Coffee not coming out
Hi all, I have found out that the red Flashing (power) light is the steam sensor switch according to a post I saw. I am not sure where it is located. One is on the steam pump and the other up top I guess near the group head. The machine seems to make coffee although it is a bit fast eg 14sec per 60ml Love some help please. I recieved this unit from someone who said it as been used only twice. John
Hi, When trying to power on my coffee machine the power light flashes once, it beeps once then shuts down. Won't do anything again until I turn it off at the PowerPoint but then dose the same. Any help me know what's happening?

Hi, I'm having the exact same problem, Factory reset unsuccessful. Any tips for a solution?
I have completed several descaling cleans on my EM6910 with tablets and everything appears clean but only a very small amount of coffee is expressed and a large amount of water runs into the drip-tray. Any suggestions?
Hi Enco, It sounds like it could be the soleinoid valve you will need to take it to one of our service agents attached external link to be looked at they will be able to assist you. Thanks
Thanks for that. Will get it checked. Enco
Hi, I have the same problem and tried the reset process without success. Do you have any other suggestions?
Question relates to an EM6910 Cafe Series that I've had for many many, years without a single problem until now. The extraction system seems to be working fine and a couple of months back I changed the water filter - all good. The problem that has only just arisen (for both me and the machine) is: The steam wand for heating and frothing milk is not getting up to full pressure - its capable of heating a jug of milk but does not have the pressure it once did for frothing. Have cleaned the pipe head and the pipework seems to be in order. Any suggestions - I'd like to be able to make a coffee again.. Thanks Doug
Hi Doug, It sounds like its your steam pump. I have attached a list of service agents around Australia external link which should be able to asssit you with your issue. Thanks
I have purchased the ESE adapter basket for my EM6910. It has arrived but I am now uncertain what size ESE pod it is designed for, is it 7g, 10g, 14g, 18g or 20g. Sunbeam can you pls assist? The Sunbeam ESE pod adapter part number is EM6910150 Thanks
Hi Felixity, 20 grams should be perfect. You can try 14 & 18 but the coffee may be a little weak. Thanks
My cafe espresso ll machine EM380 is not working . When you switch it on it makes a loud grinding noise and no water comes through. The milk wand is not working too. Machine is 3 years old

Hi Montzec, Sorry I may of missed your question can you please ask again?. Thanks
My EM6910 was working faultlessly until a few days ago, after a power outage at my home, now the automatic function settings - 1 cup/2 cup are no longer ‘remembered’, the machine pumps a little bit of coffee through then stops well short of the 1 cup or 2 cup levels that were programmed into it. I have re-programmed it and it works great while the machine is still in the ‘wake’ mode but when I wake it from standby mode, say the next morning, the settings are no longer ‘remembered’. Can anyone shed any light on this issue and what I would need to do to fix it?

Hi Nathan D, Please find attached the product manual refer to page 37 maybe try resetting your machine first & trying the cleaning process again & seeing if that works for you. Thanks
Hi thanks for getting back to me. But it still does not work. I hold down the single and double shot. The briefly push the power the double shot light comes on. When I let it.all go the machine just beeps 4 times then starts warming up.
Hi Nathan D, If you hold the single shot & double shot buttons down together & then press & hold the power button down then let go of the single shot & double shot buttons. Just make sure you press firmly on the power button so the cleaning process starts. Please try this & let me know how you go. Thanks

Thanks not really the answer I was hoping for :-) I was hoping for something useful because well for a start you don't seem to list New Zealand service agents so not hopeful really. Never mind we will box on pull it apart find the answer to the issue and then let you know what it was . a service manual would be useful can you supply one ? My husband is an instrument technician - works on complex scientific and medical instruments he will be capable - All the best Paula
Hi Paula C, Firstly can you please try descaling I have attached the product manual for you external link & if the issue is still there it quite possibly is the valve assembly that needs replacing. The part number is EM69117A but depending on the age of the machine you may also need part number EM69132C. If you would like to send me your personal email address in a private message I can forward on to you a step by step guide. Thanks
First just let me say this product has been one of the best buys ever. I brought it for my wife for Xmas ,listen to this somewhere between 14- 16 years ago and upto now have not had any trouble with it. Question I have is that the hot water is taking along time to push through the coffee beans and doesn’t seem to be the adequate quantity to make a good coffee. Has anyone else experienced this problem. Not complaining has been a fantastic machine
Hi Wayne C, Have you been descaling the unit? & have you had any servicing done on it through a service agent?. Thanks
My 6910 makes coffee and delivers hot water. When I open the steam valve nothing happens. Am I right in assuming that it must be the steam solenoid valve that is faulty? Does anybody know the details of the solenoid so I can get another one?
