Michelin LTX Questions & Answers
VerifiedI have a 2015 Hyundai Tucson. I only drive on roads. I have used Mitchelin Primacy 4 but found them a bit noisier than I like. I have new Goodyear Efficient grip and they are no better. Any strong recommendations for QUIET and comfortable tyres? Mine are 225 55 R18 98.

Hello, I have Michelin LTX Force fitted to my Landcruiser and they are very quiet. I have looked at the Primacy you use on your car and they have all the hallmarks of a quiet tyre: no big lumpy tread, continuous tread around the perimeter and so on. The LTX does not have a size that fits your car. One of the big problems with modern cars that compromises quietness is that they all have unitary construction. That is, the body of the car is the chassis, and the suspension and bodywork are all integral. This means that any road noise is imparted directly into the body. The Landcruiser has a separate chassis and the body is isolated from it on rubber bushes. You will therefore find that the same tyres on a unitary body vehicle will have worse NVH (Noise Vibration Harshness) characteristics than a vehicle with a separate chassis. I recently drove a new Mercedes Benz GLC SUV and I was surprised at the level of road noise. If this is the real problem, there will be a limit to what you can do to prevent it.
Thank you for your interesting and informative reply.

Where are they made?
My LTX force tyres are made in Brazil.
How much for 265 75 16 all terrain
In Michelin westite in Thailand, I did not found tire series 75. Tire size 265/70R16 it cost around 5290 Thai baht (5290/21=252 AUD) per tire (but I can buy at tire shop cheaper than recommended sell price show in tire company website).
Please contact tire dealers in your country for the exactly price.

Hello, i wondering i have replaced my tyre to michelin LTX force, but at the speed of 90Km/hr i feel that my steering shaking, has somebody have this experience? Please share..I am new to michelin
Never had this problem myself. Run these tyres for over 10 000kms so far (up to 110 km/hr) without any issues at all. Maybe it's mechanical - alignment or balancing?
Get your wheels balanced mate
The legal minimum is 1.7 mm I think but I would replace them when they got down to 3.2 mm (1/8 inch) Your tyres are the only thing between you and the road and a big tree. In my opinion anything less than 3 mm is dangerous on a wet road.
What are the Michelin AT tyres like on the beach?
Deflated to around 18 or 20 PSI they are similar to most other AT tyres on a beach. It largely depends on how the vehicle is driven. I think most tyre purchases involve some compromise. The best tyre in sand would be an aircraft type - plain round like a doughnut with very little tread but good for nothing else.
