Sounds like you have a faulty one. This same issue happened to me. The company asked me to send it back and they sent another out and the new one automatically sucked my hair in.

The instructions are confusing, but have the flat part facing your head and put a small strand of hair in then close it. It should suck your hair in. If not, check the settings on the curler or you may have a faulty one

This VS Sassoon is a smooth & wave curler VSP2662A but previous models are only curlers therefore more expensive. I am not sure how this one works, need to read instructions.

No it cannot straighten Hair Unfortunately

It will beep when its finished it doesn't take very long, then release the hair. If you want longer, you can increase the time before it beeps, consult your instructions. The beeping is a safety measure, only need to curl hair which takes only a few seconds on such high heat, longer can suck moisture from hair.

No it beeps every 4-5 seconds to let yu know to OPEN the Curler to let your hair out.. so it Will NOT Burn Your Hair, so when it beeps, open it & Just let your hair OUT

My curler beeps and stops after 4/5 seconds regardless of what setting I have it on

I would say it has fault, I would not be using it.

Noraisah, I can't answer you question, I was so unhappy with this product I returned it the next day and swapped for another brand. It literally grabbed and damaged my hair after one use, I found that it didn't glide through easily at all.

Hi we are sorry to hear your styler is faulty... the beeps are a very important part to the styler as they let you know when to release the curl and will prevent your hair from being in the styler for too long.

To prevent your hair from being caught in the styler you should read and follow the instructions supplied with the styler very carefully.

Hair should be clean and well combed/brushed before using the styler so all knots or tangles are removed

Use on dry hair only and free from any kind of hairspray.

Section hair before styling using section clips.

Use sections of hair no more than 3cm wide , comb and slightly twist the hair to keep the section neat and together when placing in the styler

The open section of the styler should always face the scalp (head)

To make a claim against the warranty normal returns procedure for a faulty item is to take it back to the place of purchase, where the retailer will replace the styler for you on behalf of Vidal Sassoon. In this event, per the terms of the warranty you will need to present a receipt or invoice as your proof of purchase.

I do sometimes leave it in for a few seconds longer than the time recommmneded to achieve a tighter curl.

The instructions state AUTO SHUT OFF This appliance has an automatic shut off feature for added safety. If the appliance is switched on for more than 60 minutes continuously, it will automatically switch off. If you

wish to continue using the appliance after this time, simply slide the switch to off position

and then slide to the relevant setting to turn the power on.

SLEEP MODE

This appliance has an automatic sleep mode feature. If the appliance is not used for

more than 20 minutes the temperature will automatically drop down by 50°C. If you wish

to continue using the appliance after this time, simply close then release the handles

and it will return to the temperature setting you were using it on.

I wouldn't recommend using on wet or damp hair as it may tangle and even burn your hair.

I would recommend using on dry hair only to ensure you get the perfect curl that holds for hours.

Hi there, I haven't really noticed it smoking unless my hair has just freshly been dried and may still be slightly damp. I don't use any hair products so this may also be a factor if you see smoke whilst using it. I would say that if it was burning your hair then you would actually smell syngeing.
