BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO Questions & Answers
I have a slide on camper 850kg dry how many psi should I have in my tyres? On rhe tyres it says up to 80psi at 1400kg Can you help
How many kilometers to change the tyre?
Depends on how well you maintain your tyres. Air pressure to suit terrain, rotation, balancing wheels etc. They will last for a long distance despite my off road driving. Need to look after side walls by driving at appropriate speeds to suit tyre pressures. Wheel placement is important so as not to hit sidewalls on sharp big rocks. No one can put X km on your tyres. From my friends I understand that these tyres are among the very best. I'm experiencing it but not yet quite finished.
Is the Ko tyre the same construction as ko2?
BF Goodrich claim the KO2 is a better tyre (new technology) the KO2 tyres I have are the worst tyre I have ever purchased, they are basically falling apart. BF Goodrich say this is normal wear & tear...NO WARRANTY.
I would suggest you buy another brand of tyre, don't get caught I did.
Im not to shaw i just know my ko2 fell apart as well i wont ever buy bfg again
I have been using BF Goodridge for 25 years and believe them to be amongst the best tyre on the market. Have crossed many paddock, desert roads, and outback roads, and have never had a problem and the only flats I've had have been from nails or screws etc in the suburban areas. I have had at least eight 4 x 4's during this time and have got up to 110,000klms on a set on my 100 series Landcruiser. Never have they fallen apart, but you must rotate every 10,000klm's to get even wear and have the right tyre pressures etc to get the best wear.
What tyre pressures for bf Goodrich all terrain? Front and back
250kpa loaded
220 unloaded
It all depends on the weight of your car. My car is very heavy and I tow a heavy van so I have been told to put 50 psi in the back and 46psi in the front.
Depends on many things-tire size, vehicle, driving conditions, trade off(mile vs. ride), traction required, just to mention a few examples. On my JL Rubicon, for highway 37-40 psi.Off road 18-21 psi. Extreme off road ie. rock crawling 15.5-16.6 psi.At about 20 psi., I will drive short distance at 55 mph. back to town. Below that, max speed only 25-30 mph. On my F250, 80-83 psi. all around, loaded with heavy trailer or empty. Two different vehicles, and different situations. Best bet, check door post for mfg. recommendation, this best for your safety,& all around use.
I have a triton 2011 D/cab GLRX what is the biggest all -Terrain tyre I can get on lift?
Hi Alan, I own a Prado, Toyota Prado. I have no idea what tyres would fit your vehicle. Now just out of interest, I am NOT a dealer of any kind, I am just a user of BFG's on a Toyota Prado. Sorry, I cannot help you.
You can legally only switch to something with a diameter of 2inches more than what the car came with. If you are happy to run the risk, it all depends on how much you have lifted it?
I have had my BFs on for around 110 000Kms and have been reasonably happy with them until they are a few yrs old and become a nightmare on wet roads. Are there other tyres better in the wet but good quality for AT as well??
Hi Carla, I would love to say I have an answer for you, however! My BFG's don't appear to diminish in grip as the tyres get older. It took 5 years for my BFG's to get down to their point of replacement.
Even in the wet(just a few days before I replaced them) I tried to get the back to slip out a little, just to see if they becoming dangerous(nothing crazy, just a little more speed into a corner or too and braked a little harder). I even tried to get the Prado to skid(straight line) in the wet, but got NO loss of traction(ABS didn't even come on) and it pulled up dead straight.
And certainly the rubber was still in good condition(not little tiny cracks from old age, or chunks coming off) it was just that the tyres had become a little rounded, possibly from under inflation and I was about to do some towing (caravan). I have used the same model of BFG's for the last 13 plus years, so no experience with any other variation (muddy etc.) or other brand.
Best of luck
Peter
Is alright to drop air pressure on all terrain tyres for corrigations?
It will depend on the terrain and what pressure and style of driving
Are these tyres good for the beach as well???
Hold back on the BFGoodrich All-Terrain until they start producing in the States again. Everybody with a recently purchased set I met in Australia is shocked how quick they wear. So to answer your question: they should be fine on the beach but will fall to pieces on the way if you are planning to use dirt roads.
Will it be OK to fit BFG 265's on my Navara 255 rims?
Stretch53, mate I would recomend you see a reputable tyre dealer and ask them, they are the experts, I would not give that advice, they have the real knowledge or expertise.
