I have replaced the carby on my victa v40 four stroke mower, adjusted choke setting and replaced the spark plug but it is still hard to start. once running it is fine. What else should I consider?
Where do I turn the petrol on to start the mower
The V40 doesn't have a fuel 'tap' as it is a 4 stroke. All you should need to do is move the throttle to start, and pull the start cable. I have found if the mower hasn't been used in a while, it may take quite a few pulls of the start cable to get it started. Sometimes sitting it in the sun to warm up helps. You can download the manual if you search online.

There is fire firing out from the exhaust manifold. The whole area is burning red often firing out. What is the cause and how to rectify this. The machine starts well and has no problem cutting but fire is often seen coming out.

Yes its a 4 stroke. But I doubt you can use E10 fuel. Stick with 95 octane petrol if I were you. No oil in the mix!
Sorry. Misread the question. My answer should refer to a V40, not a Quattro 40. My mower was from the 1980s.

Firstly, you must NEVER mix oil with the fuel if you have a "4-stroke" mower engine. If you can confirm you have a 2-stroke engine, then the Fuel/Oil ratio is: 25:1 This equates to: 5L Fuel + 200ml of 2 stroke oil.
I just bought a second hand Victa V40 lawnmower. Anyone know where to find the Owner’s manual? I looked at Victa website and it needs model number to search for the manual. Unfortunately I cannot find the model number stamped anywhere on the mower, only the engine serial number. Thanks.

If it is only a rope you are looking for, last year when my rope snapped and I just bought a cheapest one from Bunnings to replace it. Not the original which is only so long and cost more but the 20m long 3mm utility cord: external link and it still looks like new. Works just like the original.
