HOWEVER when the power was switched on it instantly fried. The refrigeration engineers apologised and said they'd need to speak to Daikin. They phoned Daikin for a few days but Daikin never returned there call. So I phoned Daikin and got through after a long wait. I have now been given a job number and was told due to the fact of a long wait list, my unit may not be looked at until a long delay (until my job number comes up). A Daikin technician called and told me he has to order the parts. I have talked to the Daikin Technician and he's still waiting for parts. This is a brand new install in the middle of winter. This is one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. Daikin products are junk and fry instantly one powered. Daikin service is terrible to deal with. There whole service process stinks. If I new what I know now, I would never have bought Daikin. Beware!!!! By a different brand. Look at the Daikin Product review Page, it says it all. Poor product, poor service.
Update, Daikin has fully repaired my unit with all new electronics. I feel I was way too harsh now and I apologise to Daikin. Daikan stood behind their warranty.

replacement wires please. (3 or 4 of) Previously I have purchased the pleated filter direct from your spare parts, but now I am being told I need to do through a dealer to purchase spare Ionizer Wires? I find this incredibly frustrating - can you please organize me to purchase direct through Daikin- having to go through a dealer will be incredibly inconvenient and not possible- Why do you sell a product and provide such difficult service to get replacement parts? All i need are 4 replacement ionizer wires for my air purifier.... if this is the case, I will no longer be purchasing your brand anymore as replacement parts from other brands are much easier to source without the difficulty and run around. Such a disappointment when I am expected to go through a dealer but they arent open due to COVID restrictions.. this is just not good enough .... Very disappointed !! Why is it so hard to get these?

installed back correctly.
But the problem is still on going and become worse.
Now, it makes a CLIK sound when we turn it off. The sound could keep continuing for 2 mins..... Non stop ....and then show up every 1 min till the machine is really closed.
I know that US7 needs longer time to shot down. But with the CLIK sound.....No, I couldnt accept that ......it couldn't be right. There must be something wrong.
If you don't have the really perffectional engineer in AU to do the service, then you might need to ask for the help from Japan. Isn't it?
I believe that Japan's engineer could find out what wrong this this machine.
It might a install problem. Once the machine didn't been installed in correct way, it will make the noise and can't be quiet as the AD told us.
It might be caused by incorrect service. We had been serviced by several people who is not really know about US7. If they don't know, how could they do the service in right way.
Actually we had 2 Daikin split system ... Both are not recommended. In other country, Daikin provide an better service than in AU. No recommend you to buy.
In my country, once your air condition had any strange noise, CLIK sound, humming noise.... Daikin always help to solve the problems. If the problem can't be fixed, they will change a new air condition for you directly.
In AU... I bought this aircon in 2017 and in day one I had told them something wrong with the machine. They sent the engineer to check and also find the humming noise... It's not a normal sound from the aircon. But the engineer still insist ed the machine hasn't any operating issue. The machine is no problem.
In fact, we ask for service to fix many problem every year. Not a big problem, but annoying problems. No one has so many time to handle same problem every year.

leak with the connection to the unit and it will cost $1000 to fix. Really? That’s more than it cost to be installed including copper and electrical. I’ve never had a full season from this unit since it was installed and with a potential $1k bill to tighten the connections and refill I’m very disappointed. My Fujitsu which is just a backup just works. Update: As per the rest of the unsatisfactory Daikin Product reviews I held back my review to give Daikin a chance to respond. I was given a link to complete a request to Daikin which I completed 6 days ago. They promised to get back to me with in 1-2 days and I have not heard anything from them so I now feel it is fair to publish my review now. Daikin representatives continue to dissapoint me.

