They charge exorbitant prices, and it is the translator, not the girl who writes the messages. When it comes time to meet up, the girls either disappear or they want a ludicrous amount. Look at the median wage of Ukraine before the war, and you will see they are cheating people with the amount they are charging.

I read these reviews RE: AMM. 1st, It is not a scam site, it's legit. Maybe its different for people, i wear my honest heart out on my profile, and… Read more

most days i was contacted. 20 out of every month. i met some beautifuul people, made some friends, and only talked about my life because some people are just afraid of going further. unless you do. i always waited for them, when they talked about things other than what we're on there for, it was uncomfortable. I've been alone for a while, been through quite a lot compared to tha average person. I just closed my account to take a break, i wish i didnt. I had some happy moments on that site, and with the people. just beautiful. so i wanted to say thankyou to the owners, to the people on there i spoke with, i just had some things im not mature enough to handle yet or understand. And felt like i didnt know what to do or say to a few people. couples. but 80% of them, we clicked but they just wouldnt read my profile and weeks later, they get surprised im not into them or whatever. or they just kept chatting, about work, especially rich, wealthy people. they sucked. send me pictures of cars, and i wanna know if , well...whats going on. am i going to sit in the car or not and go out? i guess it depends what youre looking for, but if you live with an attitude like what i've seen in these comments here, no wonder ya single. because people dont need to meet you or even see you to feel your energy, no one wants to be with a sook or an arrogant or self riteous person. and u cant help being that way, u dont even know you are probably, thats the reason ya like that. and u cant help it. its not your fault. thats just you. if people could change, our jails would be mostly empty. people cant change. not the core. what they were born with. practice being more friendly, kinder, nicer, worry about yourself less. and what you want. and if you lost money on the site, its either from technical naivity, a tantrum, your arrogance and presentation of the problem, because amm does NOT RIP PEOPLE OFF. thats just a fact. everytime i have asked for help with all sorts of things, they can be a abrupt but helped me everytime. but i guess they dont have time to worry about politeness in every message to every user complaiint. im not a guy though. and i am very friendly, very open, honest, genuine, loving, im not up myself. i only have your one or 2 messages off here to go by, but those scream to me, screw that. yeh...blocked. there are morons everywhere, and wrenches, but theres someone for everyone. and i know whats written here is total nonsense ok. for a fact. either ya dumb as or rude like these messages. reviews. get a life. XXXX Love Samantha J.

P.S. Bruce...if you go out to any club in the last 30 years atleast, you'll notice guys outnumber the women ridiculously. they can be picky. its always been like that so i honestly dont know where you were....Maybe try Cancun mexico or thailand or somewhere. In this country, there is no doubt women have the didtinct numbers advantage for a mate. why?? When the government will say its roughly 50/50. 48/52 even, toward the male mate. But its absolute garbage. right from highschool. thats why there are so many lonely men, middle aged single men. you break up with your missus, at nearly any age, you'll find the female mate has a partner nearly straight away. if you add the partners up throughout life, if you could get the honest truth (independant of government) you'd find i'm correct. i believe immigration has a lot to do with the imbalance if the census numbers and our birth records are truthfully accurate. its the only possibilty. but you are in the same boat as every other australian male. its not just you. its not just AMM. its just how it is. and will be. the more females, the higher our reproduction rate, ok. the truth no one wnts to hear or believe is they do not want the australian men to repopulate. we are at , i think under 1% evn. maybe lower. we need to 2% to replace ourselves. not happening. white european heritage sapiens make up 4% of the worlds population. the imbalance is not a new thing ok. maybe read some books and get rid of that government brainwashing television. Its reality. and its not amm. its not the Dava or the casino's owners. its the population. who do you blame for the demographics, wake up. do something about it cause there will be none of us soon. our kids...you all care about money, since ww2. you all forgot about the country, the kids, just focused on yaselves. we're in trouble, your observation....screams the start of that problem and the true cause.

messages sent have been ignored. I suspect most "genuine" profiles are long obsolete. The site deliberately (I asked) does not put any "last online" dates on the profiles - presumably they are embarrassed by the very few active ones still there. They kept asking me to broaden my selection criteria to get more matches - totally useless as it is not a 2 way process. I was presented with profiles that fitted my very broad criteria but mostly, I fitted NONE of the "matches" narrower requirements. A serious fail of the matching algorithm. I know that in my area matches will not be frequent, but why make it look better than it is with total evasiveness and dishonesty? Whatever screening or filtering against scammers is useless. The four I encountered were very amateurish and could be picked in an instant. Did a reverse image check on some and they were stolen photos. I have terminated auto-renew and will NOT be manually renewing, and will never use this site again.

scammers, fakes, sleazes, s#x hungry guys and people with mental health issues. I heard some people have had to attend court thanks to this dating site back in the day. I met a guy on this dating site then I took up with him and turns out he was a real sleaze. To be honest, he was the worst online friend I have ever dealt with. After the terrible experience with Oasis Active, I will steer clear of dating sites as I have already been there and done that. I have however stayed in touch with a few selected people I met on this site who are genuine and decent.

