The unit was installed about 6 weeks ago and when outside temperature was 4 degrees this morning unit cut out and after 3/4 hour came back on this is the third time it has happened & window near to inside & outside had extreme inside condensation. Then I am freezing inside the house & have use a small heater to keep warm, why is it not working I do live in a metropolitan area of melbourne.
The first is to determine what size is the house or room you are heating and what temperature are you setting the unit at.
I have an open living area but not very large, small galley kitchen, dining & living area but keep doors closed to bedrooms bathroom etc. The unit that needed replacing never did this(it was a different brand). I am setting the unit at 24 degrees' & sometimes a bit higher.
Hi Valued customer please call our VIC Service Team who will do their best to assist you especially in this very cold weather Tel: 1300 364 484.
My unit does not heat as effectively as it did. It is less than 12 months since installed. When first installed, setting it to 26 degrees would quickly warm the room, and then I would put it down to 20-22. Now putting it on 30 degrees is not as effective as 22 used to be. Does it just need a service, or is there some other problem with the unit?
Hi Kovu's we would recommend for you to change the filters, and if this doesn't help we would advise for a technician attend to confirm the system refrigerant charge and correct thermistor values. Please call the Fujitsu Service team who will be able to assist you further. Tel: 1300 364 484
Hello I'm looking at buying this unit , but want it to heat or cool a areas 6m x 7m open living area . Do u think it will do the job
Hi Jason Thanks for your question, we would always recommend an installer to inspect your premises for the best outcome. Please visit our website for a guide too external link
Hello Jason. The 7.1 kW sure is a powerful one ! I also reckon you get an expert to give an opinion. If you get the wrong one your electricity bill could be astronomical!!
Should I turn off power outside over winter. Have wood fire so not needed then.
I leave mine turned on all year, there is no need to turn the isolation sw off unless for maintenance.
Hi Liz, Yes you can turn it off if you are not going to use it but please keep in mind that you will need to give it time, at least a few hours before you use it when you turn it back on.
Hi my internal unit turns off after about 2 hours usage and has error A3, 10 operation indicator (green light) and 3 timer indicator (orange light) flashes , I can turn it off at the main power supply outside for 5-10 minutes and it works for a short period again , is this a common issue with these units .
Hi Shaun, thank you for kindly providing the description of your Fujitsu airconditioning unit. It seems you could have an issue with your compressor or thermistor, we would advise you to call Tel 1300 364 484 to request a Service Technician to attend your unit.
Is there a way to stop the air condintoner from letting in smoke as the bushf ire smoke is thick and the air conditoner seems to bring in smoke when in use .
Hi Belle, Thank you for your question, please be advised the Fujitsu Air Conditioning unit doesn't use outside air, it will only re-circulate the air which is inside the house. If you would like to discuss this further please call our Technical Support team Tel: 1300 364 484 and we will do our best to assist you.
I can turn power on for my unit, but when the signals light the Economy button is flashing green and I can do nothing more with the unit. The fan will not operate and no air is emitted. How can I fix this?
Hi, I only placed a review on the aircon, I'm not a serviceman.
Would suggest you contact the original installer of the system or call the Fujitsu trouble desk.
Pete
Hi Pete, Thank you for placing your comment on Product Review. In regards to your query this usually means there is an error on the system indicated when the economy light is flashing and the operation and timer lights have a distinct flash sequence. If isolating the power to the system for 10 minutes doesn't resolve the situation, a technician will be required to attend. Please kindly contact our Service team directly and they will do their best to assist you. Toll free Tel: 1300 364 484.
Just wondering what the difference is between the Fujitsu 7.1kw ASTG24KMCB and the Fujitsu 7.1kw ASTG24KMCA as there is a price difference. Many thanks. Jemma
Hi Jemma, thanks for contacting us at Fujitsu General. The difference is that the KMCB is WiFi enabled whereas the KMCA is not. Hope this helps.
Can the KCMA be fitted with a WIFI Module?
Anil, I've had this on my non wifi unit since I brought it, works perfectly.
external link
Hi Anil, We do not have a Wifi Solution at this time, but stay tuned for more information on this from Fujitsu shortly
Is there a plan to provide a wifi module for this model?
Hi Magnus, We do not currently have a Wifi Solution for the ASTG24KMCA.
Is there a plan to have one?
Hi Magnes, Yes we are aiming for approximately November.
Hi is wifi available for the kmca yet? Thanks
Hi Gavo the wifi for the Kmtc will be available shortly. Thank you for your interest and please keep in touch.
Is the wifi available for this (kmca) yet ?
How do I find out how much power the 7.1 kw unit uses whilst on standby?
Thanks for your question.
