Jason Sherpa Electric Blanket Questions

Why are these blankets been sold when there a danger to customers I beleive fair trading needs to be contacted many say they haven't got there receipt all you need is a copy of your purchase on your bank statement to get your refund ,I have just purchased the jason wool electric blanket,I'm a bit scared to be using it now with all the comments, yes mine turned itself off won't risk it will be returning it thanks for the warning

My Jason Sherpa electric blanket switches itself off. Is this usual and for safety reasons or a defect?

This wasn’t a problem with mine. If you haven’t had it long maybe try to take it back to the retailer as it sounds faulty. Mine works but am very disappointed with it as the temperature is too low. Barely warm even on highest setting.

Mine started flicking off when i would turn it on and then started showing a E (by memory)... i kept flickimg it wondering why and then it burnt a hole in the connection. Unless is just turning off like a timer of try take it back.

When I try to turn on the blanket the control goes to H then it flashes P and I don’t know what that means.

It's faulty, don't do what i did, i started playing with the attachment where it connects to the material and then flicked it on and off and it caught fire, burnt a hole in my mattress. If you still have a reciept id take it back, ill never get one again after this

I tried to turn the blanket controllers on, but nothing is happening. I've checked the connections and it's turned on at the power, so how do I get it to work?

I've just purchased the Jason Sherpa Electric blanket and would like to know if I can place a mattress topper over it or should it go under.

I have found the sherpa blanket doesn’t get very hot so I wouldn’t put it under the topper as you won’t feel the heat at all.

Does the plug where you attach to the side of the bed have to be on the top of the bed or not? I find it very uncomfortable to sleep on? Is it safe to use a size larger?

Not sure Emsey. We returned this electric blanket due to the scary over-heating problem. I remember the plugs being a bit annoying but I wouldn't recommend buying an electric blanket that is a different size to the mattress. Maybe Jason could provide you with better advice. Go here: external link

Thank you Percy, I ended up buying a Sunbeam quilted blanket, the controls don't protrude too much but still a pest! I only ever use the blanket to warm the bed before I get in, I never leave it on! I'm getting on in age now & like to get into a warm bed, it gets VERY cold here over night & I never warm up if I get into a cold bed, I wish I had that problem in the summer, ha ha!
