Does Feast Watson Outdoor Furniture oil have an expiry date and if first coat is clear can the second coat be a colour. Purchased clear but noticed colour has better UV protection.
Hello Unsure Thank you for reaching out to us via Product Review with your Outdoor Furniture Oil questions. The product itself doesn't have an expiry date, and if your can has been kept sealed in a cool dry area you should not have any issues. If you do have concerns about your can we recommend testing the product on an offcut or hidden area to confirm adhesion. The coloured Outdoor Furniture Oil does have much better UV resistance than the clear, and if you have already applied one coat of clear, you can absolutely use a coloured coat on top. If you have any more questions, please feel free to give us a call on 1800 252 502. Our operating hours are Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 7:00 pm, and Saturday 8:30 am to 3:00 pm AEST..

Can clear outdoor furniture oil be used to seal a solid Australian oak wood door for the entry to a house?
Hello Frank, Thank you for reaching out via Product Review with your enquiry. We would not recommend using our Outdoor Furniture Oil on a door as it does not have the UV resistance required for this. If you are after a clear oil for your door, we recommend looking at our Feast Watson Water Repellant Timber and Decking Oil. This product will naturally weather but will do so evenly.

How long does Feast Watson smell for after painting the furniture?
Hello there Carol K, Thank you for reaching out via Feast Watson Product Review. The Feast Watson Outdoor Furniture Oil will generally have a solvent oil aroma for 3-5 days, but it does depend on the type of timber surface porosity and how heavy the coats were applied. So, if you for example apply the minimum of two coats in a fairly heavy application, then it will tend to take a little longer at 5-7 days. This is due to the standard oil based compounds used to manufacture the protective coating, requiring longer curing times to flash out of all the compounds used, even after the coating is touch dry.

My outdoor table (an old desktop) was sanded and finished several years ago in outdoor furniture oil. Over the years it has been cleaned with orange oil. Can I now put more outdoor furniture straight on top?
Hello Kerry K, Thank you for reaching out via Product Review with your inquiry regarding Feast Watson Outdoor Furniture Oil. It is a little tricky to assess this situation over this platform, it depends how old the orange oil is, but typically it would not be what we would recommend without a lot of preparation.
Please feel free to give us a call on 1800 252 502 to speak to one of our Feast Watson technical consultants so we can further assist you with this project and take you through your options.
Our operating hours are Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 7:00 pm, and Saturday 8:30 am to 3:00 pm AEST.

Hi, I have put a coat of clear outdoor furniture oil on, just wondering if I can use a weathered grey for the second coat or if I have to stick with the clear
Hello there Sam, Thank you for reaching out via Feast Watson Product Review. You can apply the Weathered Grey option in the Feast Watson Outdoor Furniture Oil,over your thoroughly dried clear coat finish. Please be sure to allow 24hrs for clear coat to dry thoroughly, then wipe down the coated surface with some mineral turpentine on a lint free cloth or sponge.
Once clean and dry, it’s best to first apply a small test coat to a hidden clear coated section, with the Weathered Grey. Just to make sure you’re happy with the dry test-coated result before committing to the expanse.

Hi I have always used the clear Feast and Watson outdoor furniture oil for my outdoor teak timber table and chairs. Always dries to a hard surface, I have cleaned and reapplied 2 coats of the oil and it has been 3 days now and it is tacky and will not dry?
Can F&W outdoor furniture oil be used to rehydrate outdoor seagrass chairs?
Can furniture oil be used for ply wood deck on model sailing yacht.
Hello there Lance, Thank you for your important project question via Product Review. If your timber model sailing yacht is a trophy piece that won’t see active regular water submersion - Then yes, you can apply the Feast Watson Outdoor Furniture Oil by two-three coats. If on the other hand the model yacht is submerged on regular basis, then I’m afraid it won’t be the ideal coating, as it’s not a waterproofing product. Certainly water resistant but not waterproof as such I’m afraid.
If the model yacht deck is only going to experience mild exposure to water and the weather elements, then you can consider the more specifically formulated Feast Watson Spar Marine Varnish by two coats over a well prepared bare plywood, which is a very durable high gloss, flexible marine grade clear coating. Please be sure to apply a small test coat of any protective coating, before committing to the expanse.

I have just oiled our outdoor teak furniture (undercover) Does the timber go darker with the second coat?
Hello there Trish, Thank you for reaching out via Product Review regarding the durable Feast Watson Outdoor Furniture Oil. You will get a level of colour depth increase with any semi transparent coloured or clear protective oil but it is subject to a few variables like specific porosity of your timber, surface preparation (along with it being perhaps previously coated), the colour chosen ( if any ) and how heavy the coating application might be. So as with any fresh oil, stain or painted finish project, we highly recommend testing the products colour options or clear, first via a small sample pot test by two – three coats, over a hidden clean, dry section of an area/item,just to make sure you’re happy with the dry colour result, before committing to the expanse.

My wife bought an old teak drum table with at least five coats of crappy old paint. I spent ages removing all the paint with Citristrip and a Gerni then sanded and filled it so it was looking a million dollars. I then gave it three coats of jarrah outdoor furniture oil. Now my wife hates it because she says it’s orange. I love the look but not sleeping on the couch. How can I darken it and make it brown not orange.
Hello, I have a very old can of RED Feast Watson furniture oil, no longer see the Red on your stock list. Has this been discontinued.
I can't find red any more so I bought jarrah. It has a red finish as well. Haven't used it yet but will in the next few weeks.
Is it possible to mix Feast Watson clear furniture oil with Jarrah tinted Feast Watson Furniture oil?
can feast watson outdoor oil be used inside
Can you get FW Garden Furniture Oil Teak In 4lt Quantity?
I have new 10 Mimosa out door chairs , they live under a pergola with no direct sunlight .I purchased some Feast Watson exterior timber oil , I have had the chairs for about three weeks and am about to apply the oil for the first time , what is the best way to apply and how many coats for the first time?
How did it go what colour did you choose. I just bought a mimosa lounge suite, also covered. Not sure if i should use clear or jarah or teak. I don't want the furniture to go grey.
Hi there MS, When using our Outdoor Furniture Oil, we would recommend using clear if you wish to keep the colour as close to the natural timber as possible. If you wish to subtly change the colour, Teak will give a warmer brown and Jarrah will give a deeper red. If the lounge is well prepared and oiled as per label instructions, and maintained regularly you should not have any issues with greying.

I purchased a brand new mimosa outdoor setting from Bunnings. I’m needing a suggestion on the oil colour. Do I put clear on it or a different colour?
I have an outdoor setting which I repaint with redwood furniture oil every 5 or so years, just cleaning then painting straight over the top. I can't find redwood furniture oil anywhere, is it okay to use jarrah oil?
I have a Jarrah outdoor table that I have sanded back to the original timber. My concern is the first coat of Feast Watson Outdoor furniture oil has turned almost black on drying. Will this change after recoating and light sanding? I did try the Jarrah tinted version that finished quite yellow in colour. Any advice would be appreciated as this is such a lovely piece of furniture. Chris M
