When first using fridge it was very well lit up in all of refrigeration section, now it seems it is not lit up in lower area of fridge. Very dull lighting in bottom of fridge, I am positive it was really bright throughout whole fridge section initially. The led light panel at top of fridge appears fine same as when I first got fridge. Thank you for your help
I thought the same. We just took delivery today. I think it's because the food blocks the light, so everything appears darker at the bottom
My ice door will not open, I can open it about a inch ( with force) but it will not open fully, could it be over stacked with ice or something else, any help is appreciated. Cheers.
Hi Mark, sorry I can't help with this question. You may have to call Mitsubishi direct. Possibly the scoop has not been returned to the correct spot and the ice is pushing it up and this is obstructing it. Kevin
Why is alarm not sounding when door left open for 1-2 minutes?
Firstly, I have the 700L I am sure if the settings differ according to the model however, the alarm should activate at 1 minute and give 2 short beeps and 2 beeps at 2 minutes up until 5 to 60 minutes it should be one continuous beep. So I suggest to check the plug in symbol on fridge setting to see if deactivated. Hope this help all the best.
We currently have a Samsung French Door Fridge with Water Dispenser only 4 years old - and now the Fridge keeps icing up . Will never buy a Samsung Fridge again! We now are considering the Mitsubishi 743L MR-WX743C Do any Mitsubishi Fridges have a water dispenser in built ?
no and the ice maker in my brand new fridge does not work and the service people they asked me to contact do not even come to my area, so I can't recommend their customer service so far.
Hello Ink, Go back to your retailer as whoever you have paid money to for the item should be giving you a remedy regardless which area you are in. Under the Australian Consumer Law, consumers have Consumer Guarantees when purchasing a product or service regardless of any customer service you have received.
Don't let the retailer push you to deal with the manufacturer yourself. Go back to the retailer as you have not paid the manufacturer money (unless you have bought directly from Mitsubishi) but the retailer.

