I picked up my new mg essence 3 days ago. As soon as I left the dealership I applied the brakes and it stopped. But then the revs jumped to 4000 revs while stopped at the lights. I had to throw the gear to neutral to avoid hitting the car in front of me. So far it has happened 4 times. Has anybody had this problem??
I applied the brakes at a roundabout and it didn't brake. very dangerous car.
I just had this happen to me just now in a brand new ZS that I have as a loan car. Nearly drove me into a roundabout with a car entering on my right. Incredibly frightening!
I know now what the problem is. Mg has put the accelerator too close to the brake pedal. Factory fault. Should be a recall. Way too dangerous and must be rectified by MG
I have a ford territory awd,4 ltr, 6 speed, How would the mg compare with this car Although it is old some 13 years old now
Orange and apples buddy. The Ford with all its issues is a way better car, the MG is pure Chinese rubbish.
I agree with the other commenter; it's a tale of two cities and both have a liteny of issues. Stick with Japanese built cars especially Toyota, yes they are a bit boring but you'll thank me in the long run when your not stick on the road somewhere
My question is why would you buy a bran new Chinese car when you can have a few years old Japanese or Korean car for the same money?
Exactly what I think also
They said the same thing about Korean cars just a few years ago. The cars broke down, the paint would fade and peal after a few short years, Plastics yellowed and cracked. Bump something and the bumper would crack and pop half off. But here I am reading from someone saying a Korean car is up there with Japanese cars. They used to call Japanese cars rubbish once too. Seems to me that it was Australian cars that were rubbish and every time I read some negative comment about some car there is usually some type of bias involved. If they make a good car for a good price, the others SHOULD be worried...
Has anyone purchased the new Mg Hs suv excite model and what are your thoughts?
Picking mine up next Monday. Will give you an update when I’ve got it. But from the test drive, I loved it.
Friend has one and says its a real disappointment - as they say "Buy Cheap . . . . Pay Twice". Buyer beware they are in fact made in China and are a bit like the first Hyundai's - they were cheap, but they were rubbish.
as an owner of 7 months and 14000k i can say im thrilled with my MG HS Essence. Best car ive ever owned by far. Moved from a Sonata HyundI Premium The MG much superior
I enjoyed reading your review. I’ve just bought the MG ZS Excited and I’m waiting for it to be delivered. Do you have a boot liner and if so where did you get it from? Were there any other accessories that you bought apart from the Excite and I’m waiting for it to be delivered. Do you have a boot liner and if so where did you get it from? Hey Trish81 I did get a tow ball. I did want a particular hitch, but because the brand and car was new at the time, the hitch I was after wasn’t available and that was the same with roof racks. It’s almost a year now that maybe different. Apart from that nothing on top of what you get with base model .... which was a lot considering the price. Happy driving.
Aliexpress has many very well prices accessories
