Is there a way to turn off the beeping noises?
Does this model have app access
Hi Jenny,
There's no Wi-Fi or App access to this model.
Although we do range two models that have App and Wi-fi, they are: WINIX True HEPA Smart 4-Stage WINIX ZERO+ 360 5-STAGE AIR PURIFIER (SKU: WXAP800W)
Thank you
Is there anyway to turn off the air quality indicator light but still have it on medium fan speed? When I sleep I'm happy for it to run louder but wasn't too turn off the blue light.. switching it to sleep mode turns off the light, but it also lowers the speed so that doesn't work
Unfortunately not, I also have the same concern but I just put it on sleep mode at night.
Hi Simon, you are correct that when Sleep Mode is activated, the Air Quality Indicator LED light is disabled but this will lower the fan speed. You may like to use Auto Mode as Sleep Mode is automatically activated when the Light Sensor detects that the room is dark. Your air purifier will have already cleansed the air in your bedroom prior to lights out, and you will be assured of whisper quiet operation for a great night's sleep.
Thanks for your answer. I would like the fan to run on high but with lights off. Is there such option?
Not on this model Simon, but our ZERO+ PRO 5-stage Air Purifier does have this function.
Hi Winix, I bought your product a few days ago to tackle a dust issue after moving into a new rental. So far it has been nothing short of brilliant at mitigating the dust problem and improving my breathing, however, after a few days of use I noticed a sound that previously didn’t exist coming from the machine. There seems to be a slight rattle within the fan system, I’d almost compare it to the sound of a cat purring. This sound is most prominent in sleep mode, making it not ideal for leaving it on whilst trying to sleep. I was just wondering if this developed sound is inherent in the product? Or if this is a fault?
Cheers
Hi Nicholas, please contact us on 1800 122 100 or email customerservice@ausclimate.com.au so that we can help you.
I've just bought one today. It worked well at first. But after about 2 hours in Auto/Medium mode (with light indicator on), it changed to Auto/Sleep (light indicator off). Is that normal? This happens everytime. I had to change the mode back to Auto/Medium again or have it running in manual to be able to clean the air.
Hi Mark. Thanks for your feedback. Our Zero+ Pro 5-Stage model has a light sensor in it which can sense whether the lights are turned on or not. If it is night time and the lights are turned off, or it is placed in a dark area of the room, the unit will think it is night time and will enter a sleep mode.
Thanks.
Thank you very much for letting me know. For that case, I guess that I will have it in manual while watching TV in dim light room
Will you match Amazon price. $539 free delivery
Hi Ralph Sorry, we do not price match against our approved retailers. Retailers, like Amazon, manage their own sale prices. In saying that, if you wish to call Ausclimate for advice before you buy and find it cheaper elsewhere, then that’s no problem at all. You’re still entitled to the same excellent customer service from Ausclimate regardless of where you buy our products. And even if you had purchased elsewhere and require help at a later date then again, you are more than welcome to call us first. Regards Ausclimate
How many grams / KG of activated carbon does this purifier have ? Other manufacturers mention this but can’t find info from winix
Hi Jamie Activated carbon can come in many forms, some being palletised carbon (coconut shell base used for the Zero 4 Stage), granulated carbon, powder carbon or corrugated. The palletised or granulated carbon may be measured in weight however the corrugated type, which is used in the Zero+ Pro is extremely lightweight (similar feel to cardboard) compared to other types. All Winix Activated carbon filters are tested using a wide range of chemicals and whilst results can vary slightly such as 99.9% or 99% they are all very effective at removing harmful VOCs. Hope this helps. Regards Allan Ausclimate
What is the CADR? It is listed by every other purifier manufacturer and you don't have it even in your description, specifications sheet or user manual. Makes it very hard to chose your product as it seems you are hiding a bad cadr.
Hello Cam, thank you for your question. The Winix models sold in Australia are specifically designed for safe use here, and in fact are warranted only for Australian use. AHAM CADR is an American system used to help users of American sold air purifiers to understand performances. In Australia we generally refer to airflow rates. As example the Zero+ Pro model has airflow rates ranging from 2.4 airflow (m3/min) on low fan speed through to 6.7 airflow (m3/min) on turbo fan speed. If you are looking for an approx comparison using the AHAM CADR system, you might wish to review a Winix American sold model HR1000, which has 264 (dust), 258 (smoke) and 301 (pollen). We hope this is of assistance.
