George Foreman Mix & Go Questions & Answers
VerifiedMy george foreman blender stop and power botton can not be turn on ...how can i trouble shoot it?
Don’t know Marisa sorry ide reckon it’s throw away time
My blender started going strong to a small hum sound and a small smell of smoke, I think I perhaps did not put enough liquid in my mixer and now it won’t turn on anymore. What should I do ?
No idea. Try taking it back to the retailer if it is still under warranty. You should have at least 250ml of liquid in the jug every time you make a smoothie.
I have just brought a new blender and both times i have used it, i can't get the bottle and blade lid to release. I have to turn it up side down and remove the bottle only? then use vice grips to release the blade section. Am i doing something wrong. Mine has the 1 & 2 power switch.
Lol hmmm different to mine . It does seal with a vaccuum so it doesnt leak. Which makes it very tight. I usually tu r n mine blade end up and tap it on the sink to make the mix release a bit then let it set a few seconds to a minute b4 i crack the seal. I use mine at least every 2nd day i am honestly very very happy as i did own a a 300 dollar nutribullet which leaked and eventually burnt out. . Vice grips sozzunds extreme lol.
I have not had this issue. I do have to hold the blade section firmly when unscrewing the bottle. Try coating the thread section of the bottle with a small amount of Canola oil before screwing on the blade section; it may help them to separate.
Thats not the problem. When ive finished blending i cant get the blade lid out with the bottle, cause it seems to get stuck.
Please confirm that this gadget does not have an on/off switch, I have to engage bottle and blade insitu, switch on power point and then engage pressure activated auto start for it to blend.
That is how it works , You push down on it to connect and start . take off pressure to stop. This way you are in total control of it. Imagine if you had left the switch on and away it went without you in control.
Where can I get Spares in NZ
mix&go blender top bottle can not take off
How do i reset George Forman Mix & Go, as the LED light keeps blinking? in the instructions it says if it over heats wait for 20 mins. I however have wated for an hours and when i turn it back on the led lights still blinks.
GFBL300. Blade attachment is stuck in Base. Tried turning it tight then wiggle it as I turned the opposite way. Worked first time but now it has happened again and refuses to budge. As well as that, liquid leaked into Base and now it is rotting and smelly. How on earth do I get it all apart and then clean inside the Base. There doesn't appear to be a way to pull it apart for cleaning.
I used a tea towel to hold the blades as they are sharp and I unscrewed the gasket on other side...take the gasket and washers off and wash, let dry and put back together.
I have just bought a George Foreman mix & go how on earth do I remove the rubber gasket in the blade assembly for cleaning. You really don't have any info on this in the instruction book. Thank you
I used a tea towel to hold the blades as they are sharp and I screwed the gasket on other side...take the gasket and washers off and wash, let dry and put back together.
What do you mean by screwed the gasket on other side. Theres nothing i can unscrew
hi, do you accept resellers?
I've only just brought the mix and go, and used it once. Second time I tried it, it smelt burnt and was feeling warm. And now it doesn't seem to work and ideas of what happened to it?
I’m not sure but that doesn’t sound right... I would check in the rim of the blade lid as there is a rubber ring - if that has dislodged it may have made that burning smell?? And if dislodged it may not work properly... otherwise I would take it back where I got it and see if it could be replaced as it may be a defect in the product??
I don't think it is unusual for the blade rim to be warm especially after use but if it doesn't appear to be working as it did I would definitely take it back.
Can you buy new sealer for the lid with the blades on so it doesn’t leak
I used my mix and go to blend some tuna chunks and avocado. I started to really slow down then stopped. Could smell an electric smell. I have turned it off but am worried I have burnt out the motor. Is there an overload reset or something else I can do?
There is not a reset as far as I know. I have had my machine get a bit hot and I have solved this by using it in short bursts. Also if you move the mixture around a bit it is better. Makes me wonder if tuna and avocado are not liquid enough for this type of blender!
Great - thanks, pretty sure its toast as it wont restart.
