I have a 2005 BMW X5 I’m wondering if the parts compatible with a 2000 to 2006
Does anyone know the cost to replace the fuel injectors on the vehicle listed below?
2003 BMW X5 4.4i Sport Utility 4D
I recently got my hands on a 2005 BMW X5 E53 Automatic All-Wheel drive (3.0L) and would love to take it off-road. So I'm putting it out there to those who have the same car and have tested it off-road. Is it okay to take off-road? and to what extent? (as I plan to beach drive with it - if it is safe to do so)
I am a car idiot. I have a X5 2006. What happens when I nudge the gear lever to the left and go into the manual mode? Is this a 4WD situation or what? Answer in simple terms please. Robert
The X5 is always in 4WD, all it does is drop the gear ratios to make it go faster. Great car. Look on the website for BSR tuning and you can increase the horsepower by 28%. We have an E53 X5 and a Drive 4.0d twin turbo. you can increase the HP to 212Kw.
Many thanks
Trans failsafe prog comes up on dash and is stuck in 2 nd gear but drive off slowly and get it warmed up for about a 10min drive and then I pull over turn it off and then turn it back on and trans failsafe prog is off and shifts through all the gears from 1st and up no worries and drives fine but then once cooled down it does it again...what could it be
When sitting at the lights for a short period the car will start miss firing have to pull over turn off the engine wait a minute and start again and will run fine till you have a stop again , what could be the cause
Does a light come on the dash?
I'd start by inspecting the battery connections it sounds simple but being lose or poor connections can cause grief, check all connections around the engine for something not right and are the spark plugs overdue to be replaced? if so change them it could be that simple and a set is only around $90 (Bosch) unless anyone else has better ideas you'll need a computer diagnosis after that
How much did it cost to buy x5 bmw in 2002 3litre automatic?

Do not keep doing it as I'm thinking ur gearbox should be checked out drain the oil and see if the oil has metal pieces or it's like silver colour if it is you need to rebuild your gearbox As clutches and drums might be cracked or broken

Can I tow double horse float with 2005 BMW diesel? .thank you bob
The E53 X5 towing capacity should be at least 2500kg, although I have seen figures of 3500kg as a max around the place
I am looking at purcashing a 2004/05 model. Can you advise me on $ servicing and an average part replacement costs
Hi. I've only had one major service in a year or so and all the power steering hoses needed replacing, as did the CV joint boots. It wasn't cheap at around $2000, but both those parts won't hopefully be an annual ordeal which dramatically added to the cost.
My mechanic quotes around $800 for a major annual service. Still more than a Japanese car, but then again, the X5 is SO much more enjoyable than the average car to drive.
You'll be in for more cost if anything goes wrong, that's a certain and there are so many electronics in the car that it's possible quite a bit can go wrong. Factor that in for sure, but if you get a good one and you're prepared for a bit of extra cost at times, don't let that put you off. We love ours and it will be impossible to go back to an 'ordinary' car. It is truly amazing. We do mostly city driving, but we've also done some long trips and arrived feeling so much more alive than in any other car.
Hope that's of help.
Hi. Servicing is at 25000km intervals. If it's just oil and the occasional air filter, it's not too bad. My last service was $980. But if they have to replace parts it gets very pricey. For example, when my rear brakes were replaced they do both pads and rotors, and it cost nearly $1000. Likewise, tyres only manage about 40000km and you won't get any change out of $2000 for four of them, depending on brand. I use a non dealer BMW specialist, who it's about 10% cheaper and is better.
Cheers,
Stuart
