How do you make sure the blade piece stays in the top of the shake maker? The first time using it it keeps falling out.

Hi Olivia. The blade is not detachable so if it's coming out then it's faulty. Take it back for a replacement or refund. Have a look at the cleaning info in your booklet that came with it. Pamela.

Thank you! I thought that might be the case.

Hello, Can anyone please tell me the size (dimensions) of the cup and are these available to be purchased separately, I was given the machine by a friend and they had lost the cup

Pamela

The cup dimensions are - H15cm, top diameter 10cm, bottom diameter 6cm. To buy a cup on its own will cost you about $30-00. It's up to you if you want to spend that much. Be very careful in getting the correct dimensions. It has to fit perfectly to operate properly. To buy a new maker the best price is $89-00 for one maker with one matching cup. Regards, Pamela.

Can anyone advise what is the maximum size drink (volume in mL) that this milkshake maker can make? A few reviews mention the cup size is a bit small and you can only start with the cup half-full but will the finished milkshake be at least 500ml? TIA! :-)

Pamela

Hi Andy - On the side of the cup it's got a mark of 500ml for the "total" level, which is only about half way up the cup. I've actually put about 300mls of ice cream in (or a bit more), added the milk to about 600ml and then the topping. So, yes, it does make 500ml (or if you cheat like I do, maybe just a little bit more). I also posted a previous comment on this item a year ago - please see the following; "I love this little milkshake maker. I read somewhere else someone was complaining about having to hold the button down while it makes the shake. NO YOU DON'T. Press & hold the button for a couple of seconds then let go, it stays on. Press again to turn off when the shake is done. One thing, I agree the cups could be a little bigger as the MAX line is only half way up the cup." Good luck, Pamela.

Can extra cups be purchased for this machine?

Are the two blades meant to be fixed or does the top blade move up and down? The top blade keeps dropping down on juicer and I'm wondering if I should return it?

Hi there, mine is the shake maker & Both blades are fixed. I think you need to contact Breville if it doesn’t seem right - good luck!!

On my shake maker the little spindle has two fixed rotor-blades with a fixed distance of about 1.5cm between them. Agree you should maybe contact Breville (or the store where you purchased) about this. Good luck with it! (I have had three of these shake makers and they have all worked excellently well :-) )