Did you really think it is going to mix tuna? Mix and go is to make drinks!!!!! I use it for fruit drinks only. I mix frozen fruit with a little juice or water. It only gets a bit warm if too much is loaded into the container. Apart from my dust buster...this is the best piece of machinery I own!!!!
Wow Jules, thanks for the constructive and non opinionated response with all of the !!!!!. I appreciate it. Have done tuna in it to make a pureed dip heaps of times love. Perhaps you should research things or even read the online instructions before responding then provide something constructive on this forum.
Brim...are you not asking for an opinion? Tuna !!!!!
According to the instructions using this to make dip (soft foods like tuna and advacado should be fine considering people put ice and frozen fruit in it!!!) is perfectly acceptable. If it won't restart the motor has most likely burnt out, sadly that's an issue quite a few people seem to have had... My friend bought one, used it twice (fruit smoothies) and yup, burnt out. If it's under warranty you should be able to get a replacement it a refund.
Thanks KittyCat, appreciate the constructive feedback. I have actually moved to a Nutribullet and have not looked back.
I think the instruction manual says not to mix meats in it. :( whoops.
My mix and go was quite warm last time I used it. It smelt a tad weird so I switched it off. It won't turn back on. Is there anything I can do?
Mines done exactly the same thing, did you work it out?
Can I get replacement seals for my mix and go if so where?
Sorry, I'm not sure. I would contact them directly and ask for parts: external link
Do you sell just the containers separately?
Ummm...I don't sell the product. I just buy it.
If you are wondering, when you buy it, it comes with two containers.
Yes Claire . It comes with two containers but you can buy extras separately
This is what it says on the box...
Additional 600ml bottles sold separately.
Available in 4 colours.
The lid of my mix and go is stuck and will not come out of the stand, has anyone encountered this, or found a way to get it out?
By lid do you mean the blade attachment? If so, and its stuck to the base of the blender, First unplug the blender. Use your bottle (making sure it's completely dry), twist it back on the blade assembly tightly(clockwise). When you feel that it's tight enough, twist it anticlockwise. You should feel a little give and it should come out as usual.
Thank you
Did you find that this worked? Mines still stuck and I don't know how else to get it off
As described above but can sometimes help to try a little downward pressure as you are turning the dry bottle anticlockwise. That worked for mine.
I have used my mix and go pro about 3 times and now the bottle leaks. Anyone else have this problem?
Hi Sharon, no I have not had this problem.
Make sure the rubber seal is still in the base and that it's clean and sitting flush.
Make sure that the seal is not twisted. Can easily happen when refitting if it comes out when washing.
Its probe leaking thought spindle shaft o ring on the blades and not the rubber seal on the glass jug. I've had 2 replaced now but being a plumber have worked out how to fix it. you undo to blade assembly it has a backwards thread so you will undo it opposite way to turning a tap on. then pull the shaft out and grease it up with some silicone grease on the o ring aswel then put it back together. Seems to work fine now
The mix & go stays on
We have to turn it in & off from the wall switch
Is there a way to fix it?
When you twist the bottle and push it downwards this makes it go on, and then you can twist it the other way to stop it. There's an arrow on the motor part and on the blade part that have to line up to make it go (which I gather you've already discovered if yours goes) and you just un-align them to make it stop and you can then remove the blade and bottle. Hope that helps. Cheers.

Suggest you contact the George Foreman website. I have the Mix and Go Pro which may be slightly different from your model as mine has 4 options and has the blender jug as well as the bottle.
Thank you
It did use to Work with alignment of the arrows
It now will never turn off unless we use wall switch
However we still use it
Is there any help
I had exactly the same problem - the product is faulty take it back to where you bought and get a refund not a replacement. My replacement is now 6 months old and has started to leak around the rubbers. This product is plagued with issues, I'm going to find a dearer replacement.
My mix n go has broken used a few times warranty run out the rubbers have all cone out round blade can i purchase just the blade attachment from anywhere and what price?
As I live in New Zealand I am unable to give you an answer. Suggest you go back to the shop you bought it from and they should be able to advise you on what best to do. Good luck.
