Do I have to put water in if I'm only using air fryer and not steamer?
Hi Andrea, I'm sorry I can't help you, my unit is not a Steam version... I do hope someone else has an answer for you...
For starters, the product has been decent, I bought it from Aldi less than a year ago. Problem, the electronic touch screen has failed in part. You can no longer see the main function switch to turn the machine on or off. The machine still operates when you guess correctly where the switch is. To rectify this, this appears ridiculous. Firstly there is no returns for the Ambiano Steam Air Fryer 7L that I can see, so I doubt you can get a board delivered or have an electronic person to fix it. Second there is nowhere on the Aldi site to make a complaint about this or to get any person from that chain of stores to assist and rectify the situation. There is no phone number to ring customer enquires to find out what to actually do with this product. In fact it would appear Aldi does not what anyone near being able to complain nor get in touch with anyone within the organisation perse so they can ignore all of these complaints. The only thing I can find on the inter web to rectify this is where it says you must lug your broken product all the way to an Aldi store to be told it’s stuffed, here’s your money back and Oh by the way the company that made that machine stopped making that machine 2 years ago, so good luck with that. In essence all I want is for the screen to work as advertised. Will anyone from Aldi read this, I doubt it, will anyone from Aldi get in touch with to fix this, definitely not, so that begs the question, why the hell do we buy anything from this chain if there’s no back up customer service period.
It has a 3 years warranty. Walk back into the shop and claim it. So lazy...
Yeah good on ya moron. I tried that as the 1st thing and was told to drive to where I bought it from originally which is hundreds of KMs away. End of the day Aldi came to the party and eventually refunded the money for the product and I got to give the product back to my closest store. This was aprocess that could and should have had a simple outcome but it took a long while to sort out. So before you know the reasons why what who when and where. Keep your remarks to yourself peanut
How do you dry the water chamber on the top of the Fryer? It does not seem, to be able to pull apart.
When steaming food the condensation is collected in basket and not in the condensation tray , is this normal?

The inside of this air fryer is metal so I did not detect any "plastic smell" when cooking and certainly not when eating. Are you sure you took out the plastic bag with the instructions in it? I don't get any plastic smell from my reverse cycle air conditioner and it is all plastic.
I also get a metal smell from this ambiano air fryer even after following the instructions with washing. It's passed on a metal taste to my daughters food. Can't seem to get rid of it. How long will this last?

Hi I bought this in October, 2022.I tried air fryer and steamer for the first time. Currently the leakage happened. Please see my profile picture. It shows there was leakage at the place where the water tank sits. I followed the instructions, take out the water tank and add 850ml water, tight the water tanknuts, then put back . After 15 minutes steaming, the water leakage is at the place where water tank sits. Why? Is it a quality problem?
1. Can I put an aluminium tray in steam air fryer? 2. Does the water tank need to be full if I'm only using air fryer mode?
There are 3 modes: 1) steam 2) air fryer 3) combo of steam and air fryer. The water tank works only on 1 and 3. When you select mode air fryer don’t worry if there is water or not… About the aluminium tray, I have never used, but I think there is no problem.
