From my experience you need to call your local Zip serviceman, I have found their responses to be excellent.

Just remember these issues, the ridiculous price, the shyster service vans and the unreliability of a cheaply made product. I will advise everyone to brush up on Australian Consumer Law, make sure these crooks meet their statutory obligations and fix it. Think twice before parting with your hard earned cash on a ZIP product. Buy a jug.

Hi Dave j Thank you for your question. As we are unable to determine your model of your Mini Boil, we have provided instructions on 2 models below to assist you. Zip G4 Model: Press MENU on your screen. Press [filter reset]. Then press [Internal filter]. This will reset the counters and then take you back to the home screen.

Zip G3 Model: Press [MENU] Scroll through the menu until you see Filter Use (Days). Press [Adjust ] to re-set the timer. When asked are you sure? press [Adjust ] to confirm the command. After approx. 10 seconds the unit will default to the selected mode. The white filter light on the HydroTap should now stop flashing.

Hi, sounds like your tank is full of scale and needs to be replaced or descaled on red light are you using sleep mode?

Hello. I had the same issue a while back. First the solenoid had to be replaced. But then it was the hot water pump. Sometimes for some strange reason the safety on the hot tap would play up and would need to be rest. Replacing a solenoid is much cheaper than the water pump. I am waiting on insurance to replace my system as it no longer works at all

Thank you I pulled the entire unit down The pump impeller was a 1.5mm plastic shaft that has failed under the stress of continuous hot water. 3 years is poor reliability from Zip products with this capital cost. I am putting a new pump in for $80 however I may take the unit out of service and use a $20 boiling jug. This is the second issue I have had with the unit. The first issue was a $4 John Guest cold water inlet connector that let go and flooded our kitchen. Thank god we were home and have sealed floors.

Reece plumbing are Zip agents Pull the existing pump out and ask them for the same model You can buy offshore however at least if you get the wrong part, you can exchange it FOC. $80 was the cost Just need someone handy who is happy to pull the unit down and replace it.

Take your time. Take some photos before and use a marker to mark electrical connections and pipe just in case there is doubt

Takes about 1 hour.

Loosen the plastic straps that hold the foam insulation surrounding the hot water tank.

I put the new pump in and connected the zip partially assemble to check it filled (via 1 solenoid) and pumped water before fully putting back together

Despite fixing I have turned off. Seems like an overkill for 2 cups of boiling water per day.

Using a kettle now

Hi Claire, Thanks for the question! It shouldn't be a problem to replace the valve. Generally, all the system would need is a good drying out, before working fine again. hi aussiesmithy, sorry i can't help you with anything technical, i'm just an ordinary consumer who also purchased a zip. mine has never worked properly for very long in between multiple service calls and now zip has said they will replace my unit with a refurbished one. hope i don't get someone else's problems along with their used unit.