Should you pay for an online dating site or dating app?

While there are plenty of dating platforms that you can use without paying, there are also others that either charge a membership fee when you sign up or offer a paid version of the platform. In the case of online dating, your experience can be very different depending on whether you’re using a free or paid service.

Free platforms can be a low fuss, low commitment way to start online dating, and depending on the platform, you can still access a lot of love-finding features that won’t require you to fork out any money. Often, however, you can’t access all the features of a platform without paying.

Some potential benefits of a paid service include:

  • Letting you access more features (for example, paying for Tinder Premium lets you access features like the ability to message someone before you’ve matched with them and showing you who has “liked” your profile).
  • Letting your profile be shown to more people.
  • There may be less bots or “fake” profiles.
  • Those who pay for a service are more likely to actively use them, so you may find matches more engaging and communicable.

What to consider when choosing an online dating platform

Who the platform is designed for

Dating platforms are sometimes designed with a specific demographic in mind, so it may be easier - depending on who you are and what you’re looking for - to go straight for one that you know is catered to you. For example, platforms like Christian Connection and Muzz are religion-based. There are even apps out there designed to help dog owners find love with each other. Some websites also may seem more catered to older people, even if they don’t specify that that’s who they’re designed for.

While for more general dating platforms it can be hard to figure out if you’ll find what you’re looking for, it’s still a good idea to have a scroll and see if people’s profiles are aligned with your expectations.

Filters

There are a lot of fish in the sea, and it might be too overwhelming to just start scrolling or swiping through profiles straight off the bat. That’s where filters on dating sites and apps can help. These help you filter profiles based on factors like location, age, sex and gender, interests, values and more, providing you with a slightly more tailored selection of profiles to choose from.

These might be more important for you if you have non-negotiables you’re looking for in a potential date. For example, you might only want to date someone politically aligned with you or you may want to only match with someone of a certain height.

Different platforms will have different filters, and some free platforms may only offer certain filters if you upgrade to a paid membership with them.

Privacy

Online dating can become tricky if you don’t really want certain people in your life to know you’re doing it, such as those who live in a small town or work in a high-visibility field. If this is the case for you, you may want to consider choosing a platform that lets you have a private profile or lets you block certain people.

If you’re unsure where to start, then this list of some popular dating platforms and the gist of what they are may help.

  • Tinder: a popular dating app that lets you swipe through a stack of profiles.
  • Bumble: a dating app that only lets women (in heterosexual matches) make the first move.
  • Hinge: a dating app that lets you swipe through profiles, and lets you put more information about your interests and opinions on your profile.
  • Grindr: a dating app for gay, bi, trans and queer people.
  • Her: a dating app tailored to lesbian, bisexual and queer women.
  • eHarmony: a dating website that’s generally used by people looking for serious relationships.
  • RSVP.com.au: A dating website with most members being over 35 years old.
  • OkCupid: A dating website with an algorithm that uses your preferences and answers to questions to connect you with others.

Online dating and safety

Many Australians have found love online, but to protect your own privacy and safety, it’s important to go about online dating in a smart way. There has also been a rise in scam reports relating to online dating, so you should also be vigilant about potentially fake profiles.

Keep in mind the following tips:

  • Avoid disclosing your full name on your dating profile.
  • Don’t include information like your home address, place of work or phone number on your profile.
  • Read the terms and conditions so you know exactly what you’re signing up for and how much it will cost (if it’s a paid service).
  • When meeting someone for the first time, pick a public place and tell a friend where you’re going.
  • Never send money to someone who you’ve only contacted online and haven’t met in person.

The bottom line

While knowing about the options out there can help you figure out what might work for you, our advice is to just try at least a few out and familiarise yourself with the different platforms. You’ll get a better idea of what people on these different sites and apps are looking for, whether you like how the app or website works, and also which site or app you have the most fun using.

It’s okay to start slow, or even take a break from it every once in a while, but seeking connections online can be a useful way to figure out exactly what you want out of dating and relationships.
