Weber Q Standard (Q2000) LPG Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPNs: 53010024 and 53060024What's the difference between Weber Q2000 and Weber Q2000 classic 2nd generation? I have just purchased the classic 2nd gen. I have seen a few queries regarding the hose supplied not fitting a standard LPG 9kg gas bottle. Why would that be?
Sorry not sure, when I purchased my weber Q the only other model that I'm aware of had a higher lid and a temperature gauge in the lid which would be handy at times.Maybe that's the difference between the models your interested in?.
Hi Donna, both those models are the same and is the second generation of Weber Q. The latest 3rd Generation model is named the Q2000N. From April 1st, 2022, the Australian Gas Standard adjusted the regulations to adopt a newer and safer hose connection for LPG barbecues and gas appliances. Therefore all barbecues manufactured after this date now come with a Type 27 hose fitting, and these hoses do not fit to gas bottles that have the previous Type 21 or POL fitting. New gas bottles are available for the Type 27 hose. You can find out more information about the gas hose regulations and changes here: external link

Hi I recently bought the weber Q 2000 LPG and was wondering if i need to get a different hose for the new LPG type 27 bottles?
Hi there Thank you for your question. When did you purchase your barbecue? If it was manufactured after April 1st 2022 it will have the type 27 hose, you can check this by looking at your box it will have a green sticker on it. If not, you can still purchase the older gas bottles, they will be available for a bit longer. If you have any other questions or if you would like to purchase a new hose please let us know
I purchased a 4kg cylinder with my Q2000 but the manual states a 4.5 kg min.... Can I still use it
Hi David, yes you can still use the 4kg gas bottle. However be aware that the timings and cooking guides provided in your owners guide are from using a 9kg gas bottle, therefore your cooking times may be differ slightly.
thanks for that...problem is I have found that the cylinder connection does not match the Weber connection...is there an accessory available?
