Bought a honda hrn216pku model from Bunning's. Pretty disappointed in it.Its easy to start gives a nice cut but in longer wet grass it not very good. When you put it on bag setting the grass blocks up almost straight away. The discharge rear chute is very narrow and l think a design error? Is there a way of fixing this problem.? Ideally if cutting shorter grass it would be fine but as someone who has customers that leave their grass to high it's a big problem.

Hi Rod Your mower the reason it clogs up it could be a couple of things all Honda Mowers are reliable Rod I have a Honda HRU216 Buffalo Pro Self Propelled Shaft Driven Fully Commercial Mower it has like over 200 hours on the machine I never had any problems with it here's why your Honda Mower can clog up with wet grass 1st Don't Cut wet thick grass this can put strain on your engine lawn mowers are not designed to cut thick wet grass this can clog up your mower and overload your small engine this can ruin your small engine by overloading 2nd Make sure your wheels and cutting heights on the 4 wheels are even and not uneven reason being is that if your 4 wheels are not even your Mower won't cut properly if your wheels are not adjusted evenly Hope this Helps Juan Garcia

Thanks Juan I agree that it's not good to cut wet grass. But sometimes you have no choice if it's been raining or in winter. And yes the grass sticks to the deck . No doubt that honda are excellent mowers as l have a 4 stroke honda whipper snipper the best whipper l have ever had.My old masport Briggs and Stratton cut through wet grass no problem. It had a big opening at the back and never clogged up.This new honda has a very narrow passage and get clogged very easily. When you slide lever to mulch setting it closes that passage. I was thinking of some how removing that to open up and make a larger shoot for the grass to come out but l dont now how this will affect the performance or if it's a good idea but appreciate your thoughts. Why is the lowest mowing setting so high? The no. 1 setting is the equivalent to no. 4 on my old mower. My lawn looks like it still needs to be mowed? Is there anything I can do?

I had one of these mowers had to have it up so high to push the dam thing and then would not cut. Blue couch always looked like it needed to be mowed straight after, purchased a swing blade set up on a buffalo heaps better seems the rotor blade set up not suited to my grass.
