how to do descaling process?

Hi all. Not sure if anyone has experienced this issue, when I press the "OK" button to make a coffee, I get hot water from the hot water pipe. If I press the OK button again, it then dispense hotwater through the coffee port filter as it should. Any one know why it would dispense hot water through the pipe which is used to make cups of tea first. Did think it was a stuck button, but it's not the case.

Sounds like you have set it to make long black.

Dear Kriptoguy,

If you have the dial set to LONG BLACK, you will get hot water first from the hot water pipe followed by coffee.

Please change this to Espresso / Coffee.

I have a DELONGHI LaSpecialista Prestigio EC935X for which I wish to purchase a puck screen. Puck screens only seem to come in 51mm, 53mm, and 58mm sizes, but I measured the inside of my filter basket at 56.3mm. What is the recommended size of puck screen for this unit?

I have a delonghi Specialista and the tea cup is stuck on. Nothing will work but the hot water. I saw a reddit post that said to keep running the hot water, but that hasn't helped. We haven't been able to make coffee for days. Help please.

I'm asking for help. Today I started descaling the machine because the red light started to burn. After a few moments the process is interrupted and now I can no longer receive any signal from the coffee machine except for the tea light. Only it is lit. When I press the button for tea, only a few drops come out, as if the machine does not have enough pressure (this morning it worked normally, made tea and two coffees and then turned off the coffee machine normally). Model DeLonghi La Specialista EC9335M

Bean container always on no matter what I do clean it blow it with air remove the container put it back I have done everything and I’m actually tired of delonghi telling me take it to a repair service we’ll if you guys al had one in My country will be nice or I have to send it back to Europe or Canada to get it fix ?

on the ECM 9335 La Specialista, is there a way to change beans from caf (morning) to decaf (evening)? I thought I might be able to simply twist the round plastic bean holder and remove beans, but it doesn't turn and I'm afraid of breaking it. Is there a procedure for changing out beans or do we have to grind down all the caffeinated beans and before adding the decaf?

Hi Tim, Thank you for your contacting Delonghi Group. We are sorry to advise but the Delonghi La Specialista range is not suitable for interchangeable beans containers due to the design of the container hopper.

What you could do as an option to use both:

1. Purchase preground DECAF coffee 2. Turn the dial on the left of the appliance to PREGROUND function and use DECAF this way.

After only a few weeks of use we returned the machine for repair 31/01/2023 because of a loud banging sound, it was returned to us with a no fault found after extensive checks. Since then although the banging sound disappeared and we have descaled several times, the machine erratically fails, i.e., stops brewing the water red light comes on even though there is water. We have observed that it work well once a day (full coffee brewed) but we get the water red light when doing a second and coffee is wasted, even though it's been a few minutes since the machine was used. This seems to occur on average 3 times a week. So we now call it a one coffee a day machine. All settings and coffee type remain constant, so we don't really understand why it keeps erratically failing. Also, we were informed that if we returned the machine and no fault is found, that we will be charged for the service. We bought an extended warranty for this product. At this stage we are wasting so much coffee.

Hi Vbuloan, Thank you for your review. There is a few reasons why the red light comes on when brewing coffee. Main reason is that the filters are experiencing a blockage or the coffee is to fine.

Hi. My pressure gauge stopped working after 4 months. Descaled, powered off and on and adjusted going. Nothing helped.

Hi Suzette Thank you for contacting Delonghi Group. It is important to check the following factors so we can determine the reason for the gauge not activating. If the coffee beans are not fresh there will not be enough properties in the coffee and it will cause a fast extraction. Please don't overfill the bean hopper and ensure the beans are stored in an airtight container. Also ensure you have freshly roasted coffee beans. If the dose in the filter basket is lower than the ridge or mark on the inside of the basket this is not enough coffee and will cause a fast extraction, adjust the dose higher so when tamper the coffee meets the mark/ridge on the filter basket If the grind is too coarse for the beans you are using this may cause a fast extraction and you may need to adjust the grinder to a lower number so the coffee will pour slower.

