Hi, I have a king sized fitted electric blanket. Bought 3 months ago. Neither of the controllers are working now. I have unplugged it but it doesn’t reset. Model number EHQ-03-Z. They don’t turn on at all. Is there something else I can do rather than return? Thanks :)

Why don’t Jason reply to these questions…a lot of them seem the same.

We bought a new Jason queen size electric blanket a few months ago. On one side the heat controller has stopped working. We have gone through all the recommended procedures and cannot find the answers. Unfortunately I don't have the receipt and not sure if the store will replace. What can I do

Dorothy we had the same issue, not once but twice. Both stopped working on one side with in 3 weeks. Ring the store and ask if they will give a credit. If you paid by card they should be able to look the sale up. Good luck.

Thanks Debbie. I should be able to track the bank transaction

Bought a Jason Wool Electric Blanket but nearly never worked. Exchanged once on the same day, for as soon as the blanket plug in, P keeps flashing. I can't be bothered to. However, last couple of days, decided to give another try, as it is very cold, at the end, spend nearly 300 dollars. but same P flashing again, no matter what I did, unplug, replug, switch on/off,... but doesn't work. Now, anyone got suggestion? Thanks.

I've only had my single blanket for 1.5 months so far, but you've described a manufacturers fault, as a double should heat both sides. I'd contact the supplier/store or the manufacturer for a refund or replacement. The warranty is usually for a year but there's also a reasonable expectation to last to a minimum of about 3 years IMO. Alternatively, try preheating the bed on setting 2 or 3 and see if that works properly.

I bought my Jason Luxury Electric blanket about 6 weeks ago from Spotlight Wendouree on sale for $180 .. both controllers flash P all the time, I'm finding it very frustrating having to unplug, re plug multiple times every night just to turn the blanket on. I honestly would appreciate a full refund. I have learnt after doing a Google search this is a very common problem with this product. I honestly don't have the time nor patience to be fiddling with the controller and power socket for up to an hour at times. For a product on sale for $180.00 I would expect it to work every time I turn it on. How do I get a full refund please ?

I purchased my Jason EB a few months ago, I had no problem with it until I tried to change the setting from 3 to 2 ( it’s a manual controller with only 3 settings) when the light started flickering and it let off a burnt smell. I didn’t know what it could be so I turned it off. Any ideas?

Hello Sami. I have one too, purchased from Spotlight. Disliked it after a couple of nights sleeping on it for a couple on nights when I noticed that the bruises on my elbow I was getting during sleep and moving around were caused by that connector connected at the edge of the electric blanket. I reported the problem back to Spotlight after a couple of weeks of discomfort and the pain I kept getting each time I bumped on that connector to the main and the switch was so hard to change selection from 1 to 3 and asked for replacement, I was told that they no longer have any electric blankets due to the end of winter season, but they did say I can return it if not 100% satisfied. But the season was still cold this year of 2022 and I told them I will keep it till it starts to become warmer. Unfortunately, it is November now and it is still cold and wet like winter. So, whatever happens, I don't care, I wouldn't recommend Jason brand because it is very unsafe at having the connector of the heating wires (elements) placed right where you sit and/or lay on the bed to sleep. And once you have laid on the bed, the connector is right near where your elbow is. Like me, you just can't avoid striking or bumping on it and get bruises, if you get the picture on what I mean. Plus, changing temperature on the controller is a pain in the butt, because the controller body and switch is hard to change the temperature, as the body, including the switch often slips out of hand, and you have to hold it with two hands if you want to successfully change the settings. Soon it becomes a nightmare than a sound sleeping. In my case, seeing that it is still cold, I still use the Jason EB and switch it off once the bed is warm. But when in bed, I have to move far away from that large connector block because I feel that if I tease it at night through movements and rotation from right to left and vice versa, I might strike it to disconnect the connector plug and then I get electrocuted or cause a fire in my sleep. Just to make sure what connector block plug I am talking about; it is the plug coming from the switch that is then connected in the connector port on the bed. And I feel that if this block gets a teasing, the plug could separate from the connector block and may catch fire.

A word of note: In the past, electric blankets had the connecting blocks always at the very corner of an electric blanket to avoid disturbing them and the switch was small, round and wide enough to handle, and the switch was simple to turn on or off at any temperature settings. And I remember as a kid, that those connectors also had wires exposed after years of use, but they still worked safely.

Incidents of a blanket catching fire was very rare.

As for the flickering light that you say let off a burnt smell, it depends on what the smell was like.

If the light flickers, get rid of it, as these things are probably imports from China and China has the fasted production in the world, leading to countless mistakes and poor-quality control that often leads to product failure. That is why they're cheap. If the burnt smell is elsewhere, that may be the connector block where the blanket wires are connected and have been 'teased' for some time till one of them could have been pulled out and the filament inside the wire (the plastic coated filament of each wire) has made contact with the fabric and may have burned a bit of it that has caused the burnt smell. Also, about the smell, if it smelled like Ozone, e.g., like an electrical spark, then it's in the connector block or it is in the switch as you tried to change from 1, 2, 3. Whatever it is, I suggest you remove it and return to store. In other words, don't risk yourself of an electrocution, or fire.

I have a Jason electric blanket less than 6 months old / one side has stopped working. Bought it to replace one that lasted around 1 year before same thing happened. Are these blankets really so short lived? Fed up

I've had problems this year also where mine stopped working after only a couple of months but my previous one lasted 4 years, which was great. That one I bought from Spotlight whereas this year I bought from Big W. Not sure if that has anything to do with it!
