Is this a good travel pram? Looking at buying one second hand for a holiday (on a plane).

Cleo
Cleo

It's not a pram you can take on board. It's heavy and way over the travel pram measurements and weights. You'd have to check it as underneath luggage. But as a pram to travel with, it's sturdy, large basket and folds in half with the seat facing either way and a dream to push.

Is there a bassinet that fits the city Versa from any of the other Baby Jogger prams? We have had the versa for years (love it!) but now have a new baby coming and wanting a bassinet for it. As it is now discontinued don't suppose you can still get the parts.

Cleo
Cleo

I'd try Gumtree or your local Facebook marketplace. I did not use a bassinet with my versa but it looks like the bassinet is universal and then you'd need adapters to suit the versa. There's some versa adapters on gumtree now that would be cheap to post but the bassinet maybe harder to find. Good luck. It's an amazing pram. I sold mine and regret it

Yes the compact bassinet definitely does, you would just need to find the adapters to fit the Versa. The deluxe bassinet , I am pretty sure can be used on the Versa too. .

Thank you so much, I will check that out. Cheers Sally

Hi Sally, thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately no other bassinets have been safety tested to be used on the City Versa pram, so the only bassinet we can recommend using on the City Versa stroller is the City Versa bassinet. Which has been sold out and discontinued.

I apologies for any inconvenience. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,

Does anyone know if the Versa seat fits into the City Select double pram base? or are they completely different connections?

I have a City Select and considering buying the Versa, but I want the seat to be interchangeable.

Happy Mummy

Hi, I'm not sure with the latest models but with mine, bought in 2013, it's not. The versa seat is bigger. Give Baby jogger a call, they're in Melbourne and very helpful.

Can anyone tell me if the handbrake should lock all 4 wheels or should the 2 front wheels still move?

Tina D
Tina D

Just locks the back wheels! :)

Vinodh Kumar Ravinder
Vinodh Kumar Ravinder

Back wheels only, but actually helps to adjust prams position with front two wheels after locking. eg if you have locked prior to boarding the car and it is not convenient to handle bub, you can easily lift backend of the pram and adjust the position without much of a struggle. i.e act like a trolley while repositioning.

Back only. As far as I'm aware all prams brake with back wheels only.

I am looking at putting a glider/skate board on the back of the versa, I currently have a city mini and find there is not enough room to walk behind the pram with the glidder board attached. Is the city versa any different? Is there enough room for the glider board so you can walk comfortably behind the stroller? thanks

Babytazza
Babytazza

It's definitely a tighter fit than I had on the city select but this is because the city select handle is extendable and the seat can be lowered allowing more room. I used to put dd within the handle perimeters not on the outside. I have noticed though that the versa handle is quite tall allowing some room (I'm not sure how this compares to the mini) but dd has to now stand on the outside of the handle and hold on where I hold on, so it is more difficult than with the city select. However I wouldn't use this for an entire day, only for 2-3 hrs at most and it's copable. If she really needs to not walk ( to sleep or for a long period) I'd put dd in the pram and my younger 1 yo in the carrier. I would suggest trying it out at a store first like baby bunting.

I am thinking of getting the versa mainly for my 15 month old (10kg) but at times needs to accommodate my tall 3.5 yr old (17.5kg). I know he fits within the weight limit but I was wondering if u think its suitable. My main concern is the removable seat and whether it feels a little shaky or unstable when more weight is in the seat? I tried a bertini once (removable seat) with even my daughter in it and felt the seat just wasnt stable. Im looking into a 4 wheeler for overall stability up escalators etc and came across this. I was almost ready to buy The phil & ted smart stroller as im really looking for compact size when pushing around as well as compact when folding but reviews r that its a bit flimsy. Any comments would be appreciated

Hi Nicky, I have a very tall 4 year old, around 17-18 kilos and I found that out of the range of similar prams, she fitted most comfertably in the versa. It's very stable and durable. I would suggest going to baby buntjng etc and trying out prams with similar features and placing your older child in them as well as the versa. I picked the versa and it felt so much more stable and durable than the rest and I know baby jogger is a good brand :)

I have a question about the weight of the stroller. The AUS Baby Jogger website lists the weight as 9.5kg, however the UK and US websites list the weight as 11.9kg. I contacted Baby Jogger Australia and they said '9.5kg is the information I have', not really helpful.

Is someone happy to weigh their stroller for me to confirm the weight? Thanks in advance.

dancer+mom
dancer+mom

From owning this stroller I personally can see it being closer to 11.9kg (26 pounds). I found it quiet heavy to lift with just one hand after using the one handed fold method it has. I would have to brace my back before pulling the folding strap, plus found it kinda awkward to lift into the boot that way. If you are happy to deal with this down side, then the other great features of this stroller are well worth it. The steering is fantastic and the basket/canopy huge!

Babytazza

The baby jogger website has been updated with the 11 ish kg weight. :)

Depends if you are ejecting the seat before lifting. I'm pretty sure 9.5 is chassis and wheels

Hi,

I went to a shop and loved the Versa!! Unfortunately its not recommended for a newborn.

Just wondering if its extremely necessary to buy a bassinet or capsule for it? Or can we use it with a head insert for our little baby due in August.

Thanks

dancer+mom
dancer+mom

I have used just the toddler seat from birth and haven't had a problem. I thought it a waste of money to buy a bassinet seat for only a few month. My daughter has been fine in the regular seat, although she always likes being on a slight incline. Now 6 weeks old, we have had no problems. It is probably a good idea to get a head insert (although we just curled a muslin wrap around her head for support), if you feel your bub needs a little more support.

Babytazza
Babytazza

The reason they do not recommend the versa seat for newborns is because if the angle of the seat is not suitable to a newborns hip development. When you recline the seat, the angle of the seat stays the same. The best position for a newborn etc to be is lying flat such as the bassinet. Even companies do not recommend babies being in the capsules for a long time. I personally have always bought a bassinet with my prams and I also use them as a travel bed.

Cil25
Cil25

I would definitely recommend bassinet or alternately if you could somehow make a triangle wedge with foam or? You could create a flat bed surface. I have kind of done this for my 4 month old .. Using material to build up the surface. I don't think this pram would work at all for under4 months and even though it has loads of qualities I like .. It has enough issues that I'm thinking about selling mine and going back to my original mini jogger.