Thanks Allan. Sorry about the attitude in the initial question. Samsung AX90 - 701 m3/hr - $1000 - 3 stage Samsung AX60 - 467 m3/hr - $800 - 3 stage Winix 5 stage - 402 m3/hr - $785 - 5 stage Breville LAP500 - 337 m3/hr - $580 - 4 stage Phillips 1000 - 270 m3/hr - $349 - 3 stage
Leaving info above incase it's helpful to anyone else. Model - airflow - RRP - stages
Thank you Cam for your summarised comments. Hello Winix support, I own six of these units and am very happy with them. Can you advise the actual air flow rate or clean air delivery rate for this machine on all settings, that is low, medium, high and turbo. Many thanks, Marg H.
Hello Marg, it's great to hear you are so happy with our Winix air purifiers. The ZERO+ PRO 5-stage Air Purifier can be used in all rooms up to 120m² with a very powerful CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) of 470m³ per hour. This air purifier has an air flow rate of 2.4 (m3/min) on low fan speed up to airflow rate of 6.7 (m3/min) on turbo fan speed.
Does this work with vaping/E-cigarettes?
Is this product an Australian make?
Hi Shirley The Winix range of air purifiers are manufactured by Winix in South Korea. Importantly, our range, like the Zero+ Pro 5 Stage is specifically manufactured for Australian conditions, as well as Australian Standards. If you would like further clarification, please don’t hesitate to contact us at: customerservice@ausclimate.com.au. Regards Ausclimate
What size room will this air purifier cover? Is it good for 9m x6.6m? Is it suitable for combustion wood heated rooms?
Hello Deidre, the optimal room size for the Winix Zero 4 stage air purifier is rated at 38.2 square metres. I note that your stated room size is approx 59 square metres. However as comparison, I use my Zero 4 stage air purifier in quite a large area (our main bedroom with walk-in robes & ensuite) and it works very effectively in this 50+ square metre area. It sounds from your question that you would be using it in a larger lounge/living area, so I'd suggest looking at the Winix Zero 5 stage air purifier just to ensure you get best performance. We use this more powerful model in our own lounge/living/kitchen area and run it 24/7 - again very effectively, in an area bigger than yours. And yes, it is suited to combustion wood heated rooms. Hi guys I need to replace my filters WHERE TO BUY THANKS
Hi Lavender You can purchase direct from Ausclimate external link Otherwise there are selected retailers which you can also find at external link Hope this helps. Regards Allan Ausclimate
Get ready for the sting for there filter prices
$218 is way over the top expensive. Save tour money and buy a Phillips 3000 as there filter is only $150 and performs better
Hi chefgav73 Thank you for bringing this to our attention, I would also like to add a couple of points on our filter prices. You are correct, the GJ filter value pack (RRP $169) plus the additional Pet filter (GU) has a total RRP of $218.00 however if you join Ausclimate’s Filter Club, you receive a 20% discount off all filter RRPs. The Filter Club is free and easy to join. I have copied the link for full details external link Our filters are also available through selected retailers who often have their own discounts too. Regarding other brands, I would like to point out that they are not all the same quality, many not meeting the Australian Health Standards for HEPA filters. All Winix HEPA filters are ‘hospital grade’, meaning they meet these high health standards. Something very important when considering purchasing an air purifier. For anyone who would like further clarification on prices, Filter Club or product quality please don’t hesitate to contact us at customerservice@ausclimate.com.au or call 1800 122 100 Regards Allan Ausclimate
Yes I’d like to ask why the filter cost half the price of the device. It’s crazy. They do not seem over complicated and couldn’t cost anywhere near that to manufacture. The mark up must be int the 100’s
Good morning, can you use the winix zero+5 with your doors and windows open ?Cheers Erika
Hi Erika Its ok to have your windows and doors open whilst the air purifier is running as long as the outdoor air quality is good. We all need fresh air. Also, there are online sites that measure the outdoor air quality in our area (Air Quality Index). However, in saying that, for your air purifier to maintain clean healthy air within you home, it is best to keep your windows and doors closed whenever possible. This is even more important for allergy sufferers during storms, dry windy days, and hay fever season. If you are still unsure, please call Ausclimate direct on 1800 122 100. We are more than happy to answer any further questions you have. Regards Allan Ausclimate
Our area is about 100 sq m! Would we need two of these units?
