modem gave me signal in the back yard with this one it's gone. Thie range for this item is around 5 metres. The modem was placed in the exact same spot. I would NOT recommend this product to anyone. Update. It's worse than I thought had to reconnect old modem to get a reliable connection to all devices. Feel free to message me for more info. Do NOT waste your money on this product. Another update. Even with a booster it does not work properly. Its best function is being put in the bin. Total rubbish.

much more power than I imagined. - I can boost the power so I don't even need the extender - Router logs can be sent to my log server - Router had issues with connecting back to the internet. occurs once a week. But the firmware flash fixed it for me - this supports my Synology NAS really well.
con. every now and then there must be some issue with the NBN network. I need to unplug the D-Link router in order for it to reconnect. don't think that is the modems fault.

100-107 MBs when installed from our iiNET 100 plan. I found installation easy and was able to follow the app/instructions. This occurred even though the DLINK was installed in a small laundry insulated with a cupboard on one side and a toilet on the other. After a little tuning of those antennae, the DLINK provided pretty even service at 100+ MBs through the house and garden regardless of which doors where opened/closed. We have 4 people using the system, two are kids with heavy usage (videos etc.) and one person works from home. I haven't tried true parental controls, however each device can be assigned to a user and the device or user can have their service turned off (or restricted to scheduled hours). This works great to impact only one person, or one person and shared family devices.

our original D-link router but they interfere with the main router causing bigger problems. I contact Chris from D-link who recommended this product. Due to having a sonos system i still needed the 2.4ghz network so you can turn off smart wi fi and split the networks to 2.4ghz and 5ghz. I bought 3 of these devices which act as one device wherever you are in the house. You can purchase as a 3 pack and due to having wired ethernet around the house i place the 2 add ons at these points giving either wired access or super fast 5ghz throughout. The devices advise installing the AquilaproAI app which is super easy to use and you tell it if the add ons are purely wi fi or connected with ethernet cable. I renamed the new main router the same as my old network and all devices automatically connected and the add on units sync to the main unit. I now have the full 500MBPS connection to the internet which my provider gives media wi fi or wired connection. Excellent product and could probably have managed with 2 devices in a 300m2 house . They are very pleasing on the eye also. Great value and great product

worse than useless... ZERO Stars – Bought 18/02/23. Had great hopes for this WiFi Extender. INstallation. The packaging and user guide (will get to this shortly) states 3 simple steps… Read more
using the WPS. As a WiFi extender one would expect for the extended range to carry the same SSID... no it doesn't. So if you followed the instructions and *boom you think you are done... sadly ... NO. Yes it connects to the router.. but your devices wont connect to the extended signal as it now as a different SSID.. The manual says your old SSID-EXT & -EXT5G for the 5GHz signal, however, your 2.4GHz SSID will have the same SSID as your 5G (I'm guessing this is a bug). You need to configure via the web browser...
PERFORMANCE... on 2.4Ghz your bandwidth seems to be about 50% (I have 2signal strength on the extender). The 5GHz bandwidth the bandwidth drops by 50-60%. Furthermore the Speedtest runs for a few seconds, then fails. SO i am not so sure how this is going to perform with streaming video.
User Guide. Throw it away. Has no information on configuring all the other parameters.
Firmware update. The device's firmware comes with v1.01 (date 16/6/2017).. clicking the Check for firmware updates, has it checking for a few minutes and then returns no results.. not even whether it the most up to date... given we are in 2023 i would have expected as least one firmware upgrade
Final thoughts... well after i changed the SSID's to match the existing SSID's... my devices seem to be connecting.. as far as performance goes.. well i will have to get back after doing some more tests and running it in for a while. So far, I am unimpressed. AT RRP$229 ... 1* ...for now i have given it 2* as i got it on sale at JBHIFI ..
UPDATE: 1 Connectivity issues.. seems any device that connects thru the Wifi Extender does not have internet connectivity. So i checked the Support website... the device model is DAP-1720 amd despite during the firmware update check non returning any newer version there appears to be a newer version 1.1 (15/07/2020) .. so time to download this... .once again, this is not the plug in, 3 clicks and all done. Now 1.5* instead of 2*
So i downloaded the new firmware and tried to install it but it failed.. see image.
UPDATE 2: So i have been configuring this device to try and get it to work. SO you have to choose a frequency to connect the extender to the router.. 2.4 or 5.0Ghz If i connect the extender to the router using 2.4 Ghz I can connect to the 2.4-EXT network and download but upload fails. I have no internet access thru 5.0-EXT. If i connect the extended to the router via the 5.0GHz freq. When i connect to the 2.4-EXT or the 5.0-EXT i have no internet access.
It really is the 5.0GHz freq that one usually tries to the extend because this is the freq with the higher throughput and the shortest range. I'm also not sure why they would bother having a 2.4 and 5.0Ghz freq because when you connect the router to the extender via 2.4GHz you will only get the max speed of the 2.4 (and not the 5.0).
Which comes to my final point... this extender now gets ZERO stars... it does nothing and whatever it tries to do it fails. There is concern here for misrepresentation and i may be taking this up with the ACCC under the Australian Consumer Laws.

due to huge chunks of data being processed for graphs broken down by domain name. Eventually it got a firmware update that seems to improve things and resolve the reports issue.
Main problem is no IPv6 support, so it's basically useless for the future of the Internet. I don't know how they have the gall to ask that much ($600 at time of writing) for an outdated machine. Hopefully it gets another firmware update to address that.

the effective life of the product. Have tried ringing the Warranty department at D Link about ten times over the past two weeks and each time you select option 3 and the phone transfers you and then automatically hangs up on you. Same if you go to other enquiries section which was option 5. Selected Option 2 Sales and spoke to a lady who tried to put me through, but couldn't, I assume she had the same issue as me, she said she would get them to ring me. Also sent D-Link an email. They rang back at 7.38pm at night and left a message telling me to call them in Singapore, because it was an international number I didn't answer thinking it was spam. Unacceptable that I have to ring an international number for customer support. Worst customer service and ridiculous warranty process. They have not followed up with me and I can't seem to contact them.
