Hi Dan, Thank you for your question and sorry to hear this has happened with your coffee machine. No steam is not a good sign and may need a visit to a service centre. It is best you private message us with your details and age of the coffee machine and we will do the best we can to help you.
Thank you

Hi. What is the size of the portafilter? I have lost the pin holding the cup. Can i just buy the pin or do O have to buy a new portafilter?
Hi Ruzilla, please use the below link to browse our spare parts. Thanks, De'Longhi external link
I posted a few months back re the EC13413, the machine can work properly for a few days then decides to begin to pump then all of a sudden it goes quiet and can't push the water through, this is quite frustrating and can be dangerous when the handle needs to be taken off. I clean the machine after each use and use the descaler as well. could you please contact me to resolve this problem.
I have purchased the ec1341 3 months ago, it had taken a while to work out the best coffee grinds and how fine they should be as the pump doesn't seem strong enough to pump the water through, I check the filters and the clean the hole with a pin to ensure there is no blockages, recently the machine will make the noise as if it will begin to pump then goes quiet and nothing happens, when I try to turn the handle to take the filter handle off it has built up with pressure, I am concerned it is going to blow off, I have run a descaler through twice now but still having this problem. IS MINE A DUDD ??? I am very disappointed as I thought buying this brand there would not be any issues, I have wasted so much coffee trying to work out what is best and also when it doesn't work I have to empty the filter to start again.
Leanne :(
when you first use it the seals are brand new so the coffee holder will be a tighter fit but it also compresses the coffee more so when you flatten the coffee in the holder dont press it.when i ground the coffee i worked out about 30 secs on a very cheap coffee grinder from kmart.i have had my machine for about 1 year and all of sudden i can grind the coffee for about 40 seconds and press the coffee pretty good and the water flows nicely
The water flow into the coffee is not strong at all, at times it just drips drips the coffee out takes ages. When I turn the water flow without the coffee holder the water runs fine. Is there something I need to do to ensure it flows better?
Hi Annie, It sounds like your filters may be blocked. Unfortunately this can be common with the pump machines. Please pull apart your 1 and 2 cup filters so the filter cup and the base with all the holes are separate. Once you pull the base of the filters apart (lots of little holes with the black rubber ring around it) please sprinkle the filter base with Bi-Card soda and cover it with boiling water and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with fresh water and put back together and you should have no further issue.
Thanks, De'Longhi
We have this machine for 4 years now. Yes, it is very sensitive, in terms of the grounding size and the amount of coffee that is put into the filter. Machine will not work properly if the following occurs:- - Coffee ground too fine, or too coarse, it needs to be "just right". - Coffee ground too densely packed into the filter, it needs to be "just right". This is our advice:- -Buy a packet of pre-grounded coffee. The pre-grounded coffee seem to work with this machine. If grinding your own beans, just grind it to the same size. -Put pre-ground coffee in filter. THIS IS IMPORTANT: Do not press ground coffee down, just level it a bit. When you screw the filter onto the coffee machine, it should be not loose, and not too tight- Easy to screw on, BUT with tiny bit of tension. With trial and error, this machine is capable of making decent coffee.
I’ve tried your suggestion delonghi it still doesn’t flow out properly. It literally drips one drop at a time. Can you please advise what to do next? I’ve only had this machine for a month Thanks
Hi Annie,
Sorry to hear that it still doesn't flow out properly, we have private messaged you to grab your contact details and get to the bottom of this.
Thanks, De'Longhi
Hi there. Im experiencing the same issues as an earlier post. Up until last week the machine was working well..and since taking off the group head and descaling the machine, the portafilter doesn't work at all. It pours with the group head on..but when inserting the portafilter it doesn't process and instead builds up water and bursts when I release it. Are there any tricks or tips for this? Cheers
Hi Court, It sound like your portafilter may have a blockage, I would clean the filter and make sure you can see through the hole where the coffee is to come through as this could be blocked which would then build up pressure, you may need to use a pin to unblock.
Hi there, just done that and the portafilter is still blocked, clean it with the dealer in hot water for few hours and then used the pin to unblock but everything I have done it's unsuccessful
Hi Angela,

Hi,
what size is the portafilter basket? 51mm or 53mm I want to get a new tamper.
Thank you
Hi Sai, The portafilter basket is 50mm :)
What type of heating element does this machine have?
Hi Nas, this machine has a stainless steel boiler and two separate thermostats to control the steam and the coffee. This way it will hold each temperature well when you switch between coffee and steam :)
What esepods does machine use?
Hi Louiese we sell a couple of different blends as an ese pod here is the link for you. external link
Where can you buy the correct pods?
Hey Louiese, we sell these online here, external link Or some of our retailers like Harvey Norman do stock these as well.
I have purchased a delonghi EC1341 , and the Steam dial doesn’t twist in any direction? Is there a quick fix or will I have to return the product for refund? I can hear inside when I turn the selector dial and the ok light goes on but nothing happens?
I have the same problem :’(
Did you return it to Aldi?
Delonghi may have sold their clearance end of line stock to Aldi?
I would suggest that you contact our customer service team on 1800 126 659 they will be able to help you out with this. Thank you so much
Thank you Cheryl for advising me to call someone else? I have returned the product yesterday, so it was a loose loose. I will not be buying another Delonghi.
I bought mine from Aldi as well - June 2020. I did notice when I first unpacked it that the Steamer dial on top was very tight and did not move from left to right as indicated in manual. In fact, it appeared 'locked'. It's meant to move smoothly as according to online videos I've watched. I was a little concerned at the time but thought that perhaps it would be fine once the Coffee Filter Holder was in place and operational. Disappointingly, and frustratingly, it appears that I picked up the dud machine from the batch delivered to Aldi because it DID NOT unlock when I first used the machine. It could not steam the milk because nothing happened. If anything, I could smell a faint burning smell. Annoyingly, I now have to call DeLonghi by the looks of it and hopefully get my money back from Aldi. I was so excited and looking forward to using my new purchase, especially during this quarantine period. Very disappointed.
Was it a good machine
I bought it 3 years ago. I use it every day, at least once a day. Just 2 month ago a plastic piece broke, but I'm still using it. It make good coffee and nice froth. Really good value for money.
For the price we paid, it make pretty nice coffee. This machine is compact and looks great. We bought it 3.5 years ago and it is still going strong.
hi is this a pod coffee machine or a standard group head , if yes to pods what type does it take, can I use reusable ones?
HI Kyles. This is a manual machine that you can use pre ground coffee or can also use the paper style ESE pods that look like a coffee tea bag not the capsule kind like nespresso.
thanks
Must I use very coarse coffee ground?
Not sure what you mean by "very coarse". What we found this machine doesn't like very fine grounding. We usually grind our own bean-not too fine, and not too coarse. Sometime we use the Vittoria pre-grounded coffee and it seem to work well with this machine.
Is it a pod machine
What would be the size of the suitable tamper for this machine?
Can someone advise the maximum height cup that fits? I wanna get this machine but have noticed the comment about the cup. Thanks.
12cm
Thanks. After i posted this i found on the website.
A great coffee machine just lately when frothing milk with just the plastic nozzle it blows off the wand has any one else had this problem?
We haven't had any problems with the frother for frothing milk or coming off. Only thing it does drip a bit after use.
Thanks for your reply. Has anyone had to replace the plastic nozzle because nozzle has lost firmness
I cannot find any info on compatible coffee pods for this machine online or in the manual and am wondering if someone can let me know what to purchase?... Thanks in advance.
