I just bought my second Aldi mower. I can’t remember when I got the first but it is at least six and possibly ten years old. It has worked flawlessly… Read more

until yesterday when I couldn’t restart it after refuelling. I may have used contaminated fuel (mixed with diesel) but there seems to be little compression. I checked with the bore scope and the inlet valve seems heavily gooped with black material. My fault. At $299 this mower is a steal. Sadly, cheaper to buy a new one than pay for repairs, although I will have a crack myself.

Power Force Pool Vacuum Cleaner – I'm giving this a 5 star based on performance, value and maintenance. I have waited for 6 months to write the review to see if it holds up. So far… Read more

so good. I have read a number of bad reviews and I am surprised however I must say there is a fair bit of tinkering to do in terms of suction balance and hose management to get it to peak performance. For example if it is not doing your walls then your suction is too low, won't come off the walls too high. Sticks in a corner twist the hose until you get it flowing. All sounds obvious and trivial but it makes a difference. The system is simple, solid and the diaphragm lasts which is more than I can say for the zodiac T5 where I (at least) went through a diaphragm ever 3 - 4 months. For half the price, half the maintenance and superior performance I definitely recommend the power force over the T5 or the MX6 for that matter which I find cleans beautifully but was costing me about $75 every 6 months on parts not to mention the price tag...

I bought my unit three years ago for $129 - a returned item. I bought it expecting a small challenge - and it presented itself in the form of a carb… Read more

that needed cleaning. Cleaned it, and worked well - $129 for 6 tools on a 2 stroke engine is cheap.

Engine fires up within 3 pulls if tuned properly and the correct sequence is followed. It is a heavy unit - but the engine is 32cc vs 25cc of other lighter units. My carb did experience a blockage, and I seized the engine. While looking at how much money I would need.... realised I could order replacement parts from China. $32 later and got a new cylinder engine and fitted it, ran it in and now it starts 1st or 2nd pull!

For the price, the unit is adequate - if you expect Stihl quality (over $2K for $200 that is not possible) - and is durable. The most used item is the hedger and the pruning saw which helps keep taller branches out of the way.

The market is saturated with X in 1 multitools - these are just clones of the same product with some tweaks / different stickers. Most parts are interchangeable from the supply chain - just search on Aliexpress or amazon.

Why did I give it 4 stars then? While I am happy for the cost, something went wrong. The little wire tang that connects the accelerator cable broke - it is flimsy as, and while there are ways to repair it, the only way to repair is by buying a whole handle. Bit overkill needing a cable end yet spend $30 for a whole handle.

If you are on a budget - worth it, but you may need to troubleshoot a bit should things go wrong.

Good looking unit for the price but it will not cut lawn lawn like Santa anna or Casablanca. I mow every week but any setting beyond the second… Read more

highest grass setting causes the machine to die and turn off after ripping up lawn before it shuts off. Then need to wait a minute before it works again. My lawn gets mowed every week and is in good condition. This mower is only good for light cut which makes a mockery of the 7 height settings.

We bought this a few years ago and put it away, and didn't end up using it till this weekend. We read the instructions, assembled the little that… Read more

needed assembly. The painter primed when switched on (return line flowing), but when we turned the dial to "Spray" we got nothing. The pump was still on, but nothing was happening. We turned the dial back to prime and got nothing. We checked that there were no blockages, and tried again - nothing. We've had it too long to take back so it's in the recycling bin without ever actually working. Complete rubbish. I am one and done with Ferrex.

Waste of money – Opened the gun after 2 years of owning and doesn't fire nail or staples. Air bypasses and hammer doesn't retract. This tool is useless.

Ideal for push bike and motorcycle. Works for car & caravan – I use this for my motorcycle which often needs just another 5 psi before a ride without having to set up my air compressor. I take it with me on a… Read more

tour and check my tyres each day before heading off. I just crossed Australia and used it for my car and caravan tyres, though it’s a bit slower for them, but never overheated. Didn’t need a recharge in two months. Gives the exact same pressure readings as two different tyre pressure readers. Love it & only AU$40.

12 month review of Gardenline mini garden bed - rust has started on the inside of the garden bed with a lot of the bottom inside layer of paint… Read more

coming off, no good for my organic no dig garden attempt. As with other reviews will be rusted out within 2 years, but it was a very cheap product so maybe I should only expect poor quality.. I purchased a larger garden bed, different brand, from a hardware store that shows no sign of paint lifting after 12 months, but it was way more expensive. The photo shows the garden bed upside down with the paint hosed off and the rust showing, some rust on the outside but only where it touched the ground. I didn’t think of it before but the garden bed may have a dirt allergy …….

AN EASY TO USE TYRE COMPRESSOR - FERREX MINI COMPRESSOR – Tried out the Ferrex Mini Compressor today. Bought it at Aldi for $79.99 on 23/10/2023. Used it on an old wheelbarrow tyre. Set the pressure for… Read more

20psi, then 25, then 26. Switched on and pumped up. Checked the tyre pressure with a stick tyre gauge. As I often accidentally let air out when putting the stick on to measure pressure, I had to repeat the processes several times. The gauge appears to be accurate as can be seen in the 2 photos showing the compressor and then the stick. I’ll check against car tyre pressures when in town next. Will be useful for my car and van tyres. PROS: easy to use (and easier than another compressor I have) appears to be accurate can set required tyre pressure all cords and adaptors are held in compartments on the machine cables and hose are long enough compact fair price easy to read digital screen light weight at 1.0 kg 3 year warranty C0NS: can’t think of any.

At this stage I highly recommend it. 5 stars.

connection burred within 30 seconds of use. I've been using my socket set for the past 30 years so I very much doubt there's an issue there. The 9mm socket was a very loose fit but was the closest fit in my socket set. 8mm was too small and as for imperial sockets, 11/32 was a looser fit than the 9mm while 5/16 socket was also too small.

Some areas of my yard have clay like soil. If this product can't handle this type of soil, it should have said so on the packaging and that it's only suitable for soft soils.
