It could be used as an oven but I have not. Steaming is another thing again. That just requires boiling water under the vegies container.

I have found a way to steam them. I put a wire tray on the BBQ, put an aluminium tray on it put my vegetables in with a little water and I cover with aluminium foil. Close the lid and about 35-40 Min later they turned out good. I have to remember that it is like an oven and allow the time to cook

Hi Sabrina, You can keep the lid down but the BBQ can only be on low. DO NOT TURN IT UP TO HIGH! You will ruin the BBQ. You can get the temperature up fairly quickly this way if you want to seer your steaks. You could always start it up on high, seer the steak and then turn it to low.

It doesn't surprise me with the lack of information with this brand.
