Which pods can be used with this machine? Can I buy universal pods?

Problem with Lattissima + milk frother working intermittently. Will draw up milk for first coffee but then won’t pick up milk and emits steam through and in to the cup if used a second time? Milk unit has been cleaned, machine descaled and even tried a second milk frother unit as I have the same machine in my office. I have 2 machines now with the same issues as I purchased another when the first one failed. Frustrated and have looked at all the ideas to rectify on line but to no avail.

I have a similar problem, it's been descaled multiple times, has a new milk unit and still it won't work. The milk froth unit starts and stops, spits milk, steam and water. Sometimes will stop almost immediately after it's been pressed. The machine also makes significantly more noises from inside the unit, gurgling noises.

It appears the machine just can't hold the pressure or temperature long enough to make a single beverage any more. I need to press the milk button up to 5 times simply to get one coffee, the quality of the froth is also poor and not nearly as good as it used to be when the machine worked as intended.

I am sending the unit to a different repair agent here in Sydney, I now believe the machine has an internal water leak with heated water used by the steamer escaping into the drip tray. The lack of sufficient water coming through to the milk frothing unit seems like the issue.

Hi I have the EN520S and I want to know how to use the milk descender to froth the chilled milk instead of heating it?

Eric Noack
Eric Noack

the milk descender ? sorry it has a milk container which fits into the machine and a spout on the side that ejects the froth into your glass. Why would you heat it ? The instructions tell you to use chilled non fat skim milk .

Laura

@thubleau2 I don't think she meant she heated the milk before pouring it into the milk container. That's not the way I took her question anyway.

Why do pods get the foil torn and the cup and pod tray fill with water and grounds? I have scrubbed the grill to remove any contaminate, run the lungo setting 15 times as suggested by the nespresso help line.

kylie

Hello I'm not really sure why it fills with water as mine does to but I tend to use the plastic pods wich I have found better than the foil ones But you really need to empty the pod draw out and clean it very often.

Kev

pod draw cleaned. I removed the covers around the brewing unit( the bit where you place the new pods) and discovered that it was broken. Don't know if this is a common problem or whether mine was the lemon. Part ordered and replaced. Now working again for less than $50.

As the milk was not frothing right I wanted to descale my Lattissima but the descaling will not start? It didn't prompt me to descale I just decided to do it myself as it didn't seem to work properly and the water container was looking like that's exactly what the machine needs... is it possible to descale when not prompted? I've descaled before when the cappuccino button turned orange and it was fine but now i'm trying to do this without the prompt there's no way to start the process?

kylie
kylie

Absolutely you can Whenever you think it needs it or whenever the orange light comes on

Joanna
Joanna

Thank you. Any idea how to start it though as nothing i press starts the process? It worked fine when the light was orange but now it just won't start descaling whether i press the Cappuccino button or any other one... It just works as if making coffee... :(

Plug in the descaling nozzle. The light should turn on. If it doesn't turn on. Remove the descaling nozzle and in plug it in again. Try a few times if it doesn't light. Otherwise, contact Delongi support. They are better than Apple.

What milk I can use for Latissima? Coconut, almond, spy for example?

Amz
Amz

I've tried, but it won't froth. So I am stuck only using non-fat milk and soy milk.

I use coconut, almond, soy and milk all froth great, no issues whatsoever.

I also use coconut and almond milks, it doesn't matter what brand I use- they all froth really well. I have it set on the setting furthest to the left (latte)

Just made a coffee, now the Cuppuccino light is a solid red colour (botton right button). what does this mean? Nothing in the manual or online.

Paul Tapper

OK seems it needs a descale. I got confused with one of the other buttons not being lit up as shown in the manual.

My delonghi lattissima is no longer drawing up milk through the milk tube from the milk container, any ideas?

Blackroze
Blackroze

It sounds like dried up mill is causing a blockage. Dismantle the parts and soak in warm soapy water for a few hours then rinse thoroughly. It could also be that the parts for the milk container have not been properly reassembled- check all parts are correctly fitted.

If these tips don't help, give the Nespresso customer service a call, they may have some ideas or can do some trouble shooting. Good luck : )

Hi, thanks for your response..i have purchased a whole new black milk container top unit..its still happening :(..i have read about a bubble issue in the tubing inside the machine..does anyome know how to fix it?

Reanold
Reanold

We had the same problem. What fixed ours was descaling it. It took two times to make the descaling light to turn off. After that it worked fine. The first cup of coffee did have descaler in it, so it might be a good idea to run it with a used capsule once or twice.

The cappuccino button on my De Longhi lattissimo plus machine is lighting up but does not respond when pressed, does anyone have a solution to this problem? I have descaled the machine as the button worked when I descaled the machine, i have also reset to factory settings but no response from the cappuccino button even though it is lit up.

I have similar problem, water just refuses to come out. Were you able to resolve your problem?

Dana Mato
Dana Mato

Had the same problem with my machine, so I scoured the internet and found the manual. There is a part where it says first time use or first time after a long time, or something like that. All it says is to take out the coffee pods and keep pressing the large coffee button (the one without froth) a bunch of times and water will come out afterwards. Hope this helps cause it worked for mine

You can try to dismantle all pieces and soak in warm, soapy water for an hour or so. If not, contact Nespresso for trouble shooting tips and/or repair
