Electrolux Built In Barbecue EQBH156AS (6 Burners, High Hood) Questions & Answers
VerifiedThe starters have stopped working - all at the same time. How do I access the batteries?, or whatever mechanism there is that fires the electric starters please.
I have had my electrolux branded version of this bbq for 5 years. The beefeater rebranding must have occured soon after. I also had a failed starter within months because of rain. The starter was replaced promptly - as I can read here now it was a known problem. I bought the vinyl cover that goes with the bbq which has mostly fixed the problem. After 5 years of regular use its a bit temperamental though. I have to unscrew it when not in use so it doesn't continually spark. So I need to replace the starter. The vinyl on the cover is now deteriorated from being in the weather to the extent that I need a new cover. Unfortunately the "new" cover doesn't extend to protect the nobs and starter. Can I get the "old" version that does? If I can't, then do you sell a cover just for the starter and nobs? Is there some-one who can come out and clean/service this bbq, replace the starter and bring an adequate cover? It is otherwise a pretty good barbeque.

I have just finished cleaning my BBQ. Now the gas will not come through and light. The spark is there but no gas. Is there a way the gas can be turned off within the BBQ itself?

Sorry I have no understanding of how to correct your problem as my BBQ was made to be installed into the unit and it was assembled by Electrolux.
Just received 6 burner with lid - it has very basic temperature gauge however that does not indicate actual temperature temperature - just indicate when it is "ready". Why is this?
There does not seem to be proper temperature gauge on my one either be careful if you are using the pre heat setting. My BBQ had flames flying out of it when I used the preheat setting as per the instructions. There is only low and high temperature and you have to play around with it to get it to the temperature you want. I used it only on low because everything else was just too dangerous. Light it long before you need to use it and only use the low setting. Also don't leave the lid closed when heating or cooking even though it says to. My lid has areas which have eroded from being burnt and the darned thing is not even a year and a half old.
The model you have listed is EQBH156AS, I believe you are referring to previous model EQBH100AS with 4 burners. I think you'll find the new 6 burner model has a larger temperature gauge with the actual temperature shown.
