2024 Eclipse Cross ES.Followed manual instructions to remove air intake tube to check levels in battery. It won`t let go with reasonable force.Dumbest idea ever to block a battery off like that.Any suggestions other than the dealer.Thanks.

Hi purchased a 2023 Mitsubishi Eclipse cross 7/23 2 months old now It looses brake vacuum overnight resulting very hard brake pedal...no brakes!!!!!! Start the engine & brakes work as normal .Service manager at dealer said this is normal for eclipse cross to bleed vacuum overnight???? I have never had a car that does this. So I am asking you eclipse cross owners...does your eclipse cross do this?? Thanks for replying.

Mitsibushi Eclipse Cross ES PHEV 2022 At speeds above 55k/h a frequency hum is heard inside car and it changes tone when speed increased. It happened today on a straight road, a truck whizzed past going opposite direction. Big burst of wind from this vehicle and noise started. Everything functions OK and tried all configurations of drive ect., still there. Vehicle has done 22Ks without an issue. Regards Adam

Brilliant review. Better than all those car review websites. Hope you continue to enjoy your car. It sounds like an excellent vehicle. The PHEV concept is an excellent compromise re ev v petrol engine.

Thank you. I might add, in 2022 I went three straight months without buying any petrol. Then we took a road trip from Brisbane to Victor Harbor Sth. Aust. From there we drove to Roxby Downs (North of Woomera) and then home, a total of 5,700kms. I was able to recharge the drive battery (at no cost) seven times on the way down and four times on the way back (route dependant.) Overall petrol consumption for the four weeks was 4.53 L/100Kms but that cannot be compared to a regular petrol driven car for a number of reasons. The car itself proved very comfortable to travel in. One stage of the trip the car travelled 564kms on one tank with an estimated seven litres remaining in the tank returning 6.59 L/100Kms on ULP91. The engine returns much better fuel economy on E10. At no stage does one experience "range anxiety." We are VERY happy with our purchase so far and are planning another trip soon.

Absolutely fantastic review. Thank you for being so articulate with this real world summary. Can I ask please, what range you were able to get on EV mode only?

Depends on the charge held in the battery. On trips, some charge stations say the battery is 80% charged when in reality it isn't. Distance travelled on an 80% charge should be 44kms but one can rely on 25kms (minimum) and up to 45 kms (terrain dependent.) If you are familiar with Willunga Hill (not far from Maclaren Vale) I began the descent with about 14kms drive battery charge remaining. At the end, the estimated charge said I had 72 kms range. Of course, that was an estimate that didn't make sense but at least the battery was fully charged and as we drove the range dropped very quickly to show more realistic results.

On Adaptive Cruise Control. When the slow lane runs out and merges into the overtaking lane, my 2021 Eclipse Cross Exceed applies the brakes once I move into the right hand lane. It frightened the life out of me when it first happened. I have since tested it further and I let it go to see how far it would brake to and on one occasion it decreased speed to 81klm ph from the set 100klm ph before I had to take evasive action and accelerate. It does this repeatedly when on the highway using Adaptive Cruise Control. There can be no other cars in front of you and it will still do it. I fear if I was driving in heavy traffic at 100 klms ph and merging it could cause a serious accident. Instead of it being a safety feature and a feature that makes for comfortable driving, it is a hazard and means you need to be aware each time that it will brake. Anyone following would be in danger as well. Does anyone else have this problem?

My 2021 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is braking when I change from the slow lane right into the normal lane when in Adaptive Cruise Control. Frightens the hell out of you. Have to accelerate to get it going again. Has anyone else experienced this?

I believe it can happen if it detects a vehicle in the direction where you're pointing your steering wheel. Usually I feel the acceleration when moving to the fast lane and if there aren't any cars in front of me. But it also breaks quite aggressively if detects anything in front of the car. It works great most of the time. It beeps if the road isn't straight to let you know that you need to be vigilant. But best to check with the service department if it happens often. Cheers

My car is a YB..........My car idles quite high when I turn it on at around 1600 rpm..........no matter if its cold or hot...........also when I turn a corner and accelerate I feels like as if the car is in 3rd or 4th gear until the revs get up then it seems ok. The car is the first turbo I have driven so this may explain these things..............just not sure.

