame to light burner. Have replaced flame thrower and swapped jets around but still no joy. Any suggestions? Have taken a video but can’t download. What else can we try?
Hi Wayne, did you have this issue resolved? I've recently had the same issue now.
Yes. It turns out there was a spiderweb in the copper tubing carrying gas to the igniter.
The crystal dome has become hazy after a few years. Any advice or is this normal?
Hi Laurie, ours has gone the same way. Liz
My quartz burner hasn’t been as successful as I had hoped. I have really bad flare ups, which is the thing I wanted to avoid. Any tips from anyone? It’s really disappointing.
Take it to the tip, it eiil save you a lot of frustration
Can someone give me some advice? One of my Z&B RQT burners is misfiring with a burbling sound. I have check the jet and it is clean. I have swapped burners to see if it is a burner problem but it is still misfiring at the same jet position.
Had the same problem bbq gave me a new one under warranty been fine ever since
I had the service chap visit and it turned out to be a spider's web in the tube leading from the jet. It was disrupting the gas flow.
What size jet for change over to natural gas?
I'm sorry, not sure. BBQ's Galore gave me the numbers for two guys who set up BBQ's professionally and one of them took care of it. Still waiting for a follow up call and still not happy.
On the back of the bbq is a plate that confirms the jet size for natural gas or lpg. When you buy the natural gas conversion kit it contains a couple of different jet sizes. Just refer to the plate on the back of the bbq.
Your BBQ has a basic design flaw. I've had to replace three of the glass burner covers on three separate occasions. There is no protection from the plates if they are lifted out ( while they are hot).As we do a lot of cooking on this BBQ, we constantly change the plate to have all 4 grills going. Either a better handle than those provided, or metal bars between the glass covers would stop this from happening. The glass covers have cost me $40 each from 'barbecues galore'. Otherwise I absolutely love this BBQ.It cooks evenly, and is a pleasure to use. Is it possible for me to purchase the glass covers any cheaper? Michael
Not that I'm aware of in 2 years I've never broken one but my friends dad has and they cost me $60 each so you must have got a very good price just be more careful
how do I clean the drip tray?
Hi, I followed the instructions on the Z & B website. It shows how to clean the BBQ completely. In regards to the drip tray. I slide it out remove the fat soak and replace it with new fat soak after around 20 BBQ's. I also line the bottom of the drip tray with alfoil.
Regards, Mike
I really like the Turbo Elite Island module with fridge to complete my outdoor kitchen - but I don't want the sink. Is there a version that has just the fridge?
You are asking the wrong person. Ask the Turbo retailers.
The Grand Turbo with double door fridge attached may be the answer - same burner technology, full 304 stainless, side burner, rotisserie included, granite bench top, extra bench space & storage drawers.
Full disclosure - I work at Barbeques Galore, Marion SA - I solve your outdoor kitchen requirements! :)