If you have checked all the factors above, please try the below steps and take a quick video of the process from the moment you press the okay button to send to us.

Insert the single filter basket into the coffee handle Insert the cleaning disc into the single basket Insert the coffee handle into the brewing outlet Press OK and allow the machine to pre-infuse and then start pumping the water Does the pressure gauge move at all? Press OK to stop the water again

My Delonghi La Specialist coffee machine will not descale. How do I fix this problem

Unfortunately, if the machine is stuck on the descaling mode, your best move would be to take it back to the shop and get a replacement. It's a common issue with the model after 2 weeks of use. The ray of light is that when you get a new machine, you can change the water hardness setting before you get started. Also buy a water filter attachment or use filtered water. We've had the model now for over a month and no descaling issue.

Not for free if it's out of the 12 month warranty. But it's a common issue with the machine so they should know if it's a easy fix or not. But your chances aren't good.

We have the La Specialista model and the grind reset isn't working. The machine is about 8 months old and I have reset the "burrs" twice already but now it is not resetting so the grind is set to max and the lights are on to tell me to reset but it isn't working...what now?

His Rinse light is on ... not the Descale light. I have the same problem, and that light is not even documented in my "DeLonghi EC935X La Specialista Prestigio Espresso Machine User Manual".

Hi Jackmann Scott, Thank you for your question and sorry we did not see this sooner. Hot Water mode ( TEA CUP ) - If the water is coming out HOT, It just needs a reprime as it is detecting a blockage. If the water is cold - This is not a good sign and will need a visit to the coffee repair doctor

I have the La Specialista - it’s only 3 weeks old. For some reason when going to make a coffee this morning, on the left hand screen; it’s lit up saying “Dose Level” with a picture of the group handle - and it won’t grind or dose any coffee. Haven’t had any issues at all with the machine until this morning. This doesn’t appear anywhere in the manuals and can’t work out how to get it going again??

Hi Rosie, have you tried to reset it ? Hold the X2 and my button for 3 seconds then hold the my button until light changes, then press power to confirm. Hope it works for you.

Hi I am having trouble with adjusting the grind amount into the filter. If I adjust the dial even the smallest amount it immediately grinds excess coffee overfilling the single filter. Is there any solution for this

Hi Jason, I think you have the X2 on, make sure it is off when doing single shot. If it is off and still doing that, there must be an issue and you need to call the support team.

Hi Jason, Thank you for your inquiry. It is correct to say to ensure the 2 x button is OFF when making and using a single shot filter. Please also go to your user manual and look at DEFAULT VALUES and how to program this - just in case you have the extra grind adjustment set up and its giving more coffee grinds.

Hi, I have a La Specialista Prestigio Manual, and have a couple of problems with it. FIRST thing though is that it still makes an AWESOME coffee :) so no complaints there.

The pressure gauge does not work. It was working most of the time, but of late stopped. Still great coffee though. The second thing is that we have started having issues with the steam wand not wanting to work - get small drips from the outlet that makes the coffee instead. THIS is a concern as i cannot get to heat the milk.

I use descaler on a regular basis - when the light comes on. I also run the tablets through the filter basket with the little rubber cap when i use descaler.

I also check the holes in the nozzle to ensure they are clear. Sometimes though this does not do it, so have to switch the entire unit of, give it a mo, then put it back on again.

"Help" please :)

Since writing this last night, steam will not come out of the nozzle, no matter what we do. In fact when you turn the knob for steam, it slowly pulses out of where it makes the coffee. Has anyone experienced this type of problem before?

Its also under 1 year old.

Guage not working - There is no pressure. This is easily fixed by adjusting the grind setting, tamping and building the pressure back up.

Steamer not working - We will attempt to clean the nozzle, run a few rinses of clean water through and see if this resolves it.

Might need a reset…. Turn off, unplug, leave a few minutes and restart.

Purchased the specialista EC9155 a few months ago and The water light stays on even though I have filled the tank, and it flashes every time I try to make a coffee. Have tried removing and replacing the full tank several times to reset the sensor but it hasn’t worked and the light remains on
