Will any 200mm wheels for Honda self propelled 21" mower fit this model? I need to replace the rear wheels and can see lots of wheels available for HRU models but not for this old mower.

Hi, sorry I would not know. Probably best if you contact a Honda Service Centre.

I bought a Honda mower three years ago and my gardener has been using it once a week to cut about 10,000 square feet of Bermuda grass. I looked at it recently and it looks REALLY old and beat up. It is this model number HRR216k11VKAA. Is this a 3 year old model? I think he may have switched it out with his Honda? I just can't believe that the bag would have holes in it and no longer holds the grass after only three years? He told me when I bought it that it was a nice one and that he had the same model.

I have taken the blades off for replacement but in the process loosened the middle nut which is not connected to the blades. I have since tried tightening this nut but it doesn’t appear to be tightening fully. Can you please advise?

Hi Dennis B Sorry but I can’t help with your enquiry as I got rid of my Honda before replacing the blades. The mower was nothing but trouble from day one. I now have a self propelled Bushranger. So far it has proven an excellent machine.

Hello, I have a bent crankshaft from hitting a concrete Storm water inspection Cover. Is this replaceable or is it not worth the dollars to have it fixed. Any contact numbers would be great.

WaveBlender
WaveBlender

It is replaceable, but could be very expensive. With a quick google I found a crankshaft at $31.00 USD in the US, and exactly the same Honda part number here was around $340 AUD! Not sure if it was exactly the one for your model. You need to look at the labels on your mower and get the engine number first to start tracing part numbers. Ring Honda if you're not sure. They can probably quote on the part too.

If you or someone you know can replace it, I'd look overseas and work out the landed cost vs what Honda might charge you for the part, and consider if you're up for the job. Keep in mind there might be other components that need replacing (unless you're sure you only have to replace the crankshaft).

I suspect labour cost could be pretty high, but you might be able to find a decent small engine mechanic who can source the part(s) at reasonable cost (maybe even secondhand) and give you an overall repair cost.

Alternatively an engine swap is relatively simple, so there might be a mechanic who has one they could swap.

Just some thoughts to go on. A bent crankshaft isn't the end of the world. IT'll all come down to $$$.

Good luck

Hello, I just brought Honda HRR216PKUA 10/03/2020 after spending 45min comparing with other mower at bunningwarehouse, it price cost more than any others mower there..i chosen it cause I think it will be the best mower cause it cost more than others. I used it today cutting my lawn but feel very unsatisfied with the unit.

1) very hard and difficult to push 2) cutting levels is unsatisfied

Since there is no free trail offer anywhere else for this product, is there any chance I could return this unit and get a refund due to my unsatisfied with this unit??

Many thanks and awaiting for your kind consideration.

Regards,

Just out of interest, Why are you trying to push the mower when it self propels or is it not driving? Also given that you can adjust the height of each will independently, how can you not be able to adjust the height to show you want it?

Is it possible to slow the travel speed without trying to lift pressure on the smart drive trigger. I find that the mower moves faster than I can walk.

I'm surprised at so many bad reviews on this mower. I was just about to get one.

So if this is no good, can some one recommend a self propelled mower for residential use that is great? Not looking to spend much. I will need it to catch well as there are weeds.

Hello Mr. Smurf. I still use an HRR216 in my landscape maintenance business and have learned a few things that seem to help it perform adequately. But first of all, it is a little smaller than the HRX217's I normally use (great machines!) so it fits into some of the small townhouse yards we need to mow. The motor starts and runs just as well as other Honda models, which is a plus, not having to spend much time trying to get it started and running well and there's enough power for any mowing job. The main complaint I have is the difficulty in pulling it backwards but I found a couple of things that help: make sure you are not pressing on the drive levers at all while pulling back as even a slight touch on these engages the forward drive. Also if it is sluggish or locked when pulling back, just give the drive levers a nudge forward which usually helps loosen up the drive wheels. It's usually still a bit of an effort pulling it backward but these little remedies seem to help most times. As for the other problems such as loosening wheel nuts, broken wheel bolts and tire wear, these are easily fixed and not overly expensive. So it's not the best mower Honda has ever made but with the ever-reliable Honda motor it's still one of the best I've found within the price range.