If you continue to have problems in obtaining a remedy, contact ACCC and make a report. They should be able to guide you further.
Would the colour of this fridge/freezer match stainless steel appliances like my dishwasher which is stainless steel?
What is the difference between the Mitsubishi Electric 743L multi drawer MR-WX743C-S-A2 (Argent Silver) model compared to the Mitsubishi MR-WX743C-S-A model?
Yes. I did. No difference.
Love the fridge, do have a question around soft freezing. I moved meat from freezer to versa a couple of days ago, its still too hard to cut though. Running the soft freeze in L mode. How do I get the meat to be soft enough to cut?
Read page 18 of the manual, shows you how to set the versa to soft-freeze mode.
Hi, I am wondering whether the Versa Drawer can act as an extension of the fridge? What temperature can it go up to? Also, I we don't want to use the ice maker, can this section also be used as an extension of the fridge? What temperature can that compartment be changed to?
Can be fridge or freezer
No the ice maker is an ice maker, you could use it as a small freezer if you never put water in it. But it's pretty small. Versa can be used as a freezer or semi-freezer (below 0°C). I just use it an as extra freezer. Versa cannot be used as a fridge above 0°C.
I would like to know where the fridge is made. Is it Japan made ?
Hi Hazel, According to the sticker on the back of our fridge, it most definitely is Made in Japan.
Hope that answers your question.
Cheers, Laurence
I have recently purchased this fridge and am obsessed with it so far. I do have a few questions though. The ice takes a really long time to be made and when you set it to rapid ice it saves that function and makes it slightly faster but then goes back to normal ice setting after a short while. One would think I should have a full ice drawer by now (it’s half full) as I’ve had it a week and the water is always full plus I’ve set it to rapid ice over and over again. The fridge is not opened regularly and I don’t have it on eco or ice stop. Next question re the versa drawer. It’s on soft freeze and I stuck a whole chicken in that drawer. I thought this would be able to be cut and or cooked immediately from taking it out but it seems rock hard to me. Any advice would be great. Still love this fridge regardless but when I have guests this ice maker ain’t gonna cut it.
That seems odd. The icemaker baffled us when we first turned the fridge on and filled the water container, but it needed 24 hours or so before we started to see ice production. I tried the rapid freeze but it won't help if the rest of the fridge is still cooling down. After that it just produces all the time. Check your ice setting is just set to produce normal ice and it's not on the rapid or off mode. Other than that, check the water tank is homed in fully in the slot in the fridge.
Double check the troubleshooting on Page 37 of the Operating manual on Ice Making: external link
My understanding of the Versa compartment is that it is essentially another freezer compartment - just as well as the single freezer drawer on its own just wouldn't be enough going from our old side-by-side to this one. However, it has the ability to freeze at different rates to minimise food spoilage from freezing that the ordinary freezer might do to it (e.g., some left overs, etc). Have a read from page 14 of the Operating manual for more info about it.
Hope that helps!
ps if you want to keep something cooler but not frozen, use the very bottom compartment in the fridge. My only complaint about those two bottom compartments in the fridge area is that I have to open both fridge doors to get to them.
Hi all, I'm really interested in this fridge but I do have some hesitations. Firstly may I say I REALLY WISH they were still making the middle-sized one, I think it was about 630L. If that one was still available I would have no hesitations.
Anyway, my two main questions are these: Does the orange light in the vegetable drawer turn potatoes green? - If I can store potatoes in the fridge it will partially solve the problem of the 743L being too big. Also I'll be able to keep potatoes for more than about three days at a time!
And has anyone found all the different settings fiddly or annoying? Can it work as a kind of set-and-forget fridge? - I'm attracted to this fridge for its build quality and one or two other features, not so much for all the functions and I'm unlikely to use them all.
Cheers NK
Once you set the fridge settings, you don't really have to go back to it. Set and forget. I never store my potatoes in the fridge. Just in a dark space. The fridge is brilliant.
Good to know on settings - thanks.
We store our potatoes in the veggie part and they last fine.
Thank you.
Grand - I think that might be me sold, then. Thanks, responders.
I bought a 20 kg bag of spuds from a local farmer and filled the big section of the veggie drawer 2 weeks ago. So far they are going good. I still had room for a whole pumpkin, bag of tomatoes, carrots, onions, capsicums, bunch of celery and some other small items in the drawer.
Thanks for that - good news because my fridge arrived this morning so I am now committed!
I'm looking to purchase the 743L Multi Drawer. I have a KitchenAid Ice Cream bowl that is 16.7cm high and can see from the specifications sheet the dimensions of the larger freezer drawer is 16.3 cm, so it will not fit the freezer bowl. I would like to know if the smaller Freezer drawer is removable, even if only temporary to freeze the bowl when needed?
If you mean the clear plastic one in the main freezer draw, then it is easily removed. It's also really easy to put back in when you need it again. You lift and slide it out for ease of cleaning.
Hi Littlenae, As Mick mentioned, you can remove the clear, pull out tray in the main freezer drawer and that will give you plenty of height. The smaller freezer drawer, or the Versa drawer is not removable. It is a good option for temporarily freezing items, but not at that height.
Kind Regards, Mitsubishi Electric Australia Support.
I am interested in mitsubishi fridges. The house door width is 75cm. If I choose this fridge which has a depth of 73.8 cm, will it be able to go through? If not, can the fridge doors be removed prior?
I am also interested in the 710 Litre one, which has a depth of 76.4 cm (which is greater than the house door width). Will the doors have to be taken off first? Are the delivery people trained to do these?
I'd suggest contacting the retailer you're thinking of purchasing your fridge through, since they will be able to give you a better idea of what their delivery guys will and won't do. If they use an outside transport company, then delivery and set up will most likely be limited to unpacking it, plugging it it in and taking the packaging with them.
As for manouvering the fridge, I can only offer our recent experience for you to compare your situation. We got ours earlier this week (743L fridge). The delivery guys for Billy Guyetts brought it up in the box. I think leaving it in the box is preferred to protect the glass and finish as they bring it through the house to the kitchen. In our place, there's an 80cm wide archway that leads into a sharp left turn to the hallway leading to our kitchen. There was maybe a centimetre or two of space on either side as the fridge passed through it. The guys were able to get the fridge through and pivot it in that limited space.
Thanks Mick for the info. Hi Reviewer, I m waiting for a response from mitsubishi.
Hi Mick, I checked Billy Guyatt's website, it doesn't have the 743 L.
oh sorry. It does have. But the price is higher than Harvey Norman
You might be able to play them off against each other and get a better price. Appliances Online is another place that often has these fridges cheaper than Billy's and Harvey's. ;)
Thx Mick. Appliance Online doesn't have the 743 L. Maybe if I ask, they might still sell it?
It looks like they've got the white one for $3515 on their website - external link And the mahogany one for $3448 - external link They've also got the silver one, but at $5889. Their website can be a bit finnicky to navigate, since they put the Mitsubishi fridges in the multi-drawer category, but don't have a button for that on their scroll bars.
Definitely ring around and see if any of the retailers will match or beat the lowest price you can find. If your current fridge doesn't need to be replaced urgently, then being prepared to wait is another ace you can play. From my experience, it seems none of the retailers order these fridges in large quantities. Chances are if one of the bricks and mortar stores have one, it's likely to be display stock, which is another thing you can use to haggle the price down one way or another.
Hi FairLady, We recommended transporting this refrigerator in the supplied packaging as much as possible to protect the glass doors. The depth of the fridge, before you put the cover on the front feet is 738 mm so technically it will fit through your doorway. The built in rollers go the other way, so the fridge will need to be lifted through the door way. We recommend leaving the protective wrap on the fridge and maybe adding something like a blanket to further protect the glass doors.
You will need to speak to your retailer for delivery options, particularly the manoeuvring required to get it into place.
Hope this helps.
Kind Regards, Mitsubishi Electric Australia Support
Hi Mitsubishi, With the packaging, will the thickness still be 738 mm?
Hi FairLady,
The original shipping carton has a depth of 805 mm. One the outer carton is removed there is a wrap, which is like a big bag. That should be left on while moving it.
To those who has this fridge in White, does it get finger mark and dirty easily?
We have the white. It doesn’t really show finger marks that much. Looking at it now, if I choose the right angle there are some there, but I have to concentrate to see them. And we are pretty finicky when it comes to things like that. Definitely much better than stainless!! We ABSOLUTELY recommend this fridge.
Good to know, Many thanks.
I am trying to buy this fridge but it seems that it is not in stock and I have to order. However, my fridge has died. I wonder how long the wait time will be if I order now. Thanks
We ordered one last week from Billy Guyetts - 6 to 8 weeks was the estimated time they gave us. Of course, our old fridge still works (despite being a cheap POS), so waiting isn't a problem. Only suggestion I can offer you is to ring around and see what other retailers have to say.