Daikin inverter. The compressor has apparently failed after 6 years and nine months which is outside the 5 year warranty on compressor. Repair is almost $5000 with no guarantee that it won’t require more parts when they repair it or that something else won't fail. Given the failure, I must say that the Daikin premium is an absolute rubbish air conditioning product and 10 year warranty is worthless when compressor fails. Replacement system is expected to be $8000+ (installed) with new manufacturer warranty so I can not see any benefit in trying to have it repaired. The Daikin inverter should have lasted at least double the time it has, given information about inverters. This was purchased in late 2017 so no supply issues but obviously just cheap parts sold at premium price. Daikin may have once been good but their Premium Inverter is rubbish as far as I am concerned which seems to be the case with other reputable manufactures who also produce rubbish products. They all keep reducing cost until the product is absolute rubbish and at the same time throw away their once great reputation for producing high quality products. Also if this failure was unusual or unexpected, you think the company offer some assistance to maintain its reputation but nothing

range very frustrating to live with. It seems to be a design or manufacturing fault which cannot be rectified. Highly suggest looking at other brands if you can. Apart from this design flaw, the unit cools and heats well. More info below.
We got 3x 2.5kw Daikin Alira X units installed at our home. We opted for the Alira X units as the more "premium" option vs. other brands. However, when the indoor unit is running, there is a constant electrical whine - a high pitched noise that gets louder as the fan level is increased. Given I installed it in bedrooms and my home office (which are quiet environments), the noise is very noticeable and results in breaking focus/ear irritation.
Since noticing this issue (which occurs on all 3 of our units including a unit that Daikin tried to fix), I have tried to replicate the issue with other brands. The Actron in our living area does not do this, and other models in hotels/other houses do not have the same issue. I can only replicate it on our Alira X units.
I tried to measure the frequency and it seems to land in the 4-6khz range (example noise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cx1VQISKvhc).
It seems to be related to the electrical componentry that powers the main fan, as the noise gets markedly worse when increasing the fan level.
Other minor issues include recurring rattling/vibrating on the housing which is resolved by a quick tap to the side of the indoor unit, until it recurs.

To be honest, I wouldn't have paid the extra money for the freestanding variant if it wasn't my only option. It's bulkier than wall-mounted systems and not particularly pretty. The cooling seems to be the same quality and efficiency as my wall-mounted split system (very good). This model is very quiet and brings down/up the temperature quickly. I bought this through Absolute Cool in Toowoomba, who also installed it. They were excellent to deal with.

Two visits from the installer, four visits from Daikin analysing replaced a few bits and 3 months later after paying for this thing in full it still doesn’t work. Daikin Alira

when considering a new AC. Usually I’d consider more mainstream brands like Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy industry, Panasonic, Fujitsu etc. I had to replace my other failing (ironically Daikin) AC and a couple of things were of importance to me: Price, Energy efficiency and total cost of installation. To my huge surprise Daikin was in the top 3 choices. Then I decided to add a couple of hundred of $$$ and go for the more energy efficient and allegedly the better model - Alira (Cora was a default choice). Thinks I don’t like: 1. Indoor unit design isn’t particularly pretty for the asking price. 2. Daikin didn’t have an onboard option for Energex energy saver device (other brands do) - had to pay extra. 3. If you ever contact Daikin support they will try to help you, but also will try to do everything to avoid the warranty claim (not directly, but thru their installers network). While it is kind of “normal” I’d expect more softness from the brand that pitch themselves as premium. Things I like: 1. The price is right - not sure what is so premium about the Daikin, but it costs the same or less than other ACs with the similar energy efficiency. 2. Quiet operation for both indoor and outdoor units. 3. Decent energy efficiency for 5Kw model. 4. Heats up and cools down quickly and evenly. 5. Great support in Australia.
Below, I’ve attached my video review that takes a slightly different angle to the “review”. It includes tips, tricks and points of consideration. Here it is: https://youtu.be/stqKbS790vE
After all, I'd recommend the Daikin Alira FTXM50U to anyone who is on the market for 5Kw AC if your budget can afford it.

keeping an eye on them not to block gates etc but controls was a bit of let down which took a few days to get sensors and wifi sorted out and installed. Using the Daikin Airhub controller as apparently required for underfloor units to monitor possible gas leaks. After one month quite pleased. Not really cold or hot in that time so certainly has no trouble maintaining desired temperature. Only need low fan speed and ideally would like to be able to set the fan speed a bit lower to be a bit quieter. Will be interesting to compare energy bills next winter. The Airhub is okay and works fine with the App on phone though have not tried it away from the house.. Minor complaints are that is has a huge screen which only shows the setpoint but for some reason doesn't show the actual temperature. Also it doesn't recognise daylight saving so manual time change is required which seems odd in this day and age. A 20 year old controller I have does this automatically.

