Be careful with ViIP foods, I fed two of my dogs with a chunky gourmet VIP food and both became ill lucky one threw up but the other ingested the food and ended up at the emergency vet nearly loosing his life with a case of severe gastro costing me $5300 for a $6 meal!!! VIP denied any responsibility. Offered me support by way of giving me more of that food that nearly killed my dogs!

After this ordeal I’ve found lots of recipes on line that are easy to make and you know what you’re feeding your animals and they love you for it.

Hi Sue, Our VIP Chunkers are complete and balanced, so can be fed as the sole diet or in addition to other foods! Our VIP Chunkers with Beef, Peas and Carrots will have the lowest fat content of our Chunkers range and will contain 8.5% Fat, with the others containins 10% Fat. We hope this information helps! Hi Joanne All I can say is this is food is questionable 2 of my dogs became sick one nearly close to death eating VIP chunky gourmet mince. This stuff had zero smell and being raw makes you wonder how much preservatives they are putting in to stop any smell at all. There are heaps of awesome recipes on line and easy enough to make your own, animals will be healthier for it and you know what’s in it.

2 out of 2 dogs became sick eating vip food! Luckily one dog threw it up shortly after eating and the other One unfortunately became violently ill (close to death) from eating VIP cost me $5300 at an emergency vet, it was gastro and vip asked to see the bill and the clinical notes as they have some sort of compensation ability but all the did was offer me more of their food, of which I declined.

I’d check the preservative they put in their food before you gave it to your dog. I had a dog that nearly died recently eating vip chuncky gourmet mince.

Hi Kim, Our VIP Lamb Chunkers are not formulated to be a single animal protein diet, so would not be best for a dog that has allergies to chicken. Hi Lynne, thank you for your interest in our VIP fresh roll. There is a feeding guide located on the back of the packaging to help assist with determining how much to feed. We would like to kindly mention that our guide is a generalised feeding guide and will need to be adjusted depending on the breed, size, activity level and any additional food being given.

Hi Mark, Our VIP Chunkers are best kept refrigerated below 4°C Our Chunkers can be stored frozen and we recommend dividing the product into meal sized portions and bagging individually in the freezer for thawing as needed in the fridge. Once thawed we do not recommend re-freezing. We'd recommend using the pack contents prior to the labelled best before date. We hope this helps! Felicity The VIP Petfoods Team

Hi Darryl, thank you for getting in touch! Our VIP Chilled rolls can be frozen. We'd recommend dividing the roll into meal-sized portions prior to freezing as freezing the roll whole can alter the consistency of the product.

Once the product has been divided, this can be stored in the freezer for later use. Once the product is ready for use, thaw it in the fridge preferably and ensure the portion is consumed within at least 24 hours.

Our VIP Chunkers products have been formulated with recipes that have been specifically created for adult dogs, so may not be suitable to feed to a growing pup as they will require additional nutrients which you are more likely to find in a product that has been formulated for the puppy life stage.

It is possible she is sensitive to it. It might not be a good choice for your dog/she might have an allergy. Also, if you change the diet of the dog abrupty this can cause gastrointestinal upset. I have two small dogs (Jack Russell + Foxie) and I feed them 2 tablespoons of chunkers mixed with 1 tablespoon of biscuits every morning, and at night a couple tablespoons of biscuits. I freeze the chunkers and then leave in the coolest part of the fridge. I also find that they tolerate the chicken really well; the lamb makes them do stinky farts.

Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it. We have 4 mini schnauzers at the moment, 2 of which are my daughters, they all really enjoy the chunkers and they only get the chunkers once a week at a treat. But after what has been happening with the bed wetting the morning after I think I might try a different brand like the 4 legs natural and see if that makes a difference. Thanks again.

We have a qualified Research & Development team that carefully formulate our complete and balanced recipes to meet all your pets nutritional requirements in line with the American Association of Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) Nutrient Profiles for the labelled breed and life stage.

If you’re not familiar with AAFCO, they are a globally recognised organisation who research and determine the safe and appropriate levels for all nutrients that need to be included in pet foods based on their breed and life stage. If a pet food is formulated as complete and balanced to meet the AAFCO nutritional profiles there will be a statement on the packaging advising what species and life stage it is for.

We can confirm all of our VIP chilled rolls are complete and balanced products, and can be fed as the sole diet.