The standby power for the ASTG24KMCA 4.17 watts for cooling and 4.22 watts on heating. If the outdoor temperature drops below 0 degrees, standby preheat will be enabled and the standby will increase to 37.14 watts.
Can someone please explain the operations of AUTO, COOL and DRY modes. Which one is best to use?
Auto it adjusts room temp when reached wanted temp
And COOL will cool to set temp. DRY will remove humidity only, but it will make the room feel cooler as a result- this is great when humidity is high but temperature is not.
Thanks Eri and Lyn. The instruction book just gives the bare basics, with no explanation of what each mode actually does. It's as I thought, but wanted it confirmed. Thanks again. Mel J
My experience also! No explanation of modes...just how to change settings. Very impressed with it though. Md.
Hi Mic, Thank you for your comment on Product Review, if you would like further information regarding the operations of Auto Cool and Dry modes please call our Technical Support team Tel: 1300 364 484 and they will happily discuss any questions you have. We look forward to assisting you.
Why does my Fujitsu split system stop before it reaches heating temperature
Hi Helen, this could be for a few reasons, the unit may be undergoing a defrost cycle or sensing the correct temperature where it's positioned but not in the room. Please could you call our Fujitsu Technical Support Team who would like to discuss this further with you Tel: 1300 364 484.
When the units switch to economy mode and the temperature begins to rise, does not the thermostat kick in and begin the cooling cycle again? Or do they all begin to heat unless you regularly switch on the powerful setting?
Most remote controlled HV seperate economy & powerful buttons, temp required buttons,& auto settings. And most do auto rise & fall when room areas HV reached temp settings.
Can timer adjusted that unit turns on the same time every day?
Yes mine does this. However, I am into home automation and am using a controller that can turn it on and off remotely using my mobile from wherever I am.
Yes, you can set daily on and off times with the remote... the problem being is once it reaches the set temperature the unit switches to economy mode... but it never powers back up once the temperature starts rising again... example I switched it on about an hour ago as its going to be about 40c today.... the lowest setting is 18c so unit was switched on, it has cooled to 18c and has now switched to economy..... give it an hour or so and the temperature will be about 25 and climbing but the unit wont power back up again... come 3pm if I dont press the powerful button about every 30 minutes it will be about 35c inside
my aircon 7.1 kw astg24kmca was installed yesterday and the bloke turned it on but it wasn't very cool he said it will take a bit to cool down, we noticed though that it wasnt that cool after a couple of hours, this morning I turned it on and nothing, there is a red flashing clock thing on the unit itself, I have followed all troubleshooting suggestions and still nothing. Any help?
No it sounds that younhave a pr9blem i would contactthe manufaectors custoervservice who are very helpful
The installer said i had to keep on for v 1-2 then turn off he stayed untilmi understand how to,use it i used a8rtasker to,install
Sounds to me as though there, is a problem with the unit and I would be contacting the warranty branch immediately. My unit takes a little while to actually operate after being turned on but that is normal. Mine can be too cold if I don't watch it or too hot if I have it set too high. I love it and it's worked perfectly from day one.
Why from time to time when is very cold outside and we use the unit to heat the rooms, why does the unit make a very unusual process? The fan stops working and i hear the unit outside operating and short after that the fan starts to blow again. Sometimes this unusual process repeats for a several times afterwards and the unit then works normally again ?
At colder temperatures, where the outside unit coolant temperature is below freezing (where it is near 0oC or below outside), the unit collects ice on the compressor coils and has to stop heating to defrost the outside coils (because it become ineffective at transferring heat to the coolant which is condensed to heat the inside air) and restore the ability to transfer a usable amount of heat from the outside air to the coolant, and from there use the it to heat in indoors. When it does that, it shuts down the blower inside, since there is no or little heat residual. Once the outside coils are defrosted (don't know if the unit can sense that or just goes through a fixed time cycle) by the electric heating elements in the outside unit, it restarts automatically. It will periodically go through this cycle as ice continues to build up. At the times it is going though these cycles, it is much less efficient and may be more expensive (i.e. use more electricity for a unit of heat) to run than an all electric space heat. I have not been able to get the information from Fujitsu on the efficiency at low temperatures, so do not know at what temperature point the unit is more expensive to use for heating the a $15 electric heater (it doesn't depend on the price of electricity, since electricity is used in both processes, but does effect the cost benefit of the unit.
It's just making sure not to blow cold air at you and defrosting, it's completely normal and you can buy a base heater that uses a little electricity to help keep the units a bit warmer and may help with this a little.
I find that the operating instructions are very confusing. Is there a simpler basic instruction sheet available?
Thanks Ian
Hi Ian
Unfortunately there are no other instructions that I'm aware of. The ones provided are complicated, but that's all that is available.
