Dyson 26 inch Adventure Folding Electric Bike Questions & Answers
VerifiedHaving trouble with my Dyson 26" in that the pedal assist works in the lwer gears but nothing in the higher gears, any ideas?
Hi Geof, possibly a problem with the pedal sensor. Feel free to contact us at and we can help sort it out. 03 9532 3132 Thanks Dave Dyson Bikes
Is there any reason to not purchase a low kilometre 2019 Dyson Folding bike bike that has rear suspension
I would like to know how to replace the battery of this bike (given it is built-in)?
It's not built in. The battery is just inside the frame. There is a key that you will receive with the bike to unlock the battery. You will be able to slide the battery out when you fold the bike.
Does anyone know the frame size of this bike as I am 189cm and need a tall one?
Hi Michael, I own one of the Dyson folding mountain bikes. Cant recall frame size off hand but I am 188 cm and size suits me well.
Good morning team Dyson. Just wondering if the handlebars fold on any of your models? Will the 24" wheel model come back in stock eventually? Thanks Tony
Hi Tony, The 20-inch bike does have folding handlebars. On the 24" and 26" you can remove the front wheel easily, then the bars will fold flat. The 24-inch bike is in production now and we will hopefully have them here in about a month. (mid to late September 2021). Any other questions feel free to get in touch. Thanks, Dave
How long this ebike been on the market? Is there a newer version? or anything coming soon?
Hi Kym, We started selling these over 7-years ago. the current version is quite different to the one shown here. Simpler and lighter. You can find more info at dysonbikes.com.au. No big changes anytime soon. Thanks Dave
thank you Dave
When will Dyson 26inch folding bike be in stock. Need cost inc shipping
Hi Ray, the demand is very strong at the moment. We have some more bikes coming in Feb 2021, but these are presold to our Dealers. Where are you located? I can let you know which Dealer is closest to you that may have one available. Thanks Dave Dyson Bikes.
This sounds like a great ebike, can you get one with a lower top bar for a lady?
I’ve never seen or heard of one.
We have a 24-inch wheel version which is a little bit lower. Then we do a 20-inch as well, albeit a slightly different frame design.
Dyson bikes are not affiliated with Dyson Vacuum cleaners are they? Also, can anyone tell me, does the battery regenerate whilst peddling?
Kinda of same logo. No e bikes charge battery whilst pedalling.
Hi George, thanks for your interest in Dyson Bikes. We are not affiliated with the Vacuum company. We are an Australian Company, one of the founders surname is Dyson. The battery does not regenerate while pedalling, if it did you would require you to pedal more than it would on a normal bicycle. If you have any other questions feel free to give us a call 03 9532 3132. Thanks Dave Dyson Bikes
Hi Rollo. I'm just looking at getting one of these. Has it needed much in the way of service? Any particular extras you would recommend? Oh, and BTW, it is not the same Dyson as the vacuum mob -- but from your review sounds like they are just as reliable! Excited to transition to ebike. :)
How is the experience of people with this Dyson bike after a few years, in particular with respect to the derailleur ? Does it cause trouble and if you fold the bike regularly, I would think it needs frequent readjustments ?
I've had my Dyson 24" folder for nearly a year. No problems with the derailleur or anything and I fold mine every day to save space in my tiny flat. Is just an amazing bike. For slightly more money than an E-bay 20" city commute cheapy you get a proper bare bones electric mountain bike that folds. Its also light weight for an E-bike at least my 24" is. For me it only lacks back suspension for rough roads but I just use a pool noodle type insert ( only one worthwhile type, no brand mention needed) in back tire or you could just get a suspension seat stem.
Thanks for your review. Looking at this bike and I was wondering how do you find riding up the suburban hills on this bike? (e.g perhaps Paddington, Indooroopilly etc). As I am contemplating either getting this bike with 200W or a 250W bike. I will be using it for commuting. Cheers
Hi. I have a Dyson Bondi bike and I live in Brisbane. I've tested it on the hills in Paddington quite a bit. Going up Fernberg Rd and steeper is no problem. It makes riding a bike up hills an absolute breeze! I had a sore knee for a while and couldn't pedal much at all. So glad I had my Dyson. Just make sure you have the pedal assist on a high setting early if you know you're going up a steep hill. I've tried changing it halfway up the hill and that isn't so great. But you wouldn't change gears too late either on a mountain bike or a car because you would lose your revs. So it's the same concept really.
Do you still like your bike after 2 years?
Great question. Still have the bike. Still love it. The battery has been amazingly good. Bike still trundling along very well. Good construction.
