Why is this thing not cooling? It's been on 2 hours and the ambient temperature has only dropped 1degree, which is probably due to the sun setting!
Well maybe it because it's a Air purifier not a aconditioner. Try putting some ice in front of it.

How much electricity does it use is it a good rating
I really love this unit but the first one I got turned off intermittently. I would have the timer set to cancel and it would turn off some nights after an hour, some nights after 5 hours, but never continuously run. I took it back to the store and they assessed it and sent me a replacement. This one still turns off intermittently but not as much as the first one. Breville has said it should run continuously if it’s set to cancel, which it always is. Has anyone else had this issue? Really don’t want to return it again and have the same thing happen. For the meantime I’ve just been setting the timer to 7hours and then resetting it during the night (this is for my baby’s room so I’m up at one point in the night anyway to do this but it is annoying!)
We have had the same issue, despite trying everything the unit always shuts off in the middle of the night. We replaced the first one after contacting Breville. The user manual says it should run continuously if timer is off but we have yet to figure this out!! Very frustrating and we are at a total loss... we bought it for our toddlers room since it gets very cold in winter... It can't possibly be the intended way for this thing to operate. Have you found a solution?
It’s so frustrating because other than that it’s a really good unit! Breville Aus wanted me to send it back to them so they could investigate because they said they’d never come across this issue (my friend has the same problem and I saw other reviews stating the same). Unfortunately I’m in New Zealand so they said I just have to exchange at the shop I bought it from. This is also for my baby’s room so I’m just going to do that after winter so we don’t have to go without a unit. Currently setting a 7hour timer when I go to bed for it and then resetting the timer when I wake for her night feed but if she were sleeping through the night that would be annoying!
I bought three units at the same time. One for each bedroom and all three do exactly the same thing. I end up putting the timer on 7 hours as the only way to get it to stay on for more that an hour or two.
It’s obviously something they all do as what’s the odds I’d get three faulty ones?
Does this smaller appliance heat as well as filter air?
Yes works best as a heater only. Filter will turn on only with when fan is on
