RACV Mobile Battery Service Questions & Answers
racv.com.auWho actually manufactures RACV batteries? I think members are entitled to know what they are paying for.
RACV batteries are 'manufactured' by Club Assist P/L who are located in Eagle House Bourke Street, a building owned by the RACV. There website is external link and their warranty statement that states "All warranty claims are subject to full battery assessment by Club Assist. The battery must be returned to the place of purchase together with proof of purchase." can be found at external link .
Aren't they manufactured in South Korea?
Hi Tom, yes I think that you are correct. I very much doubt if Club Assist is the manufacturer. I checked with a friend who has an RACV battery it's stamped made in south Korea. So it's probably LG, Samsung or SK on.
If battery still covered under waranaty is good working order when tested but other part like alternator etc. Draining the battery is the battery outlet still obligated to replace your battery with new batter?
Hi Naser, we advise that Product Review is not monitored by the battery team. Please call the battery team on 1300 653 823 and they will be able to advise further on the warranty. We hope you have a good week. Kind Regards, Teejae.
Replaced battery in 2015 vw polo 8/1/22 by RACV Why did it cost me 395 dollars?? Advertised elswhere for 250 dollars.I'm a gold card holder, not happy.
Because RACV probably told you that you need a special battery for that car. That's what they told me about my Suzuki Swift, they lied !!!
Sounds like a ripoff to me,pure greed.Been a member for over 50 years.
Heinz I’m no battery expert but if your car needed a specific type of battery that would cost more My biggest problem is RACV treats regional customers as 2nd rate people
Are Mobi 170 amp AGM battery's any good
Pathetic and syressfull
Ok was more so talking about Mobi 170 amp AGM battery's to me they sound to cheap for a good battery it's for my son's camper van.
I paid for a 3 year warranty for the battery i received from the racv but it was never emailed to me?
I had a battery change guy showed me new battery but when to change he went back and I am 100 percent sure he has inserted refurnished battery. Any ideas?
This is difficult because we don't know what indications HR B saw that led him to think it was refurbished. I would doubt RACV would try to "gyp' a customer. Maybe ring RACV and ask if they refurbish some batteries, and get RACV opinion. If the battery posts were unscared ie, no marks on them I would suggest it was a new battery. My experience with RACV was nothing but perfect, fast efficient and effective. My suggestion to HR B is contact RACV. The batteries come with a warranty as well , Did HR B get a warranty card with is purchase. Sorry I cant help any further.
What brand are your RACV batteries? Are they Australian made?
Not Australian made, when I had mine replaced under warranty for the 4th time.. (had car checked by auto elec no issues - all points cheap batteries) the racv guy said they were Korean made.
I do not know what brand it is. Just that it only has a number tag. No other manufacturer label. They should tell the customer that they are selling this kind of battery before they change out my old battery.
From my experience these are not Australian made, but batteries imported from Korea. They are minus any Manufacturer information or details. All they have is a stick on RACV Label with a code on it. Rather a shonky practice in my opinion, one that should be investigated and not by the RACV Management.
