Dash lights flash like indicators. Then other things like interior light works in reverse moe
When I put my headlights on while the car is off the instrument lights flicker like the indicates and then my indicates don't work unless I have my headlights on
my Holden vectra 1999 JS has been having a few problems over the last year but is still running fine. The most recent problem was the wipers relay blowing and when putting in the replacement- I stupidly had the car running- which let out a nice spark. I turned the car off and on and all was good-no wipers still as I kept the relay out after the spark-until a minute later I went to use the brakes again and there was none. Very scary moment, made it home to discover the brake check valve had broken off- on the bottom connection. It’s probably just a coincidence that the 2 happened together as my brake pads and disks were overdue for replacement. But ever since I reconnected the battery after replacing the check valve, I can no longer alter the date and time on my multi functions screen. Instead of allowing me to change any numbers, it’s popping up with the numbers 601 1 14972
Any ideas what this means? I can’t find anything on google. Thanks in advance hope someone can help :) :)

i have lost the transponder chip in remote. so i have removed card reader from ignition barrel also. however engine light is flashing on and off and i cannot figure out how to find fault code.
I have a Vectra ZC 2005 and I hope this works for your car. Key out, foot on the brake and accelerator pedals then insert the key and turn to the ignition on position. the check engine light will flash out any codes. eg. 10 flashes = 0 5 flashes = 5 etc. after 4 numbers then about 5 to 10 secs of pause any new code numbers will start and continue. I found it easier to video the flashes on the phone then count the flashes.
I have overheating problems with my vectra. Is anyone else had similar problems
Common on this model, pay to run a cylinder head combustion leak test, are you using any coolant?, if so head gasket or head leaking.

Coolant drain? should be on right hand end of radiator, black plastic tap, be careful, can be brittle with age.
2000 is vecta cut in and out at 4500 rpm . you can change up a gear with plenty of power until you hit 4500 rpm starts cut in and out. Any ideas?
The fault here is simple - you have a DTC set on the ECU. Have you checked your check engine light? Do you have a check-engine light on? The magic number - 4500. It's a set safe-mode setting in the ECU.
If you haven't pulled DTCs on it, go to Supercheap Auto, and have the DTCs pulled using their scan-tool. Their tool *MUST* support the KWP-2000 standard - some stores have really cheap readers that don't support this... Then reset them and go again. The things that can put an ECU into the limp mode are Airflow meter, crank angle sensor, anti-knock sensor, and the transmission fault-input line (for automatics).
The right side indicators randomly stop flashing when indicating right. Indicating left is all okay.
Any idea on what’s wrong?
The indicator system is operated by the timing unit and three relays. Try swapping the two yellow relays in the electrical module and seeing if the problem follows. I did this, and it did. Grabbed a spare relay and replaced it. All works well now.
hi have 2001 vectra 2.2 ,have put new fuel pump and filter, will be driving and just cuts out, sometimes will restart other times have to wait, any help?
Check with a scan tool first. Check for fuel pressure and flow - have you changed the fuel filter? It should be changed every 50 or 60 thousand K's - but Many I see haven't been changed since the car was built in Germany/England/Australia. That's a LONG time ago now...
The simplest things can cause the engine to stop - bad relays, bad ignition switches, no crank angle signal, poor MAF, dead ignition pack (that's a likely target) and a host of other things. Scan tools are your friend........

You won't get a check engine light... And it's running like shoit when idle? if it's sitting at idle and it isn't moving, try the well known fault with the C22SE engine - the Idle Air Control Valve. These little buggers clock-up with carbon and stop working. It's a component that straddles the intake air plate at the top of the intake plenum. Two number 5 Allen Key bolts and a paper gasket - disconnect the wiring harness, and clean with about 1.2 billion litres of brake cleaner. Dry it out by shaking out the cleaning solution, and allowing it to sit for about 10 minutes. If you shake is sideways, and you hear a 'tinking' noise, it's now free to operate and will (if not buggered) control the idle air.
The car will run and idle properly then :)

JS2 and it won't come out of park? You need volts, and you need a foot on the brake. No volts = never out of park. Try starting on the path of a battery fault, until you can discount it.
Need some help in fixing my car was driving along after putting fuel in and all of sudden the just cut out and now won't start could it be a dirty fuel pump?
Or a filter. Bet you anything you've never had the fuel filter changed...... If the pump has gone, it's a cheap fix. If the filter is clogged, it's a PITA.

If you want the ones that run around the power steering cooler, You can make them yourself. If you want the high pressure lines, you’ll be looking at a wrecker because GM don’t stock them. That or try purple pig..
I have a 2001 Vectra its not over heating but I have oil going in to radiator car runs perfect other wise is there an oil cooler or line that go to the radiator on this model?
The oil can mix from two sources. The first is from a failed head gasket. The head can fail on the outer sides where the oil and water passages run. The second failure mode involves a split in the transmission cooler built into the radiator. If that has an internal failure, coolant ends up in the trans and oil in the coolant. After a few weeks of that, the cars transmission will fail catastrophically.
Double down on the checks. Pull the trans dip and check for signs of coolant. If clear it’s the head gasket
It sounds like you got a bad problemthere, so I would get it checked out straight away as it can cost you dearly.
