Zempire Aerobase 3 Questions & Answers
VerifiedI’m currently sitting under my new-ish aerobase 3 and for the 3rd time tonight it has randomly and suddenly lost pressure and buckled. I’ve pumped it to 8psi, and now to 9… what am I doing wrong? It’s not overly windy or anything.
Meh nevermind, one of the valves wasn’t on properly so I guess the one-way valves just gave in after a while. All sorted.
How do you find the heat and glare in them? I note they have brought out a 3 Pro which has a darker fabric. They have also added an optional Pro Material (darker) roof. I would really like the 4 but in a Pro to have darker stronger fabric
Hi i didnt know of the pro version Ive noticed in hotter times in summer that the heat and glare is more than expected But then its summer The heat is noticeable from about 1 from the ceiling Lately we have been putting a tarp part over for the purpose of an annexe for rain to other tents. It reduced it a lot
We are onto our 4th shelter which becomes the main hub for eating / making dinner etc. Every time we go camping we get hit by a storm. Now rain is no issue but its the wind, all 4 have in some way buckled under the storm winds. To point where we have to flatten shelter and retreat into tents. So has im.thinking the Zempire inflatable shelter might stand up better but need actual feedback to verify
Hi Jono, I'm taking it you are not on your 4th Aerobase shelter but have tried 4 other types to get what you want. From our experience - we have experienced strong winds before. There are ample peg points to secure it to the ground so I don't think it blowing away is an issue.
The aerobase has inflatable pilliars that are combined with 4 flexible rods that start around 1.5 m from the ground and loop over to provide additional rigity.
So in in strong winds the shelter does have some flex - (like you are leaning on it) and can lean with the wind in extreme cases. If this becomes concerning we have removed air and the top half effectively lowers and can still be usable.
I expect in the same conditions a folding metal gazebo type would have risk of becoming a wing or bend some of the metal structures. The aerobase would bounce back in given its inflatable pillars.
I would feel more comfortable using this in strong winds that an folding metal type and if the winds got any stronger than where we were at the time - well its time to go elsewhere or pack up. Hope this helps.
Yes four other types of shelters. Weve had metal framing bend and even fibreglass poles break. The zempire shelter does employ 4x fibreglass poles. Its those im curious about if have stood up to some good winds or not. I can make assumptions but any real life actual experiences with this product a big help
