Hi, I have a 2015 Renault Koleos Sport Way. The electric passenger seat does not move up and down when engaging the button. The other lever that operates the seat forward and back an tilts it is working. Any advice on what the problem is? - thank you
It could be a blown fuse or a faulty switch is there anything jammed under jammed under the seat take it into a mechanic I’m sure they will fix the problem I hope this helps

We have a 2008 Koleos diesel automatic gearbox which seems to rev very high before it changes gear (if at all on the motorway, to go into 6th gear). Is this a low oil problem or another problem with the gearbox? Thanks David

Hi. Are the Left hand front window regulators the same throughout the whole of the H45 range 2008 - 2015? It's just that sometimes I see them advertised from 09/13 onwards to 2016. I assume that would be from September 2013 onwards. Am in need of a LHF window regulator for a 2009 H45 Koleos. Are they all they same regardless? TIA
I dont think they are the same . even a 2009 will depend on if its dynamic or privilege. ie auto up down. wiring and in the plug , i know elec mirrors 2009 are not the same as a 2010 . Renault move wires around in the same looking plug. from year to year. So if buying a used part check that wires are same color and in the same position in the plug before plugging in.
Hi. I have a 2014 diesel and it has been suggested to me by two mechanics that the transmission oil may be low or need replacing as the car shakes in fourth and fifth gear under load. Does anyone know where I can find out what transmission oil is used as I would like to replace it with Renault's recommended product. Thanks

I haven't been able to find an alternative. Renault Service in Adelaide told me oil doesn't need to be changed until transmission fails. Great answer. No.
Look up the Penrite web site for a local quality brand. Elf is normally imported at huge cost.
Found an equivalent Australian oil. Castrol Transmax DEXRON®-VI MERCON® LV says Elfmatic J6 compatible.
Penrite says See Dealer.
I have a Renault Koleos (H45) 2015 with a faulty air conditioner fan not working. Have Checked relevant fuses – OK Scanned for error codes – none present Removed glovebox – tested feed between fan and BCM – OK Removed and bench tested the blower fan – working Checked feeds into blower fan – OK feed signal and earth OK Tested feeds from climate control to fan motor - OK

hi everyone, I need some help. An attempt at jump starting a 2.0ltr diesel Koleos Dynamique 2009 lead to a trip to the dealer after a spark. The battery an alternator was replaced as well as a second hand ECU. The EGR and throttle valve were also replaced. This did not resolve the issues of warning messages. The Koleos was not running well until the DPF was cleaned. Air conditioning has stopped since waring light I believe. Its been running well since but the engine warning light has remained on. The dealership directed me to an auto electrician who tried to get the engine light to turn off and get the air-condition to return and he wasn't able to. Also the Koleos won't access 4x4 but drives well in 2x4. Yep the hits just keep coming. Would anyone have any ideas???? As I'm at a loss and the money I've spent recently has been ridicules for a vehicle thats just done 110,000kms and problems haven't been resolved.. its been serviced regularly by dealership and always taken care of. I really appreciate anyones suggestions or knowledge.
Damn your having bad luck but your car is only worth $4000 to $8000 on carsales.... I hope you have not been ripped by the dealership.....Sounds like you have spent a whole lot of money chasing this problem...How much so far $$ I learnt my lesson with diesel cars and now have a straight petrol motor no turbos nothing... Koleos HZG Intens 126,000 ks and no problems......

It looks to me like the dealership screwed up. What was this "spark"? Replacing the battery is ok if the old one tested "done". Is this so? Replacing the alternator after 110,000kms seems premature, particularly if your battery was old and "done" and a simple battery change would fix the problem. Why change the ECU?, particularly with a second hand one which probably was suss. Did the dealer show you the print out of the ECU with it indicating the faults? I think you got ripped off with the alternator and ECU. Tell the dealer you want a refund and threaten going to the small claims court if you are in Australia. The ECU is probably the culprit and needs tuned/ adjustment to fit the model you have.
Thanks for replying guys, I wasn't there when the so called spark allegedly screwed things. They said it was while trying to jump it.?? ECU was replaced because they said it was needed and guaranteed that a second hand one was good as new, doing this by trying to keep the costs down. Yes I agree they have no idea, I never thought a small issue could turn out so expensive and showing no success. If I bought a OBD2 scan tool would that bring up the error code directing me to the ECU?

Diesel koleos gearbox is std 6 speed auto it is not cvt, diesel cars need a longish run on freeway min half hour every couple of weeks , or you will get injection fault which will be blocked DPF filter.

I gather it is the transmission ECU about $300 + plug out plug in.....If you know what the problem is, as you have mentioned go to a mechanic and get it replaced??? Cannot help any further as I am not a mechanic..

It depends on how well the vehicle was serviced, especially the CVT transmission, if it has not been serviced in its life, then avoid the car, they are prone to fail, extremely expensive to replace, cant repair, $9800 replaced, more then the value of the car itself, our Koleos is now coming up to 5 years and the warranty is nearly out, so the car goes and will buy something else new, we did not care for the CVT at all, the SUV is very nice, but the CVT lets it down terribly, the shuddering all the time, the engine strangled by the transmission, I tell people, but at your own risk, sorry Renault, that Transmission was a horrible mistake, this is why you see so many Renault Koleos's on the second hand market, hope this helps, if you cant live without it, buy it.

Steven, you will find the 2021 model CVT works well with the 2.5 petrol engine. These items are sourced from Renault`s partner Nissan`s X- Trail and are totally reliable. If you research technical data on transmissions you will find CVTs are superior to other automatics. Others keep increasing the number of gear ratios to try emulate a CVT.

I have a 2013 Renault Koleos Phase III, and I am having some issues with it recently. The most important issue is that when I turn the "lights on" while the engine is running, the LED lights on the instrument cluster do not illuminate, but the moment I turn off the engine the lights go on instantly.
The other issue is that the electric side mirrors stopped working suddenly. Also, the dual-zone air conditioning doesn't work and the knobs function separately even when the dedicated button is off.
I have checked all the fuses inside the car and inside the engine bay, but I did not find any faulty fuses.
I really appreciate it if you could advise what should I do to rectify these issues, especially the first and the second ones. Many thanks in advance for your considerations and I look forward to your responses.

Hey, if you have TOM TOM as your navigation system, you need to go to their website and pay. You can update the system for free, but it will not update your navigation.

My daughter has a koleus 2009 and loves it very much but recently after stopping to go into a shop it wouldn’t start and was taken to a garage for attention since then they have not been able to find out why this happened and are now thinking of taking the engine out costing thousands! The garage said they had checked everything and couldn’t find the answer! Seemingly the mechanic said that the fuel was reaching the engine but the compression was only at half strength. Don’t know what to do can anyone help?

Hey Guys, I just purchased a 2014 Renault Koleos with 169000kms on the clock. Little did I know that the car's CVT is infamous for how reliable it can be. Does anyone here have a 2014 or earlier Koleos? How much mileage has your car racked up so far? I'm a little anxious now - what should I be doing to ensure this car continues running without giving me too much of a hard time.
Have the transmission oil changed, its expensive, but should be done every 100,000 kilometres to assure the transmission survives, we will sell our Koleos, 2017 just before the warranty runs out, no faith in the transmission, ours has been terrible from brand new, never again.
I have a 2013 Koleos Dynamique Bose bought in 2015 with 25k on the speedo. Now there's 240k on it including several 800km tows with a trailer or boat. It's been regularly serviced since I've had it and it runs perfectly. Had to replace a few knobs and switches just before the 5yr warranty ran out and 2 years ago the air con compressor was replaced but other than that it's been a great car.