to the roof insulation and ducting I had initially installed. Well I replaced the insulation and the ducting put in a new Daikin and after buying over time at least six Daikins ( and one Fujitsu) for various properties and thinking they are market leaders Im of the view I would never buy another. You can only go by the company agents advice, They see the space and make recommendations. On the positive the cooling is much more effective than it was in the old machine but the heating is very poor and patchy.

arranged in the ceiling for servicing. However due to the gas leak and needs for the coils to be replaced to fix the manufacturers fault under warranty the roof has to come off. Daikin are unwilling to pay my builder to do this. I think it is pretty poor after spending thousands that I or my builder am out of pocket for this as it is not my fault. Also I haven’t had heating all winter. I recommend do not buy Daikin. The installers have told me this is becoming an issue.

Faulty product – This is now the 3rd Daikin air purifier that I have owned which has developed an issue with the streamer unit turning itself off for no explainable… Read more
reason. This results in the unit not removing smells, or cleaning the air like Daikin claim it will.
I originally purchased an MC30YPVM towards the start of last year and within 2 months it had developed an issue where the streamer function would not operate and the unit would make a strange click sound when the issue was happening. I had the first faulty unit replaced by the retailer ourchased from and the second unit developed the same identical issue within 4-5 months of actually using it.
I then contacted Daikin to report the issue to them directly as I had bought through a retailer. Daikin were kind enough to offer me an upgrade to the MC40YPVM and they would collect the faulty unit to study. It was not a straightforward process to have the faulty unit collected and was an embarrassment on Daikin's behalf, if I'm honest. I was left in the dark for close to 2 weeks after the courier did not collect the faulty air purifier when delivering the replacement, like I was told would clearly happen by the Daikin staff member [Name Removed].
The upgraded/replacement MC40YPVM which I received on the 7th June 2023 has now showed signs of the same fault with the streamer unit. I've heard the streamer click off 3 times prior to today where I heard it do it again and I instantly switched the air purifier into TURBO mode and the streamer again clicked off and just repeats trying to turn on and then off (hiss, then click, then nothing, then hiss, then click, then nothing and so on, in other words its stuffed and will only get worse like the last 2 units did... Shame.
I have contacted Daikin and I will try to get a refund for the original MC30YPVM and I will never touch a Daikin product again, as this is clearly a faulty product (their streamer technology).
When the streamer unit starts hissing, within a second, or seconds (it's random) you hear a click sound from within the unit and the streamers hissing sound stops - its easy to hear this and it's clear the streamer isn't working after it clicks off and then it just repeats this over and over again.
The air purifier will not remove odours when the streamer is not working, nor will it break down all the substances that make this air purifier better than many others.
Page 1 of the user manual states that Daikin air purifiers rely on their "streamer technology" to remove odours and break down substances in the air. If the streamer feature is not working, it means you have a simple air purifier with a basic HEPA filter that WON'T control/break down: • Mould • Pollen • Allergens such as dust mite droppings and remains • Odours • Formaldehyde • Diesel particulate matter • NOx
If you choose to buy a Daikin air purifier, please make sure you listen to your air purifier when you forst get it to familiarise yourself with the correct sound when it stremer is operating and again after a few months to see if the streamer unit still works correctly. Since I have personally had 3 units fail within months of receiving each unit, I will not touch another Daikin product ever again after this and I will be doing all I can to make sure the ACCC take this issue seriously, as I have more than enough evidence to prove a fault and email conversation between Daikin and myself where they admit the issue is not normal and "could not be replicated by our team" hence why they wanted the second faulty unit back (the first went back to the retailer).
This has clearly left a bitter taste in my mouth, especially since these Daikin air purifiers should have been the perfect device, thats if they worked for longer than a few months! The fact you don't need to replace the filter every 6 months or less was the biggest selling point for me, however, if the streamer feature isn't doing its job, the filter won't stay clean and will not last anywhere near 10 years, nor does the air purifier break down substances in the air or on the filter.
Unless I can find a different company that make an air purifier that has long lasting filters, I will most likely go without and that's a real shame as I need one to address my allergies and all of the Daikin units SHOULD HAVE BEEN perfect, such a bloody shame they aren't fit for purpose.
