Hi, Can a Battery Sense Monitor - BSM888 be used on a Li battery in a caravan that is charged via a solar panel or a 240-12V battery charger, without being damaged or damaging the caravan electrics?

can I monitor both 24v and 12v using two separate devices on the same vehicle
Hi Tony, Yes you can use one to monitor 12V and the other to monitor 24V, but keep in mind to use the complete features the battery will need to be flooded lead acid type, anything else an you will only see voltage readings. Oricom
thank you
Installed the monitor and trying to use it. It keeps asking for a password, so the thing is pretty much useless. Have tryed resetting so called password and still nothing. This is brand new and the battery connection is correct. No sure why it’s asking for a password and will not let me do anything in the app.

Mate the password is 0000. I only figured it out by accident. FKn ridiculous that nothing is written in the instructions or that they had an answer for you here.
Yeah I tried 0000 still incorrect. Tryed heaps of different number combos still nothing. Something so simple should t be so hard.

Any more luck with the password problem? I am having the same issue
Is this compatible with lithium batteries? I saw these on Gadget City website. It says compatible with all 12/24v batteries. Oricom site says designed for lead acid batteries
Hi there, this product is designed to be used on 12/24 Volt standard flooded type lead acid batteries, per the Oricom website. Oricom
The website actually states "Compatible with all 12/24 volt batteries" external link Don't buy it for cars with AGM batteries.
Hi am interested in running this product on my secondary 12vdc lead acid deep cycle which is charged by Redarc 12/25bcdc in the rear off my ute as a way monitoring the status of the battery while driving? Is it compatible for this situation with the redarc charger ? Thanks
Hi Paul I purchased 2 of the Oricom battery monitors a few weeks ago and fitted one to the start battery of our car and one to an AGM battery in our caravan. The van battery is charged via a solar panel, a 240v C-Tek charger when it is connected to power and a DC to DC charger mounted on the car while we are towing. Both units seem to be working fine, and are visible side by side in the app. Obviously the info for the AGM battery doesn’t show cranking voltage but it does show capacity and charging status which is what I wanted. Hope this helps. Cheers Dave
Thanks Dave, i will give it a go then. Appreciate your response. Thankyou
Can I connect the positive terminal into a positive (always-on) in fusebox in the engine bay? My battery terminals do not have screws/nuts in them to attach with, but Its easier to attach into positive in the fusebox.
Hi Welms, it is best to connect directly to the battery. By doing this it will exclude any poor connections that may be in the positive or negative connections. If customer is unsure then best to get auto electrician to install. All the best, Oricom.
