The top fill water lid is jammed. How do I un jam it?
Hi, when I try to turn my machine on the only thing that happens is the hot water light and steam light on each side of the pressure gauge light up. Nothing else, no menu screen or heating up, any advice would be groovy. Thank you!!
I have the bes900xl, does not get up to the ready mode. the temperature hits 150 max and making noises. Does anyone know how to fix it? Breville wants to 350 to fix it . I am handy I can fix it if know what's wrong with it. Thanks.
If you are handy. You might check the insidesto make sure it’s not corrosion that is th3 problem. It seems to be the isdu3 most common. Thesysten leaks. Corrodes the electronics. When the repair is half the cost of a new one you have to start to think is it worth it.
Hi,
I have an older Dual Boiler, its made a lot of coffee! When I turn the machine on, it immediately begins feeding water to the portafilter? Any help would be appreciated.
Marty
Hi. Well I suspect, based on what I have read and my experience, the valve that opens the boiler to release water is corroded. I had similar issues and thought it was build up of scale. The older version of the dual boiler could not be descaled by the owner. It had to be professionally serviced. I understand the later version could be done at home. If you go to get a service make sure it’s one where they will take the service price off any repair price should you go ahead with repairs. Before paying for repairs do some price checking of a new or alternative machine.
Over about 10 years we have paid about two and a half thousand on domestic coffee machines from mainstream electrical manufacturers. I always wanted a domestic semi commercial machine you see in the coffee roasters. For not much more than what I’ve spent I could have bought a good machine with commercial internal parts that was designed to last and able to be repaired. I know they are expensive, but if you like your coffee and can afford it, do your research and spend it on one of these.
There is so many fancy crap machines out their by small electrical goods manufactures who really shouldn’t be making coffee machines.
I suspect your machine is due for an overhaul, Get a quote from a Breville recommended repairer near you. At a guess this would be descaling boilers, replaceing valves for steam and water tank, plus all seals. balance this against the cost of a new machine, to soften the blow, start with that whatever you originally paid for your machine, divided by the number of years ownership, divided by coffees made per year multiplied by the retail price of a cup of coffee, take a deep breath, say the prayer "thank you" my Breville, and c'est la vie, time to go again. Or fix the one you have, which will be expensive! Personally I would be updating, reality is machines irrespective of their brand have a service life. Ten years is a pretty good run. Okay major overhaul, and then, something else breaks or stops working, back to the repair shop? A new double boiler, with bonus conical burr grinder and extra four years warranty, if you are prepared to negotiate hard, will set you back about $1,350. Machines are continuing to fall in price as pod machines dominate the market. What do a good coffee and clean air have in common, neither seem really critically important until you are not getting any!
Thanks, appreciate it!
The Start Button is flashing and no other button are working. What fault does the Start Button Flashing indicate?
Just made 3 coffees without a problem. Please let me know. Thanks
usually, the start button flashes to indicate machine is warming up! have you tried turning off and unplugging at wall, and the restarting? please try this
I just sent my machine in for repair to coffee screen and to have machine De-scaled. Other than that, machine worked fine and no problem with LCD screen. Machine came back and now LCD light comes on but no menu functions show up. What is wrong
obviously a serious fault

Hi I have Breville dual boiler BES 900XL machine and now there is a problem with it. The water for some reasons does not coming thru! I was trying to clean it with Breville cleaning tablets but the problem still exist, any suggestions?
Hi. The question you ask can hinge on a number of scenarios. How old is the machine? Have you cleaned it as often as the machine tells you? Are you using the correct cleaning tablets? (Not just ignoring it or running the cleaning cycle with plain water.
If everything is correct, the next question is can you get a pour without anything in the basket?
What is the fineness of your grind, etc?
If you are following procedure correctly and you still have a problem, you may need a new pump kit. I had mine replaced recently as I was not getting the correct pressure on a pour. It was not too expensive and now the machine runs like new.
If you do need the pump replaced, I suggest you get the group head replaced at the same time. This will return your machine to an as new operational condition.
Good luck.
I have a Breville Oracle and it temperature won't suddenly go up to the 200F to start working. The doesn't seem to have or show in the display panel any problem. What's wrong?
Hi Miguel,
I'm not sure as I don't have a Breville Oracle, but when my BES900 failed to heat up it meant the dual boiler was no longer working! I suggest you try an and get help from Breville customer service especially if it's still under warranty!
