Hi I just wanted to know if the aptamil gold plus 1 suitable for vegetarian and Does it contain animal fat? Please let me know. Thank you
Hi Zoya, the HA contains vit D from sheep lanolin and omega fats from fish oils. We also use pig enzymes to hydrolise this protein but there is no enzyme in the final product. Please call us on 1800 438 500 if you need more help. Regards, Hilary
Hi Hilary, thank you so much for the reply. Could you please suggest me a formula that doesn’t contain pig enzyme.
Hi Zoya, our standard formulas such as Aptamil Gold+, Karicare+, Aptamil Profutura, Aptamil Essensis do contain the vit D from sheep lanolin and omega fats from fish oils but as they are not hydrolysed no pig enzymes are used in the production of these formulas. Please call us on 1800 438 500 if you need more help. Regards, Lucie - Careline Midwife
Hi lucie, Thank you for the help and I’m still confused about Aptamil gold + 1 which is 0 - 6 months I’m using it for 5 months old baby. Someone told me aptamil gold+1 contain pig fats as well and could you let me know if that’s true or not. Thanks again kind regards
Hi Zoya, if you are referring to the standard formula Aptamil Gold+ 0-6 months, please be reassured that there is no pig enzyme involved as it does not undergo any hydrolyzation process . Kind regards, Janice - Nutricia Careline
Dear Zoya, Hope you are well. Referring to the pork situation, I would like to mention that, what is not halal concerning the pork is the flesh of the animal according to the Qur'an since it was not clean/pure enough at the time that the book was revealed. It has nothing to the with the enzymes of it. Please also do remember that pork itself is an animal like any other animal and is a sign of the creator as well. Thank you and best wishes for you and your baby.
Hi .. I would like to know Aptamil gold + colic and constipation is halal ?
Hi, Currently none of our products are Halal certified. However, when sourcing raw materials we do source Halal certifiable ingredients as far as possible. However none of the ingredients we buy are actually certified as Halal for us since this involves additional cost for us.
Thank you so much for your answer.. it much appreciated but I would like to know by any chance is any material from pork?
Hi Jesmin, Aptamil Colic and Constipation is a partially hydrolysed product and we use an enzyme derived from pigs in the production. The enzyme breaks down the milk protein. However the enzyme is not present in the formula as the enzyme is separated from the formula by filtering. The enzyme is not listed on the ingredient list as it is not part of the formula. - Regard, Janice - Reg Dietitian
Thank you to make it clear.
Dear Jesmin, Hope you are well. Referring to the pork situation, I would like to mention that, what is not halal concerning the pork is the flesh of the animal according to the Qur'an since it was not clean/pure enough at the time that the book was revealed due to the technological advancements.. It has nothing to the with the enzymes of it. Please also do remember that pork itself is an animal like any other animal and is a sign of the creator as well. Thank you and best wishes for you and your baby.

Hi, is Aptamil syneo sensitive halal?
Hi Sharmin, Currently none of our products are Halal certified. However, when sourcing raw materials we do source Halal certifiable ingredients as far as possible. Our hydrolysed products such as the Aptamil Prosyneo Sensitive however is not considered Halal appropriate due to the hydrolysation process. Please feel free to call our careline on 1800 438 500 (AUS) or 0800 438 500 (NZ) if you would like to discuss further. Kind regards, Saskia

Hello, I have noticed across 2 tins of the Gold 1, that there are black specks in the bottle. I read online that this is due to overcooked formula when it is converted from liquid to solid & then when water is added it becomes visible. I don’t feel comfortable feeding my newborn overcooked formula. Can you please advise?
Hi Esha, please give us a call on 1800 060 057 so that we can help you in this matter. Lucie - Careline Midwife
Is aptamil gold plus 0 to 6 months halal ?

Hi again, I've just seen that you have asked about the Aptamil HA product. In order to produce our hydrolysed formulas we use an enzyme derived from pigs. The enzyme breaks down the milk protein. However the enzyme is not present in the formula as the enzyme is separated from the formula by filtering. The enzyme is not listed on the ingredient list as it is not part of the formula. Is aptamil gold halal??
Our Standard Aptamil Gold + formulas are suitable for Halal. The Aptamil Gold + HA (and Prosyneo Sensitive - new name for HA) on this post is not suitable as it uses a pork enzyme in the hydrolysation process. If you would like more information please contact us at the Careline 1800438500. Sue Nutritionist
Can this new prosyneo component cause allergy to babies? my baby's nose was a bit swollen after first bottle of this milk, she has been on Aptamil HA Gold for last 11 months without any issues. Please help.
Hi Giselle, we have added a probiotic to the formula which should not have any impact on your baby's nose. Please call the Careline on 1800 438 500 to discuss this further.
My baby was having Aptamil HA and we were happy but since having this new sensitive aptamil (which is upgraded version) gave my baby conspitation.

I was transitioning baby from Nan optipro 1 to aptamil gold ha 1 as suggested by a paediatrician who was treating my baby's eczema. During transitioning period, had nan optipro 50% and 50% of aptamil gold ha mixed during each feed. Everything seems normal except for the stinky farts, bowel movements abt twice a day. Now the transitioning period was over and she was totally on aptamil gold ha since 2 days ago and she started to have watery green poos after each feed which would leak out frm her diaper. Does this means she is not suitable to this formula or is it just a new phase? I am thinking whether i shld change to other brands of ha formulation milk instead.
My twin babies are having Aptamil HAGold for 6 months and they enjoy and growing ok. One day a Chemist Warehouse staff told me that product is for allergy baby which worried me because my babies don’t seem allergy to anything. I also found on their website this product “is not suitable for general use and should be used under medical supervision.”
I would like to ask is this product only for allergy babies? Should I change to other formula and be worried when my babies have had for 6 months?
I found this on Chemist website and similar on Coles: “It is designed for babies at risk of allergy and is suitable for babies with a family history of allergy.” And “Aptamil Gold+ HA is not suitable for general use and should be used under medical supervision.” external link
Hi I’ve started my son on this formula, is it likely to constipate him? How often should they be pooping
Hi Liv, This product is 100% whey based and partially broken down making it easy to digest and can be helpful for babies prone to digestive issues like constipation, therefore we don't expect a baby to have constipation on this formula. The frequency of which a baby passes bowel motions can be anywhere between multiple times a day to once every 5-7 days sometimes and is very normal as long as the consistency of the bowel motion is normal. Constipation is considered hard rabbit pellet like poos. Please feel free to contact us at the Nutricia Careline on 1800 438 500 (AUS) or 0800 438 500 (NZ) to discuss further if you need. Hi.. been using this for my son since he was 5 days old as suggested by midwife (there is no known problem on my son) ,now 6 months have switch to normal formula for 2 weeks now but has been having a bit runny & poop few times a days. Thinking that is the cause of switching, but is 2 weeks shpuld be more than enough for poo go back to normal?Anyone have the same expirience?
Is aptamil gold+ halal?
How long did it take for your child to adjust when switching formulas? My 6 month old daughter has just changed 5 days ago and is pooing 3-4 times a day and they smell bad , is this normal?
I was breastfeeding at the time but using formula when it was necessary so didn’t change much. My other son was easy with any formula so it wasn’t an issue for me. With regards to the poo I would think that that is normal but it’s best to speak to the doctor if it’s smelling really bad. It might be something Else causing it but I wouldn’t worry too much if your child seems fine.