Hi Ian For an area of 100sqm we would recommend 2 air purifiers as they would be operating much more effectively. If you are still unsure, please don't hesitate to call our office 1800 122100 Regards Allan Ausclimate
Thank you Allan. Will have to save a few more pennies then. :)
Can you point me to some information/specification on the Ionisation feature on this product.

Hi Shane and thank you Elan I was just about to send you the same link as Elan sent. This explains in full detail about this feature. If you have any further question please don't hesitate to call our office on 1800 122100 Regards Allan Ausclimate
What filter replacement is needed for a Rowenta Pu2120?
Hi John Sorry, we cannot help you, as the Rowenta brand is not one of ours. I would suggest contacting the store you purchased it from. Regards Ausclimate
what coverage does this appliance cater for, in sq meters?
Hi Robyn and Bont, this question should be directed to Ausclimate. However, according to their product info sheet the optimum room size up to 49.5 m². Refer to the following link for more info: external link
Hi Robin and Bront and thank you Natasha. Natasha is correct with the room size however if you would like to discuss in more detail please don't hesitate to call our office on 1800 122 100 Regards Allan Ausclimate
How long does it take before a standard bedroom takes to be purified
Hi Andrianna A good question however not so easy to answer. It can depend on a few a variables, such as, quality of filters. What airborne pollutants are you removing? Are the pollutants produced from within the room or outside? However, besides this, probably the best way to measure how quick it can filter the air, is how many times the air within the room passes through the air purifier or how many cubic metres of air changes per hour. Let’s say a standard bedroom is 12 sqm or 29 m3. The Zero+ Pro maximum air flow rate is 402 m3/hour therefore if used on turbo, the total air within the room will be filtered approx. 14 times per hour which is exceptionally high. Obviously on low fan speed it is much less but generally filtering the air 3 – 5 times per hour is considered very good. Hope this helps. If you would like further clarification, please call Ausclimate direct on 1800 122100 Regards Allan Ausclimate
I had the winix and rate it highly if you can get it for a decent price. Kogan or Amazon run specials but anything over $550 is just too expensive IMO. Choice rated it high except in carbon absorption. Hopefully Alan can talk to winix for a redesign
Why are you using cardboard corrugated activated carbon filters(99% efficiency) in the Zero+ Pro 5 and not pellet activated carbon filters(99.9% efficiency)?
You need to ask Ausclimste, I’m only a consumer. It works great and I’m happy with mine.
Hi Activated carbon can come in many forms, some being palletised carbon (coconut shell base used for the Zero 4 Stage), granulated carbon, powder carbon or corrugated which is used in the Zero+ Pro. All Winix Activated carbon filters are tested using a wide range of chemicals and whilst results can vary slightly such as 99.9% or 99% they are all very effective at removing harmful VOCs. One point of differance is the corrugated type is extremely lightweight unlike the heavier palletised type. Hope this helps Regards Allan Ausclimate
Yes good pick up. Choice rated the carbon absorption capability as pretty average. But it’s filtration is actually excellent
Hi, I have been researching online for various air purifiers for cigarette smoke coming in from the neighbors, which unfortunately can not be controlled. Its a nominal amount, but significant enough to smell and linger. Any insights would be appreciated.
Hello AJ, great question. Good news for you, as the activated carbon (one of the filters inside the air purifier) is designed to remove these smells, as well as any other unpleasant odours entering the room. Another good feature of this filter is its ability to remove other potentially toxic chemicals relating to this cigarette smoke, as well as other volatile organic compounds (VOCs) typically found in the home. Depending on room size, I'd probably recommend the Winix Zero 4 Stage air purifier or the Winix Zero+ 5 Stage air purifier. Both are great at removing cigarette smoke and are so cheap to run and are really suited to run 24/7, as we do in our home. Hope this is helpful. Regards Russell of Ausclimate
