Is it possible to use this as a repeater?

2.4Ghz Wifi drops out OR the router asks for the WIFI (2.4/5Ghz)password again, but keeps asking even with the right ones, until I power cycle it. It's not my NBN connection(Network) I have troubleshooted it several times with Internode, who also know & have an online guide for this modem. Firmware has manually been updated to the latest one from Netgear's website, even after each factory reset. Has anyone found a fix or workaround for a similar problem with this or another Netgear router?

Thank you for your time reading. Rex

I’v had this problem trying to connect google nest & Mirabella smart globe. Can’t connect globe to 5g must be 2.4g etc How I fixed it was by turning off wifi on iPhone 13 & on again, then connecting my iPhone to the guest (2.4g) & then continue to connect globe to same wifi as phone through Mirabella Genio app & It worked. This also allowed me to connect 2 x google nest minis son the 2.4g guest & other devices. Hope this helps! Please let us know

I am using it with Internode NBN(FTTN), have had it just under a year. Internode have an online guide on how to set up this modem, but they don't sell it, but they know it well(each tie I have rang them. Set up was easy enough, even after hard reset and manually installing the latest firmware downloaded from Netgear(1.0.0.74) because the Netgear dashboard won't find any updates itself(also worrying).

Daily ISSUE : 2.4Ghz WIFI disappearing(5G sometimes remains), and needs a power cycle, then works for a random length of time (not sure if overheating, has ventilation, not not a fan pointed at it) Sometime the WIFI 2.4&5G stops and will require/ask me to (re)input the (strong)password again(after connecting before) and won't accept the correct/same password, until another power cycle.

Before the Wifi disappears/disconnects, it sometimes it slows to a crawl, so is not reliable and impacts working from home. Any suggestions on what has worked for you if you had the same issues? or just return it? and any advice on that front? Do I need to actually Troubleshoot with Netgear first? As they are hard to get a hold of.

Thank you all for for your time to help, in just reading this and for any replies I get. Stay safe.

Hi Rex, I've had mine in the cupboard for over a year, not sure what to do with it because I had dismissed it as unreliable. This week I learned a new firmware 1.0.0.76 so I decided to do complete firmware clear / upgrade and to my surprise, I think Netgear may have fixed the reliability issues. So there is a trap noted on the forums where a factory re-set causes issues with the later firmware versions. So what I did, was: 1. Downloaded & Flashed 1.0.0.38 (the earliest available from Netgear) 2. Did a factory reset via the button at the back of the unit 3. Did the minimum config changes to get it going and avoided all setup (including genie / NBN) 4. Downloaded & Flashed 1.0.0.76 5. Proceeded to re-configure the Modem/Router for use.

Voila.. I have not had any reliability problems / drop outs since... 1 week so far... I'm surprised, I thought Netgear may have dismissed it, but maybe they are going to support it for a bit...