I bought eclipse cross 2021 before 10 days only and I am hearing a sound coming from the car i can not recognize from where exactly after going out from the parking in the morning one time only when i am turning right or left with the steering with the first acceleration. The sound like friction sound. Can you tell me what it indicates for ?!

Abdulrahman A.

It could be from the tyres on the ground if the ground surface is very polished. I heard a sound from the tyres when I was in shopping parking once and I went down and I noticed that was from the front tyre friction on the ground surface.

I keep hearing 3 loud beeps while driving my car. Does anyone know what this is

AFK

do the 3 beeps occur with regular frequency or following specific events like radar incursions where objects come into play - we don't get lots of beeping events but it does beep when the active cruise control gets into distance between cars that have been set (when it engages and disengages) and other similar events but it doesn't beep a lot - I think you can re-programme the audio visual display screen to suit your preferences - there is full instruction in the drivers manual on how to do this - if you can identify the specific events that that cause the beeps, and they are not critical safety warnings you may be able to programme them out , but if they are regular and not identified then the dealer would no doubt be able to give you some advice. regards Afk

So. My wife loved her $38500 car BUT twice now on different occasions the car has surge and run rough fuel consumption goes up to around 80/90 lts/100 and all dash/instrument lights fade and flickering Mitsubishi said we must have put dirty fuel in it. C'mon Mitsubishi! Has anyone else had anything like this with there Eclipse. 37000 odd k's on it btw.

AFK
AFK

late answer, but this does sound odd - maybe dirty fuel is a source but one would hope the fuel filters would filter out "dirt" - water would be a different situation though, that could cause some grief - 80-90 litres a 100 has to be an aberration and possibly a temporary fault in the instrument calculation and display, hence the blinking on the instrument panel. Sometime my Pajero sport head unit display chucks a wobbly but turn on turn off fixes it, its not a persistent problem - no car could use 80-90 litres a hundred kilometres. Do you get your fuel from the same place or move around, contaminated fuel is not common but it does happen. We have only had one problem with our car, the radio antenna lead has resistance causing DAB+ problems on distant stations and Mitsubishi were very responsive - if this problem persists I would beat a path to the dealers door regards Afk

How much roughly cost for Mitsubishi black Edition now?

AFK
AFK

Hello, not an expert on the black edition, but I think that is last year's model and i think they go for $25k - $30k. I dont think it is as well specced as the new aspire model which sits underneath the exceed and i dont think they have the black edition in this years range. The 2021 Aspire goes for around $36k and the exceed $40k...these are both 2wd, i think awd adds another $2.5k. The exceed has everything you could want and drives very well and is very well specced up...we chose the pearl white colour which is probably the pick of the bunch and looks very nice.

I have just bought a 2021 Exceed. Very blurry rear view and 360 degree camera. Camera is nowhere near as good as the 2016 Honda city I just sold. Paddle shifters are a joke and block the words on the headlight and wiper switches. No electric tailgate, or inside tailgate release. For $44,000 including all my accessories, I’m very disappointed. My first and last Mitsubishi.

How do I turn off and on the heated seats . MY front passenger seat is always warm and i want to turn it off.

AFK
AFK

hello Robin, When the gear lever is in "park" position immediately to the right is 2 rocker switches - left one is for the left seat and the right one is for the right seat - when the rocker switch is in the middle the seats are off, when you click the rocker switch forward the seat will heat up to the highest temperature and when the switch is pushed forwards the front the seat temperature is at the minimum setting - the switch illuminates orange colour when turned on and no brightness when turned off. We love our heated seats - very nice on a winter morning! Regards Tony
