Can roadside service be added during a current policy? eg: online (annual)
Good afternoon. Thank you for reaching out. Yes! You are able to add Roadside Assist at any time to your current cover. You will then only pay the pro-rata amount for the time of cover left, from the date added to the expiry date. Alternatively you are able to take this out online for a discounted price for the year and link this to your existing policy. (They will just have different commencement and expiry dates). Take care, *Skye.
Can I buy 2 month road side assist to cover Australia and how much does 2 months cover cost
I would recommend not touching these guys with a barge pole. The roadside assistance they provided to me recently was basically worse than no roadside assistance at all. You can read the whole saga in my review of them, recommended bedtime reading. I would strongly suggest go with another roadside assistance provider.
Hi Antony, thanks for contacting us. A Budget Direct Roadside Assistance membership is effective for one year and costs just $89.95 for an unlimited number of callouts (subject to our fair use policy). We don't have an option to buy a short-term roadside assistance membership for two months. Have a great day. *Ruby
Does roadside assist cover make the one vehicle or whatever vehicle on driving
Hi Daryl, thank you for reaching out. Budget Direct Roadside assistance will provide cover for the vehicle listed on the membership.
My daughter just called road side assist and a tow truck pulled up and towed her car. No one even looked at the car ? I thought I paid for road side assist not a tow service to have it towed to a mechanic that may or may not charge a lot to assess what ever is wrong ? I am happy for it to go to a mechanic if it requires it however we are not sure what the problem is so even if it is something simple I will be paying for the mechanic. Is this normal practise for a road side assist service ?
Not sure about this, you may need to specify what you require. When I broke down I requested my car to be towed to my mechanic
Thanks for replying, it was my 19 year old daughters car, she doesn’t live near me. I thought they would at least pop the Bonet and look at it, in case it was an easy fix and didn’t require towing to a mechanic.
how much is roadside assistance
Hi there, it was $89 for 1 year. Highly recommend browsing their website for full details. Cheers
What are towing benefits for remote roads in SA , NT and WA ?
Hi Peter, our Roadside assistance provides the following towing benefits: anywhere in the geographic area of Australia outside the greater metropolitan cities - up to 50 kilometres, round trip from the contractor's depot. If you are within the geographical metropolitan areas of the capital cities of Australia, including the metro satellite cities, major regional cities and major towns of Australia- up to 15 kilometres from the breakdown location. In the event of a breakdown and it determined that the towing is above the limit, you will be provided a quote for the excess kilometres.
So dont go roadside assist with them? I know there insurance policies contain huge fine print, so ok back to nrma for me, at least it will be a matter of tried and true with nrma
I would stick with NRMA for sure.
I find it very poor that Budget have only responded to the 5 star ratings and ignored the guy with the perfectly valid 1 star rating. Looks like a company to avoid I think.
Budget direct roadside cover flat tyre ?, and fix the flat tyre?
Hi Chef Favio, thank you for taking the time to write this review. With our Roadside Assistance, If you have a flat tyre, we change and replace it with the spare tyre supplied with your vehicle. You must have the correct, serviceable spare tyre, and the roadside contractor must have access to the vehicle’s own serviceable jack and wheel brace or tools. If we can’t change the tyre for any reason, we tow the vehicle to the nearest tyre repairer within the service limits. Reasons might include, but aren’t limited to: no spare tyre, faulty or missing wheel studs and nuts. We hope this provides with you further clarification, however should you wish to discuss this further please call us, email roadside@budgetdirect.com.au or alternatively here is the link to our website external link
I have recently purchased road side assistance for my mother. When does the 48 hour waiting period start? From time of payment? Or when policy is received?
Thank you for asking the question. Roadside Assistance starts 48 hours after you buy the Roadside Assistance agreement (once the call ends). If you need help in first 48 hours of purchasing the Roadside Assistance, or at any time due to a preexisting condition, we charge a non-refundable service fee of $100 (including GST)on top of any Roadside Assistance premium. We hope this provides you with further clarity, regarding your concern.
Do Not Ever Use This Company as its a Complete Waste Of Time and Money With Shocking Customer Service-They try and Charge For Items Which would be Normally Covered under Other Providers. Save Yourself The Trouble-Pay a Bit Extra in Premium and Get Good Service They Use Ultratune as a provider So Basically 2 companies With Different Policies and Keep On Passing The Buck between Each Other.-Charged Me $100 To "Extract" A Car From a Shopping Centre by walking 30m Up The Ramp Then Jumpstarting and Loading It Onto a Tow Truck -Just Checked With another Provider and said They Don't Charge For this Kind Of Service as Part Of Tow Assist -Keep Away From Them
I am a member of budget direct roadside assistance, I have used there service and on all occasions have had no problems.
You r lucky then Stevens just look up my story with them the same issue outsourced to Ultratune which wont admit to their own incompetence and hence wrong advice whilst Allianze was correct
Concur with Vincent L. These policies are of limited use as the contractors are hit and miss. Outside a metro area and you are on your own.