I have noticed the vegetable draw is making my vegetables very limp. I have tried to adjust the settings but it has not made any difference. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Thank you.
Hi Allison, Adjusting the temperature settings is the first step to fixing this issue. The next thing to note is that different fruits and vegetables keep best based on the humidity the need, amount of ethylene produced, ethylene sensitivity and temperature.
CHOICE has an article on best ways to store fruit and vegetables: external link
Storing vegetables & fruits in plastic wraps or plastic containers, ideally with adjustable air vents, may help to keep them even fresher.
If you continue to experience issues storing your vegetables, feel free to contact us: external link

There is a setting to raise the humidity (for leafy vegetables) which does help. I had the same problem, especially during the drought when the ambient humidity was 5-10%. Storing things in plastic bags is a sorry excuse when forking out this much money for the fridge.
I can believe the various of prices there are on this fridge. In Vic the prices here is about $4000-$4200. And I see some have you brought for $2900 to 3600. wow I need a deal like this

Just purchased my fridge yesterday. It’s beautiful and huge. How are you meant to store 4 litre bottles of milk as they don’t fit on the shelves to high and the door has a strange shape on the bottom. Can you offer suggestions? Fi
We just purchased this fridge, we are extremely happy with it but confused to what the versa drawer can be used for, I have been told by the salesman at Harvey Norman it can be used as a freezer, can it be used a a normal freezer for ice cream etc?
external link
I had confusion with this one too. Versa stands for versatility. You can change the setting to be used as an extra freezer. I tried ice cream in it, but prefer the ice cream in the freezer. I have frozen berries in versa and any kind of meat I'm going to use in a week or two. Much less time defrosting but it keeps it fresh. Pretty much anything that needs a bit more than the supercool in the fridge..
Blondy thank you for explaining it clearer, can it be use for keeping foods long term?
Hi Mariese, I have the same fridge delivered 2 days ago. The driver plugged the fridge in for me immediately, but I remember that normally we need to wait for hours before plugging it in after transportation. I asked the driver whether I need to wait before connected to power, he said no the fridge is ready to use. Now I'm a bit worried cause it's a bit noisy when the compressor is running, the Decibels reading is around 35-40. how about yours?
Hi Rwansunc, We had our fridge delivered last Saturday, the driver plugged it in and said to wait 1hour before use, we waited and we have had no trouble so far and our fridge is very quiet you wouldn’t think it’s switched on. Maybe give the retailer a call and explain what’s happened. I hope it gets sorted for you. Besides the noise, are you happy with the fridge? Good luck, all the best, Regards, Mariese
One of the selling points of this fridge is that it's almost noiseless. I'd have to say it is because I can never hear anything of mine. Obviously you have a fault and the service people are very competent. I had to have the front of my versa draw replaced as the glass got shattered in transit
Hi Mariese, Congratulations on your purchase. The MR-WX743C is a wonderful refrigerator. The Versa Drawer has an operating temperature range of about -9°C to -5°C in Soft Freezing Mode and from about -18°C to -12°C when set to Freeze. The dedicated Freezer Drawer operates at -22°C to -16°C.
Please see page 22 of the user manual for more details. external link
Hope this helps.

The a2 version is the new model what is the difference if any and are they still manufactured in Japan Many thanks Ellen
I would like to know the same as well. I was told by a retailer that due to the London apt. fire, it was deemed the foam around the compressors of fridges are a potential fire hazard. He went onto say, they changed the law recently that requires all fridge manufacturers to remove this "foam" from their models sold to NSW.. So the fire hazard that has been used in fridges for years has now been removed by Mitsubishi and the other manufactures. Is this true Mitsubishi?
